so this may be a silly question but what other languages can you learn at the school in Paris, is it only French? because i got the brochure but it was only for the Australian schools (which is where i'm from). how do i get a brochure for the Paris school?
@rowmosapien - At EF Paris you can only study French and at EF Sydney / EF Brisbane you can only study English. Sorry you had trouble finding information, and it actually even took me some time to figure this one out. Australia is a bit of a special case but you can see the online brochure at EF dot com/ils/e-brochure/?mc=ww and then you can enroll by contacting EF Dubai at phone +97144462510 or email ef.admissions@ef.com - Bonne chance! Matt @EF YouTube Team
THAT AWESOME MOMENT WHEN YOU KNOW SOME PLACES OF THIS VIDEO CAUSE YOU ARE BORN IN PARIS ! Thanks for this video :) i dont live in Paris anymore but i miss her.
@evaporationisitchy - Hi there, Albin Holmqvist the typographer used so many different fonts for these films. You can visit his page on Vimeo, at Vimeo dot com /albinholmqvist and you can read what he has written there (or ask him). Good luck Matt @EF YouTube Team
@EpicCrust - Yes for any nationality interested in learning French! If you're in the UK you can call EF UK to get a free brochure on 0207 341 8777. Best Matt @EF YouTube Team
@EF thank you. I'd be a beginner but have spent a lot of time in france so i'm familiar with a lot of terms. is there courses available for beginners?
@EpicCrust - Yes, there are 6 different levels and one of them is "complete beginner". On your first day you do a test to see if you should count as a complete beginner (level A1) or elementary level (level A2). Those are the two lowest levels out of six and you'll be placed in the right group with others the same level as you. Bonne chance! Matt @EF YouTube Team
@ktiger27 - EF Paris offers separate classes for 3 different age groups: 16-18 (high school students), 18-24 (university age) and 25+ (mainly professionals). The adults study in separate classes but the common areas are ...common ;-) EF Paris just moved to a new location closer to the Opera and Galeries Lafayette, you can see photos on the EF Paris Facebook page (Facebook dot com /EFParis). Good luck! Matt @EF YouTube Team
@EF So for 17 year olds, is that high school class hosted year round? Could I come two months next spring or is the high school class only in the summer?
@ktiger27 - You can come any time of the year. You can start every other Monday and stay for as long as you'd like, from 2 weeks to 52 weeks. We always welcome students 16-18 but in the winter we don't have so many so you may be mixed together 16-24 years old. There are lots of people 17-20 so I'm sure you will feel it's OK. Check out the photos on the EF Paris Facebook page you can see that there are quite a lot of young people (and the pictures were taken in Jan). A bientôt! Matt @EF
@YoExperimento - Yes! It's easy to go to London, Bruxelles, Marseilles, Nice, Geneva, Amsterdam from Paris - you can take a direct train, and EF organizes many trips too. Enjoy! Matt @EF YouTube Team
@wannabreakout - It's in the 9th arrondissement near the Opera and Galeries Lafayette. The school recently moved to this location, it used to be located in the 10th. The new school is gorgeous, with nice classrooms and nice student areas. It's not possible to post any links here, but on the Facebook page of EF Paris there are photos! Facebook dot com /EFParis ....Good luck! Matt @EF YouTube Team
Of course you're not going to do exactly the same than in the video. But about the macarons, the little restaurant, the monumen you can visit, the eiffel tower in the night, the "marché", the bakery with this famous "croissants" and "pain aux chocolat", etc... THAT'S TRUE! obviously it's not going to be the same colours like in the video and not that quiet but you actually can do all of these things and really enjoy your trip. Paris is wonderful. :)
@xXPurpleLoliTranceXx - Have you been there before? I lived there for 3 years and it was an amazing city! They are very polite, and it's important to be very polite when for example you ask for directions. Otherwise the Parisians thing that YOU are rude, and they are rude back.... Best, Matt @EF YouTube Team
@xXPurpleLoliTranceXx it's true. what they don't show you is how many africans and middle easterners inhabit in Paris, and how sketchy it can be. Pickpockets are common, and everyone has his/her hand over their belongings at all times. the people are nice enough, but the expenses here are ridiculous. to pay almost 13 bucks for 2 eclairs is a bit of a stretch. overall, it is a beautiful city, but i really wish that people can see how it really is.
@sakura9624 You could apply a lot of those things to many European cities. If you're earning in euros then things don't seem as bad as when you're earning in US dollars and converting. As for the "africans and middle easterners", what bearing does that have?! There are also many British and Swiss people there.
@sakura9624 You obviously don't know how it is... If you buy two éclairs 13 euros you're a lost tourist^^ Paris is filled with wonderful and simple, elegant bakeries and you had to go to a luxurious one in the center... while in most of them an éclair would be 2 euros, a baguette 80 cents... As for african people they are mostly in some northern district especially 18th and 19th (not talking about suburbs), but it's such a cosmopolitan and open city contrarily as you may think...
@xXPurpleLoliTranceXx ... stuck up city... are you talking about London or what ? In Paris normal people are only rude if you address them like an average anglo-saxon tourist not giving a shit about the french language and not even trying. In Paris men and women are free to flirt with each other, women have that sexy natural looks and people don't all look like hipsters. It's the real ultimate beautiful-chic city and that's why everyone in the world loves it. Unbeatable.
Me incanta, me gusta! C'est beau! Adorable comme le nez d'un bébé ou comme un morceau chocolat...ce n'est pas une vidéo...cela c'est du style, c'est classe!
@RisaValentine - At EF Paris, accommodation witha French family is included in the course price. But you can pay extra and stay in the student residence instead. So yes the student residence costs a bit more. Good luck with your plans! Matt @EF YouTube Team
