  • epic top comments are epic! epic game is epic! FF FOREVER!!!!

  • The first Final Fantasy game that I ever beat! It's a classic that holds a special place in my heart.

  • dude, raise your hands all who thought the gaurdians of Terra were bullshit...it was a pain to get thru the first time, then try it several times later .-. annoying as hell...even if your at a high level

  • @boredhotgirl they actually weren't hard at all for me. They were actually pretty easy

  • A very cold feeling. Like an unexpected chill from an open window on a late summer night. Fall is coming. It's the end of life...

  • Can we not ruin the greatest masterpiece ever composed by arguing? Mozart couldn't come up with a better song then this. Everybody just shut up, sit back and listen to the best song in one of the greatest games of all time. Thank you.

  • ff9 soundtrack is my fave

  • My favorite game of all time. The art in this game was beautiful. The backgrounds they used were so vibrant and interesting and had this great painted look with an artstyle of a Ghibli Studios movie. And of course, another great soundtrack by Uematsu that is more melodic than ambient, which is his style, nails the tone of each stage of the game perfectly, painting each stage with perfectly in sync relevant emotions.

  • @ElevateState I can't believe I never saw it that way (the artstyle being similar to Ghibli's movies)...

  • This music makes me always think about .. when dieing .. where do we actually go?

    It's a bit sad and .. kinda of ... lonely and ...

All i know is that ... Final Fantasy Series has the best music i have ever heard. I love you Final Fantasy 1-9 & 10.

    Rest In Peace.

  • I think we need to start mass protests to bring back squaresoft. No more square-enix FFXIII CRAP!!

  • Who is the creator of Final Fantasy IX? I want to thank him for justifying my childwood with the best game i've ever played in my life, for all the emotion in game, for all the references that this game gave to me that helped me to be the man I am today. Thank you very much my friend, that God be with you in the end : )

  • @MikkieKing Hironobu Sakaguchi

  • In my humble opinion, this is the best song in the game.

  • Brings a tear into my eye.... forever my favourite game.

  • I love this music ff9 has the best soundtrack next to ff7 & Chrono cross

  • The remix for this song in Chocobo's Dungeon Wii is much relaxing and beautiful

  • @RosalinaAndPeach whats the name of the remix

  • @exacizzle Theme of the Floating Continent, from Chocobo's Dungeon Wii

  • Final Fantasy is an eternal masterpiece sorry haters! Peace and love.. oh wait a minute! nobody hates this..

  • I will always remember this song. It means a lot to me. It gave me many neat memories.

  • @Robben911back Hell yes.

  • @EstheriKodani Hell, yes what?

  • @Robben911back Holds interesting memories for me too. :3

  • @Riimp naaah, all of us that play ff are awesome :D~ haha

    btw, thanks :D

  • @29Sephiroth aah, i love the 9, 10 and 12.. but others are freakin' awesome as well :D~

  • The great highlight from that amazing double, hironobu sakaguchi and nobuo uematsu when the background and the deeds of the character were more important than how cool his hair looks, also that beautiful mix of happiness and sadness which they created, deep thoughts, deep feelings, a deep game by itself, a true masterpiece.

  • This song is amazing... kinda sounds like it belongs in Final Fantasy 7 though.

  • @Rokujyuuyonshu Wrong.

  • @bicycleboy55 I'm just saying it sounds more like the music style in FF7 and i'm not wrong, i love both soundtracks btw don't get mad X)

  • @Rokujyuuyonshu Once again, wrong, and I aint even mad.

  • @bicycleboy55 Let's just stop giving a fuck and appreciate Nobuo Uematsu's genius work...

  • @Rokujyuuyonshu ...From FF9, not FF7.

  • @bicycleboy55 Oh you're a retard sorry i mistook you for a FF fan LOL XD i'm dumb

  • @Rokujyuuyonshu I'm a Final Fantasy 9, and 10 fan, not FF7. FF7 is almost as bad as CoD

  • @bicycleboy55 FF7 is as bad as CoD? U fucking crazy??? FF7 is the best. First comes FF7 and then FF9 ;)

  • @Robben911back Flip that then your right :P

  • @Robben911back FF7 is indeed great, but its definitely overrated.

  • @Robben911back Im actually quite sane, and FF7 was absolute garbage. The story line made me very angry and I just stopped. i'de rather play Crazy Bus than FF7

  • @bicycleboy55 I do not understand how that storyline could make you angry. It is an amazing masterpiece. Everything is made so brilliantly. But whatever, I respect your taste.

  • @Robben911back You, sir, deserve my respect on your arguing capability.

  • @kupib07 I really appreciate that. Thank you, friend. You deserve my respect for understanding.

  • So enchanting, so inviting, so beautiful

  • Nobuo Uematsu is the absolute best at video game music...

