Lots of good animes out there that have been cancled after 1 season or stopped because they didnt make enough money....or wasn;t enouh supporters....mind you a great % of pple who watch/read anime are kids and dont always have the ability to buy merchandies from their anime or help support it which is rlly sad cuz if i had the money and or job id most definitly be willing to give w.e it takes to make sure these amazing animes continue to run....its sad...becuz it cant always be done forever

It's very sad to know they didnt make a 2nd season of hikaru no go....it was an outstanding anime...one filled with determination for the game love and support...with the feirce competitions and battles of Go....ive always loved it and also the opening is really cool :D...i really would have loved to see Hikaru grow up and possibly be as good as Sai....that would have been really cool...and even him face toya majin...i get really depressed at certain animes that cease to run a good anime

I just started watching this, and to be honest, I'm surprised by how much I like it. Who would've thought a show about a board game could be so entertaining. Maybe its tone, the cultural differences, or just the fact that it can be seen by just anyone. Hikaru no Go is really hard not to like.

hikaru no go would have been much better if they added a romance element..js lmao. it was already set up and the creator decided to not use it. When you do realistic anime you gotta take advantage of realistic things. LIke how Bakuman is able to make its story so real by putting love and personal problems within the series.

Good grief, I love this story so much. I loved the manga, and I like what I've seen of the anime. It just blows my mind that they can make a board game so interesting. Part of it is the characters (a lot of it, actually. they are all so great) but the storytelling is well done.

I read the manga first and then saw the anime. One of the only ones ive seen in a while to actually make me feel as excited to see what happens next like the books without boring me. Plus i play card games and well this is like watching a good player vs another. you just get amped to see whats the next move. lol. Anyways the song is awesome and i actually have GO on my phone. Awesome time drainer on those long drives and doctor waits. lol

I don't believe this manga/anime was as popular as it should have been, it had a great story, likable characters, and was interesting. Unfortunately it never took off in the anglosphere and even the anime in japan ended before the final arc.

Just like what I expected from the replies, people compare it to some stupid anime which isn't even worth to mention. Please never ever compare Go to some card game. To some people, Go is their life. some pros even died during the game because they are exhausted.(I'm not kidding)

This is one of favorite anime. But the funny thing about this show is that if you watch this show from the beginning to the end, you notice that the animation gets better and better when closing to the final episode. There were so many differences in drawing styles, like there was one time proportion of Hikaru and Sai` s faces were strange.(round/long face, thick/thin eye brows, too big/too small eyes etc.)

hey you know the anime of hikaru no go has an open ending it ended before the last tournament and the manga does continue after the anime finished

and if more episoes were released then both were going to have the same ending