@EF I was wondering if you could tell who plays this catchy, happy, wonderful tune? I know it is kind of a random question, but I really like it and perhaps you could help to find who made this song. Thank you so much and Happy Holidays!!!
@VaDiskovich - The song was especially composed for these EF films, and the name of the song is "Live the language". But you can only find it in EF's videos... happy Holidays Matt @EF YouTube Team
@EJES2000 - Yes this video is about a girl who goes to language school with EF. You can stay either with a French family or stay in a student residence (like the girl in the video).
French shouldn't be overly expensive to learn, you can take free classes online through a lot of Canadian schools. Just be aware that we pronounce things very differently, the language gap is a fair bit bigger than American and British English, if you know any Portuguese it's similar to the gap between Brazilian and European Portuguese. The hardest part about learning French as a Spanish speaker for you will probably just finding time, the vocab and grammar are extremely similar.
I love EF Tours!! My husband and I actually met when I was on one!! :) I only wish there were these types of tours for those of us who no longer go to school.
@tasteofextravaganza During the winter holydays , it's cold but there are a lot of things to check out , like '' les vitrine de noel " and " les Champs Elysee'' IT'S magic there are lots of lights and christmas decorations It's more than amazing and it's so romantic ! Or u can go in June but If I were you I would spend summer in the south of France ! it's more than amazing ! hope it helps u a little bit
For the people who don't know the language, and I guess the videos mostly supposed to be for them the titles are changing too quickly. I couldn't finish reading one as there were another one.
@zarifbakir - Thank you for your comment! Actually our intention with these videos is just to show the feeling of studying abroad, and of learning new words wherever you go. The video was not really made as study material where you sit and watch the video and learn from the video. For the full experience you have to travel to Paris! ;-) Have a nice day Matt @EF YouTube Team
real life isnt like this though.....dont forget about the ages you'll spend in the prefecture trying to get your student visa approved by an old grumpy lady who hates foreigners....
I've watched this video countless times now. I just can't get over its beauty in the setting, the cinematography and the typography! This does not help my wanderlust, but gah, Paris is so beautiful.
I'm going there in september and I'm only 13! No joke we r staying there for 2 weeks then back to school and let me say it's Je T'aime not Je 'Taime!! I speak french!
I studied at the Sorbonne last summer and this is so representative of what I did in Paris... Walking through Rue Mouffetard, watching the fireworks on Fête Nationale, sitting in the Tuileries, getting lost... There is a feeling about Paris that one cannot quantify. Incroyable.
@ljvasey - the films were directed by Gustav Johansson, filmed by Niclas Johansson and the typography is by Albin Holmqvist Best Matt @EF YouTube Team
Dear EF: I want a personal response PLEASE!!!!. For some reason no one can help me with this. 1) Im 16 and I'm going to Vancouver this summer, will I be completely independent? 2) In Vancouver, will I have a dorm? Where can I see photos and info? Please help me :)
@AntmILoveYou - Hi Carlos, EF Vancouver offers both host families and 2 different dorms, so you can choose. As for independence normally you are independent at EF Vancouver but EF Colombia also organizes group departures - call EF Colombia to get personal advice, the phone number is listed on the main page of EF's YouTube channel (it's +57 1 616 1130). You can also visit EF Colombia on Facebook at ...book. com/ EFColombia or visit EF Vancouver at ...book. com/ EFVancouver Best Matt, EF
@EF Thank you so much! I cant believe you actually replied. Sadly I do speak Spanish so Colombia would be the last place I'd go, and im going to Vancouver with some friends this summer. By independent I meant going in and out the school when I want to..? :) And also, the dorms in Vancouver are inside the residence or some hotels near by.?
@AntmILoveYou - I meant that you should contact your nearest EF office who can help you with your questions, and since you live in Colombia you can contact EF Colombia - they can help you arrange your course in Vancouver. The Vancouver residences are in separate buildings not in the school building. One is maybe 10 minutes away and the other is further. You can walk around freely after class.

I find that the trick is to look and act absolutely helpless and to jump up and down with joy every time they do something for you.

I studied at the Sorbonne last summer and this is so representative of what I did in Paris... Walking through Rue Mouffetard, watching the fireworks on Fête Nationale, sitting in the Tuileries, getting lost... There is a feeling about Paris that one cannot quantify. Incroyable.

nice video!
there is only a mistake with the right and the left~
But it's well done =)
nanassse 9 months ago
@nanassse It's not a mistake - if you think about it from her point of view, she is going left and then right, as the overlay says.

I like that you used IPA, but you didn't mark the nasal vowels.

Dear EF: I want a personal response PLEASE!!!!. For some reason no one can help me with this. 1) Im 16 and I'm going to Vancouver this summer, will I be completely independent? 2) In Vancouver, will I have a dorm? Where can I see photos and info? Please help me :)
Carlos from Venezuela.
AntmILoveYou 1 year ago

AntmILoveYou 1 year ago
@AntmILoveYou - I meant that you should contact your nearest EF office who can help you with your questions, and since you live in Colombia you can contact EF Colombia - they can help you arrange your course in Vancouver. The Vancouver residences are in separate buildings not in the school building. One is maybe 10 minutes away and the other is further. You can walk around freely after class.
