  • The fire was like EXTREMELY hot and I loved the part when they water splashed at the people and the stage went down all of a sudden! :D <3 I stand infront at that time. It all seemed so REAL!

  • my kids n i experienced this. it was awesome!

  • When they said extinguish the flames the last time I went, there was fire on the water.

  • This should be built in Hollywood, the cool thing is that this attraction does not have a big footprint. It would fill in the gap that they made when they tore down Backdraft and the Effects Stages.

  • this was so real i went there alr it was awsome

  • good thing you were able to record this. when I was there we were asked not to film the attraction. :(

  • Thumbs up if you think they should replace Twister with this.

  • Wow the announcer in the starting of the video needs to speak better english and be more entertaining.

  • @jeremylim123 that's how Singaporeans talk. you'll get used to it when you stay there.. on the 3rd day. lol

  • @knc192003 did she say there is strobe or flashing lights?

  • I'm rewatching your videos, Greg.. Still wondering why they removed the falling ceiling effect (happening around 04:30 in this video) because that's the effect that caught me totally off guard! They replaced it with the boat falling...

  • Hi! Like your video very much! May I ask what video camera you used? Does the camera save the file in MPEG4? Were yoyu able to use Windows Movie Maker to stitch the parts together? Thank you in advance for your advise!

  • @gloquest I use a FLIP HD Cam it has editing with it's software.

  • @Bigbearsg Thanks very much for fast reply. May i ask what is the brand and model? Thanking you in advance!

  • @gloquest It's called a Flip Ultra HD Cam. you can get though Amazon for about $200.00 US

  • Lol the person who talked in my show said Mr Steven SpeelGerb LOL

  • It was fun, luckily I stood on the first row. :) You could feel the shakes and really great effects!! :P

  • After getting rid of Twister: Ride It Out, Universal Studios Orlando should get this. AMAZING!

  • They should replace Twister at Universal Orlando with this! I agree with @ofelixdacat but these types of shows are suppose to be for kids, so they can learn about the professions the film industry has to offer. When I was little, after visiting Universal Orlando I wanted to work with film. Now I attend USC for film, this is one of the toughest film schools to get in. If it was not for show like these I would be attending school for a job I would not love.

  • It was funny rather than thrilling.

  • Twister - Ride It Out, but themed to a hurricane in New York.

I agree that some of the effects were too "controlled", but you have to realize these effects have to keep running like this and reset itself for the next show 12 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Other than that, that seems to be a great experience overall. I was not expecting the windows to blow away or the ship at the end. Nice!

  • Looks like a cool show but...

#1 a movie is not made like this at all, there would be a lot of cutting, re-shooting, resetting and retakes.

#2 the effects we mistimed and off. The gas pump caught on fire before the boat hit the furnace.

#3 their would never be a hurricane in new york since the weather is not tropical enough

#4 many effects now are digitally done.

Other then that, if you ignore the inaccuracies, then I guess it is a good show.

  • @ofelixdacat Its for a ride. Its sorta like a literal version. It isn't for a real movie, so, they wont really put in much effort.

  • @ofelixdacat Its for a ride. Its sorta like a literal version. It isn't for a real movie, so, they wont really put in much effort.

  • @ofelixdacat

Who the crap cares about these things? It`s fictional made for our entertainment, and even though effects are mostly made digitally today, it would make for the most boring attraction ever if it followed "reality". The only point I can get behind is #2, but the rest doesn`t matter anyhow.

  • @revengeofthecookie I care. I've worked on many movie sets, and this is not how movies are made. Since this show is supposed to show audiences how movies are made, it is inaccurate and lying. If this show had nothing to do with movie making, and was just presented as a special effects for entertainment, then I'd be okay with it.

  • @ofelixdacat You're being nitpicky, ungracious and this frankly is a huge case of sour grapes. This is an amazing thrill ride, and no one goes in expecting the full moviemaking experience. Because if it was, then you'd be standing in line to pull cables, shoot camera tests, work on a screenplay, or spend half a year building a vfx miniature.

IT'S AN AMUSEMENT PARK RIDE! This ride is meant to thrill people, amuse them, excite them, and perhaps for some of the luckier ones like @nicklepa23,

  • ..... inspire them to find out more about this industry, and then become proper filmmakers. You're a killjoy is what you are. And as for there being no hurricanes in new york, I suppose by that definition, you'd argue that there are no such things as spider-men, the earth ending in 2012, polar icecaps melting, a love story aboard the Titanic, and 8 foot tall blue aliens.

"Other then that, if you ignore the inaccuracies, then I guess it is a good show." - Tsk I'd like to see you do better!

  • @enjolras I'm a killjoy because I speak the truth? And it is a fact that Hurricanes don't happen in New York, Spider Man doesn't exist, and the world isn't ending in 2012. You want to live in a sugarcoated fantasy world where everyone lies to you just to make you happy? Too bad, not everyone has to like the same things you do.

Wanna see me do better? Give me $20 million and I will build you a better special effects show.

  • @ofelixdacat

    With $20million, I can make a movie instead -_-

It will also be much more profitable to make a movie with that sum of money.

Furthermore, this cost will allow you to build a fairly good roller coaster. For example, Revenge of the Mummy cost $20million to build. I don't think anyone will want to invest so much just to create a special effects show like this.

  • @iilluuvvmmll You don't think anyone would invest $20 for a special effects show? Well Universal did, on this show. In fact, this show probably cost more than $20 million to make.

$20 million is actually pretty cheap for a movie or a rollercoaster. Disney style E-ticket rides usually cost $100 Million +, and so do most major blockbuster movies.

  • @enjolras I'm not Nitpicky, I'm honest. Movies aren't made this way. Lying to people is why people are ignorant. They should have just presented this show as a fun special effects experience, not a supposed demonstration of how movies are made. And it's not a thrill ride, it's a show. I didn't say it wasn't a thrilling show, I just mentioned that movies are made this way, so it's inacturate.

  • some of the effects seemed too "controlled" like the neon sign coming down into the building but it's definitely a change from the Earthquake ride. very cool!

  • Nice! Especially the scenery outside the windows, very realistic!!!

  • That was kinda cool lol

  • so the entire attraction is a hurricane disaster ride?

    Even twister can top this.
