Imdb has: "Bye Bye Blackbird" Symphonie No. 7 Beethoven 1st Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven Arranged by Anthony Bowles "Brahms 1st Symphony" Composed by Johannes Brahms "La Belle Est en ce Jardin D'Amour" (Traditional) Marche Slav Composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky "Impromptu in B-flat, Op. 142" Written by Franz Schubert
Can anyone help e pout, I am looking for th name and composer of the song they play when she finally dances with Bughatti, next to the sea. I have to give a class and I need this music asap. Thank you.
Can someone tell me the name of a song from the movie? It's the one where Isadora is dancing on a table and a bunch of Russian men are singing this song. I recall that they said, "Hi, noolie, noolie." Thanks for any info.
Sounds like a very folk song, but the name of the song is "Kaliynga" from 1860, and the composer Iván Lariónov "...Ay-liuli, liuli, ay-liuli, liuli..."
Ah, little pine, little green one, Don't rustle above me, Ah, lully lully, ah lully lully, Don't rustle above me. Little snowberry, snowberry of mine! In the garden, raspberry, little raspberry of mine! Ah, you beauty, pretty maiden, Fall in love with me, Ah, lully lully, ah lully lully, Fall in love with me. Little snowberry, snowberry of mine! In the garden, raspberry, little raspberry of mine!
But the actual content of the song cannot be translated, as it possesses many Russian expressions and words that can hold a double meaning and have no equivalent in other languages.
Regarding the style of the flutemusic, I'd say Claude Debussy or André Caplet. Debussy wrote music for flute (and harp, but I'm not quite sure of that) to a cycle of would-be ancient Greek poems by Pierre Louÿs, called "chansons de Bilitis". This music has the same atmosphere. There are two versions of the "chansons": one is the words put to music (very beautiful)and one where the poems are recited and there is a sort of entre'acte music for flute & harp in between the poems. Maybe?
I love Bye bye blackbird too, in fact , I'm obsessed with that beautiful interpretation. Unfortunatelly, in the original soundtrack they changed that great and sweet singer for another one... and about the piece that I'm looking for... I was reeding the credits too, but that flute piece isn't there(I know all this compositions). Thank you for your time!
Just saw "Isadora Duncan. Je n'ai fait que danser ma vie" By Elisabeth Kapnist. Amazing woman, he keeps on freeing souls, long after. Thanks for the Video!
How lovely to see this clip. Thank you. It contains footage that was not in the original USA release. 'Isadora' (or 'The Loves of Isadora' as it was called in USA release) is one of my favorites and launched an almost 40-year interest in both the actress and the dancer. Thank you for stoking the flames.
hmmm... i just dug out my video. I see all the titles but I don't think any of those match up. Maurice Jarre is listed as composing the sound track, so is it possible that particular scene is one of his original works? It does sound like a classical piece though... For some reason I thought I remember Gluck being in the movie as well, but he is not listed. You've got me curious now!!
oh this is one of my favorite movies! i have it on video but its in a box in storage from moving at the moment. :(( i know it lists all the composers either at the beginning or end of the film. when i dig it out i'll post if i can figure it out. (unless you did already??)
The greatest female acting performance of all time. And this is one of my favorite scenes from this great movie which I'm proud to say I own.

Little snowberry, snowberry of mine!

Ah, under the pine, the green one,
Lay me down to sleep,
Ah, lully lully, ah lully lully,
Lay me down to sleep.
Little snowberry, snowberry of mine!

Vanessa is extraordinary in this film...could you please post the scene in which Isadora talks about being "a phantom ship?"
If you can, would you post the entire film?

Hi, these are the credited "dances" from the movie, but you'll need to check them out yourself. ;)
Schubert: Impromptu in B Flat, Opus 142
Sousa: "Washington Post"
Chopin: Waltz in A Flat, Opus 42
Beethoven: Symphony No.7 in A
Bach: Rejouissance from Suite No.4 in D
Scriabin: Poeme, Opus 32 No.1
Borodin: Symphony No.2 in B Minor
Tchaikovsky: Marche Slave
Let us know if it's any of these. I personally loved Bye, Bye Blackbird the most.

Marvelous how, in just this short clip, Ms. Redgrave manages to capture Ms. Duncan's joie de vivre and zest for life. What a sterling talent.

Why must Isadora have an English accent if she was an American?
MarianneEmmanuelle 4 years ago
I don't think it's meant to be one. Ms Redgrave's "play on" is definitely pronounced "arn". Hardly her own accent. Don't know the composer.