  • I really love how the previous scene sets up Memoria. Loud, bombastic scene where our heroes are on their way to the final battle. Things seem hopeless as a swarm of dragons are approving then WHAM! the Cid, Tantalus, and Beatrix swoop in for a showdown with some sweetness and camaraderie. They break on through for an exciting boss battle and then...

silence. Then this song slowly fills the air and the scene is calm again. Ooooh man.

  • Can someone with magic piano hands please made a good cover for this song, it sounds beautiful on piano

  • Why this track makes the moment of the game so perfect?

Why just the melodie fills up the entire history, and everythin' makes sense with this music?

I just wanna know how Nobuo Uematsu makes such an awesome song, and makes the song fit perfectly in this part of the game......

    Why this is so perfect?

Why Final Fantasy is a perfect game?

Only we that played, and fell every single part and moment of this game can answer these questions...

Hail all Final Fantasers. U guys are awesome!

  • @victor020203 no, what you said is awesome.

war and greed and all kinds of bad shit wouldnt exist if everybody played ff ;)

  • @victor020203 bro U (!) are awesome for the perfectly interpretation!

  • @victor020203 final fantasy 7-10 are brilliant aren't they

  • @victor020203 They will never manage to make a better game like this one ^_^

  • @victor020203 I ask myself every day how they could have destroyed a perfect series like this...I loved them 'till IX. X was good, after all...XII was mediocre...XIII was simply shit.

  • i Wish to go to Memoria with this playing as i view past memories, and travel to the end of the universe

  • @trivium056

    Same..

I would love to watch the universe and its past from the beginning.

In memoria I would have all the time in the world too.. Shame about the monsters though..

  • The sound of bittersweet nostalgia...

  • favorite part is when quina thought he was drowning

  • I got my copies of FF VII and IX recently and playing them again after more than 10 years and still love them.

For me are these games something more, than usual game. It's an image of one whole gamers generation with briliant stories, characters, deep thoughts and beautiful unforgetable music.

Game creators should focus on these aspects again, instead of ultrarealistic graphics.

  • @TetaSorrow and even then they're not that realistic

  • This was always my favourite track from the game.

  • Listening to this makes me realise that one day all we are doing here will be nothing but memories. From these posts to this video to ourselves and to our entire universe, will be nothing but forgotten memories in the ancient past. I wonder what the distant future will remember about this time period? I wonder whether it will be distorted and even surreal, just like Memoria :)

  • haunting and beautiful

  • memories flooding in, im 21 now, played these games many years ago....ahh my youth is gone :( haha

  • The last OST Nobuo ever made exclusively...

  • @Antiformed You mean he doesnt make the OST for the FF games after IX?

  • @Ss1mega Before this game he made entire OSTs essentially by himself. Some people think this game may have overworked him to the point of him not being able to keep composing at this level. This OST (and the PLUS ost) makes up over a hundred and fifty tracks collectively, all excellent, and quite a few even orchestrated. I can't think of a single game with this many unique songs, let alone entirely by ONE composer on ONE project.

  • @Antiformed Yes, when I played this game I noticed every new location I went to the BGM was very unique. To every location. The feeling I get just hearing the music its just so nostalgic. Honestly for a video game song to do it, its speechless. Im sure Im not the only one. But really this game is great and the OST is great. I miss my ps1 days...

  • Unbelievable....there is simply no words to express this outcry of emotion....it brings me to my knees in my mind....the chords, the total overall feel....it is unexplainable.....

  • I feel like this is the theme that really embodies our nostalgia of Squaresoft, as we watch the slowly burning empire of Square collapse under its own mistakes...

  • @Antiformed Wtf Squaresoft? You're an idiot, it's Square Enix. :/ the entire Final Fantasy story was designed, and is owned by SE, where did you get Square Soft from? go do your research.

  • @Azurashei ... Your comment just made me die a little inside, man.

Square Enix is the result of a merger which happened after the release of Spirits Within. When Square made good games like FFIX, they were still called "Squaresoft" and Tetsuya Nomura was not in charge like he is now. He was a monster designer and part time character artist.

  • @Azurashei Sorry, but YOU are the one who should do your research. It is Squaresoft. That guy under is right. Why attack him? Poor fellow. Square-soft has made all Final Fantasies up to the 10th I assume. Now Square-soft has merged with Enix.

Anyway, I may be wrong, but in this case Final Fantasy is produced and made by SQUARE-SOFT. I hate people like you who attack people without proper evidence.

  • @Robben911back Actually FFX was Enix. If it was Soft it would have had more challenges to it lol

  • @R0wboyz Ah, exactly. I have not been playing FFX that much and it sure is a long time since last time I played it.

