Hm, this is not very true to their original philosophy... Their company philosophy says that they want to keep their products as cheap as possible by not spending any extra money on commercials or fancy store decorations. Seems like they changed that a little for the american market....
I went to Aldi yesterday and it's where I do most of my shopping. The food is just as good as the name brands! Their brand of shells and cheese is the chit!
Here in New York, their starting wage is $11.95; at least where I live. My starting pay for a competitive grocery store a mile away was $8.50. I know the employees have more roles in the store, but they always seem to have a positive disposition.
Cheap food doesn't always mean cheap quality or a poor work ethic. Aldi employees are very helpful, and since their stores are smaller than normal, they can help you more easily and are more knowledgeable about their products.
@BlueberryHearts Here in Austria the Austrian Aldi is also know for its good payment and decent working conditions. The employees don't bother you while shopping, but when you need something they are very friendly and helpfull. And the products are of real good quality: many organic products and localy produced products like milk, vegtables, meat... Here in Austria Aldi is very much established in the middle class.
Over 200 former and current Store managers have filed a lawsuit against Aldi for their Unfair Labor Practices.. You don't have to believe me just read the current news...
I love Aldi....I've been hit with some medical bills, and I have to say that I couldn't balance my budget monthly if it wasn't for Aldi....they have great food priced really cheaply.

On second thought, I want to run throught the store with a lighter and light those customers' hair on fire and laugh as they scream.

I want to nail my balls to the floor and walk away quickly, I'm so disgusted by this stupid commercial. My friend Lou really likes it. Dummy.
