  • good thing in when ae came out they decided to make backdashes count as being in the air.

  • Is it possible to do an instant off the ground siberian blizzard resulting in the hitboxes of the ultra extending to the opponent even while they're on the ground/ not airborne? Or is it strictly anti air only?

  • @IVISMiLESIVI i think it will only work on airborne opponents but still, you can instant-ultra 2

  • uau :O

  • Its an "option select". This is just proof that gief has a real os. Its says it in the title. Any smart player knows that not everything with option select in it means unblockable or invincible. its just another useful factor in the game if you can train your opponent to react certain ways or put the player in a situation where any form of airborne movement is their most effective option out of the pressure from gief.

  • Love the look on Rufus's face at 0:54

  • So....last night on the team spooky guard crush stream on twitchtv,Aquasilk the premier gief player in the usa and the protector of russian skies stated that these gief option selects are in fact fraudulent and stated,i quote "gief could be grabbed out of them".Do you have a response to this desk?.

  • @neontetra1000 hahaha. I need evidence that this actually happened.

  • @biffotasty I Have just been to the guard crush 26 page on twitchtv but the archives are not there, yet, hopefully someone else who saw the stream will comment but i assure you he stated exactly what i quoted.

  • @biffotasty Actually i beg your pardon, last nights gc 26 archive is there, for some reason it's on the 2nd page behind older videos, the comment in question was nearer the start of the stream,i don't have a time stamp as i am not going to sit through the whole thing again, although the rush hour commentary between chris hu and aquasilk was the best ever, hilarious, the chat was going crazy.the comment was around the time, aqua and jaha were commentating, btw keep up the good work.

  • @neontetra1000. Uh...how exactly would one be grabbed out of this? If they don't do an invincible action on wakeup then they should have to block the meaty j.HK.

  • @neontetra1000 lol aquasilk isn't even that great of a gief player. getting to his skill level could take an averagely decent/good street fighter player 8 mo. - 1 year if they just started Gief. zangitan is a true giefer

  • this is amazing and i love you

  • so... teleports would blow this os up right?

  • @dtlee9489 this particular one yes, but there are other option selects for teleports (os-green hand to spd), so it still comes back to conditioning your opponent against doing certain things and making the right read

  • "nobagh-sohoasindoiipan'fnaoisdnao'snfasf" Zangief.

  • zangief was already scary D:

  • If you pause at 0:54, you can see Rufus' face just enough that you know what he's thinking. And do you know what Rufus is thinking right there?

"...oh, god, I think I just soiled myself."

  • For everyone asking how to get out of this, it's not as great as it sems. This OS works against all backdashes, presumably, but most characters' reversals can get them out of this situation. This OS takes a LONG time to develop (I'm guessing around 12 frames or so), so anybody with a DP FADC gets out of this without having to think. You can also just choose to do what beats nearly all OS, and that's to just block.. though obviously, it keeps Gief in good position.

  • woooooow

  • WOK DA SUGA WA!!

  • WHAT THE F***!? ALL THOSE MOVES COUNT THE ENEMY AS "ON AIR"!?

  • Oh yeah, seems like you'd get accidental ground grab with this setup pretty easily.

  • im not gonna lie zangief saying that one line in japanese makes me lol

  • why didnt you turn input display on?!?!?!

  • @NightPirateUSA You can't have input display on a dummy in training mode, and the only way to really show an OS, is by setting the dummy.

  • @TizOnly1 ahhh. common sense lol

  • @TizOnly1 Just saying, you can have input display on the dummy in training mode. I do it all the time.

  • accidentally disliked LOL. GOOD VID

  • NIGGA_WAT

  • in-sane

  • Hmm so what should I do when a gief does this? Focusing just gets me comboed I would imagine. I guess You just have to block it and try to guess out of the next set up if you can't teleport eh?

  • @ZyxBlackwind im not 100% sure but i think if you just reversal dp, you will beat it out, because zangief needs to be in the air to do the ultra, and by the time you do an instant air dp gief gets hit by it but then again im not sure.

  • Crazy stuff

  • crazy stuff

  • Does it work on wake-up ex sbk?

  • Yeah.. focus backdash is not the same as whiffing, at all.

Good shit on this Desk. I haven't seen OS U2 before.

For all you guys saying he's not legit.. step your SF4 game up. There's nothing in this vid that is unbelievable at all. This is actually VERY basic, by Desk standards.

  • OS is crazy desk makes look to easy man

  • @biffotasty Does it grab ex Knee Press or ex Psycho Crusher?

  • Oh my God... I hope ppl know how to wake up focus back dash on wake up to beat the option select. ;)

  • @touyang203

That will get you OS'd, lmao. An attack being focused is the same as an attack whiffing, the option select will come out. Not backdashing after the focus and just going for a lvl 1 or 2 focus attack would be the better option.

  • @GirugaMarc thats not true. focusing the jump hk and then backdashing wont make the OS come out.

  • @GirugaMarc Lol no, you're wrong.

  • @HardRuisu

    oh, ok

  • @GirugaMarc yeah stupid read everyone's comment, "lmao" faggggg..

  • Zangief has magnetic hands.

  • WTF?

  • shit just got real

  • cheap

    nerf Desk, not Characters

  • AquaSilk: "Nobody is safe anymore."

  • normal grab?

  • i hate option selects

  • awesome !!! now I need to train and add this one to my poor zangief skills :)

  • Chris Hu: "Skies, Pro-tected"

  • What do i have to do to get that Gief theme its so godlike

  • Could you use a similar idea with T Hawk's Raging Slash Ultra or does that come out to slowly/at too much of an angle with too small a hitbox to prove as effective? I should probably find out for myself <.<

  • Can you show your input data? I'm just curious as to whether your legit or not.

  • Comment removed

  • @NivMizzetFiremind Naw i've been following Desk for a while. It's just I did this first attempt with my Turbo on; couldn't do it without. Prebuffered ultra on H.K. Not hating!

  • @IvorytheSamoan NP ill remove my comment :)

  • @IvorytheSamoan Desk is legit, he did videos for EVO.

  • I want that gief theme!!

  • Hmm so what I'm seeing is no matter if u recover in regular move or ex move is null an void against his ultra. U pretty much have no choice but to take it.

  • @MasterOssy its mostly normals. you wouldnt take that much chip damage. of course, then he could just option select into a SPD..

  • Awh shit

  • I love you desk

  • .......................................

  • OH man OH god OH man OH god OH man OH god OH man OH god!

  • Plz explain this one desk

  • @eddybilly1 It's not like there's a link RIGHT under the video called "Details and notes"

  • Nice :D

  • wow

  • How do you perform this?

  • @KillerPoPBlues01 I would assume you safe jump them and buffer the U2. If the jumpin whiffs the U2 comes out, which will catch most backdashes and some reversals. If the jump hits (which is the other thing that'll happen if they block or do nothing) then the hitstun will cause gief to land later, and the U2 won't come out because it's too late from the buffering time.

  • WAT

  • 4th!! Oh wait...