  • @Robben911back Yah. It just seems like so much time has passed since Final Fantasy was still amazing. Now it's kind of just point and click instead of run around do this, go find this, figure out this riddle and all that good stuff. I'm happy i have emulators to play the old ones over again :D

  • Square Enix is a merger between Enix and Squaresoft. Squaresoft preceded Square Enix. Get your fact straight.

  • this is hands down one of the most beautiful pieces i have ever heard thank you so much for uploading this

  • this 1 should be my 5th most fav song in ff9. love the enduring music and tends to make u reminisce on the past

  • (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

  • i was this game in the middle of the nite and i reached memoria for the 1st time and when i heard this music..i saw my memories of my past come 2 me...it sent chills down my spine

  • @mrlinkman i found this theme did not get mess up at all even with the random battles.

  • I first played FFIX when I was like what? around 8?

Then I play it now, and I get an entirely new respect for the series!

  • This song is SO Final Fanasty 7

  • @arklaed no, this is ff9

the game with the most epic sountrack ever!

  • loved the music hated how the random battles messed up the flow

  • this is my favorite theme of dungeon among all dungeons out there in FF series, the settings is mysterious and the atmosphere gives you unexpected memories and you are lament of that. To sum up, it's a masterpiece of merging of agony and darkness.

  • @rainza2008 I played this game from the beginning again couple months back and it still has that same great feeling.... truly one of the best RPGs to be made... a pity now these RPGs focus on graphic so much

  • I wish I could forget everthing about this game so that I could play it all again without knowing what's going to happen.

  • What a beautiful music...

  • the song... is... familiar? o-ó

  • play it many times...

you'll never got bored in it.

  • I can't describe in words how nostalgic is this, because it's amazing beyond words

  • i remember the days when I level grind just to level with each of the bosses.

  • to be 5 all over again this was my first game and look at me now 13

  • 0 Dislikes =)

  • ah to be 15 again

  • Im 14. when i was 6 i always saw my brother play ff7 8 and 9 I never played them because at the time i was interested in mario. a few months ago we got the ps3 slim and they downloaded ff7 8 9 off psn store.... i now know what i was missing out on. these games are amazing :D

  • @superman3343 I saw the 4 years my brother play (I could not read xD)

Then I started to play and fell in love (L)

The best FF of history forever

  • @superman3343 ohh god i wish every child your age would play these games and see these masterpieces

  • @anallsen to bad call of duty took over :(

  • @superman3343 Never played CoD, Never will. Terrible game.

  • @bicycleboy55 yeah ur better off if u don't XD

  • Thank you, guys. Im appreciating to have my comment top rated...I am a huge FF fan and love the games. Im very glad that you guys liked my description of how I felt on New Years Eve while at Memoria. Huge memory that I will never forget. As of today I still have the picture of me sitting there in my dark room playing it while fireworks were crackling outside.

  • you know what i hated about this place? how the boss fights showed up as random encounters. like, you're just walking along and then BOSS FIGHT. it freaking sucked!

  • @deidaracloud It wasn't really random it always occurred at a specific spot on the map.

  • uematsu came from composing music limited to 8 bits to this. incredible

  • Am I the only person who thinks disk 4 should have contained more ?

I mean, there's almost "just" Memoria in it. Compared to previous discs, it's strange...

Maybe they didn't need more for the story, but I WANTED MORE FF9 ! :-p

Could have played this for all my life ^^

  • @erhablablam I would say so, but don't forget that it had so "few" things cause it had many FMVs including the infintration to memoria and the ending scene. But still it was an awesome game. The only three things that "survived" though were Vivi in Kingdom Hearts II and Zidane and Kuja in Dissidia and 012...

Two bad that both of the new games had absolutely no storyline... I mean come on! Light and Darkness in one and Cosmos and Chaos in another? It just sucks!

  • this is such a meaningful track which is probably what makes it so good, but at the same time even if you didnt know what area it was from in the game or indeed even what game it was from it still has that same haunting but beautiful effect.

  • The end. Beautiful.

  • this music sends shivers down your spine

  • To be*

  • This is such an unusual tune. Beautiful, but unusual. I can't decide if I'm supposed scared, sad or intrigued.

  • This has to be one of my favorite final dungeon themes in the series.

    Birth.. Continuity and eventually death.

The song just gives me chills..

  • @camil2003 it was cool how it got pieces of the worlds history and placed them in this odd caslte, and u actually travel to the end of the universe

  • Listening to this in front of a fire, while the storm rages just beyond a sheet of glass.

  • anyone know how catch the partition of this beautiful music? I search everywhere But noothing ...

  • I got mad pissed getting into random encounters here. It interrupted amazing music.

  • @MiraLove Most definitely, I think it's a lot more amazing when they keep the music for the boss fights/random encounters for certain parts of the game. Like in FF7 with Aeris' theme and you fight Jenova.

