you do realize goldfish is not good for lionfish right? it is very high in fat and low in nutrition. Didn't the fish store tell you to that? i feed my lionfish squid and silversides. its a much better quality and nutritional food.
awesome man or woman?? XD ill be buying one but until august, this fish will be my first salt water fish :D wish me luck, cool fish by the way and could you answer me somehing plzz is it hard to reproduce them?? thx
@RealRapMusic101 I would get a least a 75 gallon or bigger unless you get a fuzzy dwarf lionfish. Feed them krill shrimp and silversides, don't feed them goldfish all the time because they will die.
@RealRapMusic101 well your going to need at least a 24 gallon for a full grown adult, although they can be housed in a 12 gallon if small. but if you have a lion fish it may limit you on what types of fish you can keep with it. your going to need good filtration as they are not as hardy as starter fish or (damsel fishes). they need live food. and may also need a good cave but the cave opening facing upwards. there is not much more to it really, more to be focused on the actual set up of the tank
I would stop feeding it feeder fish. You could get a bad batch of sick feeders that can be eaten. And if they are sick and eaten your fish will become sick too.
This lionfish is a regular volitan. Some are more red and some are more black. This large of a lionfish could not survive in a 30 gallon. I would suggest at least a 75 gallon tank.
apparently feeding freshwater fish to marine fish can cause dietary disorder. Once lionfish are weaned off live fish it is better to use frozen lancefish and shrimp
i think you should keep the goldfish until it gets really big and older so they could not do so fast and so the meal would be more filling to the fish and you wont have to buy so many goldfish
kenken... goldfish are freshwater. goldfish are hard to raise... they need very good water quality to grow and about 10-20 gallons each. a decent sized goldfish can easily be worth about $30, while these are worth about 50 cents...
I feed mine dillys... Dead frozen fish six quid lasts six months

It's better in the sea - in a tank it just seems unfair on the poor little fish you throw in.

@seanlikesSubaru im not the poster, but...
1, any exotic fish store, they run about 200, unless you dont have a tank, for the full setup, your looking about 700.
2, Saltwater, thats what makes it so expensive if you don't already have the tank and all.
3, they will sting the piss out of you if you touch the spines on their back.
4, you need at least 55 gallons, you can find them used for like 300, or new for about 500. and maintenance on a saltwater tank is quite a bit..
dyeimpulse1 11 months ago
I doubt it but would 500L be enough for that fish?
yourbestwhatever 1 year ago
@yourbestwhatever Yes a 125 gallon tank or 6 foot long tank would be fine.

what kind of lion fish could fit in a 30 gallon, 130 litre tank?
MrTomster93 2 years ago
Possible a dwarf Lionfish. They are a little bit smaller and survive better in aquariums.
