Notice there is no protection from tampering with computers. Only reading line by line of the source code can any code not authorized be detected. Getting access to the source code is extremely difficult. Therefore any computer can be compromised without anyone knowing it.

I'm no programmer but I know that even the best of systems can be hacked and source codes can be altered. The only "sure-fire" way is to go back to paper, or make these electronic machines spit out receipts that the voter keeps and can be recounted on another "un-corrupted" machine.