  • I played this game so much when I was a kid a long time ago, and yet I can remember the feelings, the atmosphere and joy I felt when I played, and that´s enough to make me want to play ffix again,YEAH.

  • @BigBangNeo

After replaying this recently, the atmosphere is just as strong as it was the first time. Although slightly different because now I understood the more adult themes of life and death, lost to never be returned better that are part of this area in the game.

  • "I will never... Be a memory"

  • this has to be one of the best tracks of the game

  • haha i listen to this song whenever I cant sleep at night... it always puts me to sleep :) such an amazing song :)

  • I love the Melody/Beat that starts at 1:30 That was my favorite part in the song while playing the game. I always stayed in the cave for like 2 to 3hours, just listening to that melody. But then i realized that i was wasting my time, So i rushed out of there before the music could take me.......Jese!! Why does it have to be so addictive??? O.o

  • One word to describe this theme? - "Apocalyptic "

  • @HmongYou2Tube "Melancholy" works too.

  • Very FFVI like.

  • it's not the same play this game when you are a teen that when you grow..its different, the fellings, the emotions, the intensity, all its completely different...you now when i hear this song i remember all those good memories

  • @ecos715 i still can enjoy those memories! I have the game! :') and i promise I WILL TAKE EXTREME GOOD CARE OF IT! LIKE I ALWAYS HAVE WITH MY GAMES!...even now 17 yrs old....i love that game more than my parents LONG LIVE FINAL FANTASY...7,8,9

  • @ecos715 meh i actually enjoy games more now that i ve grown than when i was little ;p

  • @ecos715 I understand what you mean. The game and the memories are tied to a specific time. Playing it over doesn't bring back the same feeling. But its still worth playing over.

  • I can hear snippets of other ff games in this

  • @MissPiddelin I got tired of FPS so I bought final fantasy 7 - 9 on the playstation store I'm currently playing them man I missed playing them I was in middle school when I played them its been about 10 years or so and I still remember where to go lol

  • I remember when I was a kid and it was around 6 pm and darkness had fell down on ground level. It was New Years Eve and I sat down on my chair playing this game, I arrived at Memoria while it was gently snowing outside. My room was filled with an odd eerie feeling. I had a break and went outside taking a walk and listening to fireworks. Slowly walking back home I saw through my window and I could see my TV and the menu screen. Nostalgia :( I will never forget that memory.

  • @Robben911back Listen. Nostalgia is better than real life. We cray cheap tears for the old days. It's not even so much as the moment itself, as who we were when we experienced it.

  • @Robben911back Damn dude. I dunno why, but I can visualize that so well. I had similar nostalgia when I was a kid. I would watch my big brother play through Final Fantasy VII all the time. It never got boring. So I discovered I still had the copy he had and played through it when I was about 13. 7 years later. It got me hooked on the series. So I came across this game a few weeks ago at a local game store for 25 bucks. Still in the process of playing it. It's not as good as FFVII but damn close

  • @Robben911back who knew people's life with video games could be pure poetry.

  • @superman3343 The Final Fantasy games are the only ones which make me feel like this. They are powerful.

  • @Robben911back Yeah. I will never forget the feelings of my first playthrough... it was like MAGIC! no video game ever seemed that good....(probably because they are only making 1st person shooters now...)

  • @HomoForever Fool. Music is known throughout the world as the single most emotive factor for a human. What we feel when we listen to a piece of music, what it makes you think, this is what a good piece of music will mold for you. Do you think that films and games have huge music budgets for nothing? Do you think that the names Mozart and Bach are famous for writing mere tunes? No. They are famous because of the range of emotions they could invoke in their listeners.

  • @MissPiddelin

I used to play with my best friend every holiday Final Fantasies and other jRPG's for the entire week.

    Oh those good times.

    If you're dutch who knows.

  • keep it up no dislikes thats what im talking about

  • Nostalgia <3

  • 8 years...

  • My ex used to watch me play this game in the living room when we were still together. Sometimes I play this song to remind myself of the day I played this area and she watched and we talked. One of our last happy times together. Makes me choke up with sadness.

  • @iggy3200 i feel your pain

  • @masterofpuppets2092 Thanks for recognizing those feelings. It fits this song so well. It's helped me grieve a lot and I feel better.

  • @iggy3200 its a truly great song, i love playing some of them when im trying to fall asleep

  • it took me forever to find that fucken ribbon card here...

  • @mariereneest from the lady in the wall near the dragon boss? lol yeah she was tough

  • it's depressing ;_;

  • this brings back memories...like WHERE THE HELL ARE MY MOOGLES!?

  • @lachose219 ahhh, I see, thats true, now that I think of it, the bell sounds very similar.
