  • I thought it was a trolling vid cause of the title lol

  • the thing about turtle beaches is, although you can hear the enemys footsteps, it leaves you no clue as to WHERE they are, this leaves you insanely looking around nervously

  • @KingOfAllFailz I slightly disagree, because once I got used to them, I could easily locate guys around me. The only real trouble is when they are above or below you.

Also, this video isn't to strictly promote Turtle Beach, but all headsets in general. They will all help out, some more than others. I personally go for the better/more expensive stuff, but for most people an X11 or whatever will do just fine.

  • @KingOfAllFailz Not if your headset is surround sound and the surround sound IS ACTUALLY TURNED ON

  • My giotek ones do the same thing

  • What about Astros?

  • @Shadowmaster0519 Astro's are good, but overrated IMO. The mixamp is pretty great though so It's a good all in one package if you don't want to mix and match the headset.

  • should i get a razer head set or px5 tb

  • @starcraft2dude1008 I haven't heard much about Razer's headsets but the px5 is pretty cool.

  • @xPwnzanichx thanks, but i heard the tb headsets break too easily

  • @starcraft2dude1008 None of the headsets I've owned had bad build quality, and none of them have broke while I owned them. If you throw them around and don't take care of them (any headset, any brand) then they could break at some point.

  • @koolkiidtre13 That just means you have really good listening :D

  • @rockstar5146 lol

  • nice kill soap

  • wat game were u playin looked lik worldatwar

  • @urface12343 Yeah, it's World At War.

  • If you answer my question I swear to God im gonna subscribe to you immideatly.

Im gonna get one of these and if you cold PLEASE tell me how it works and how i can plug it to my xbox?

    Thanks

  • @thomasseta Well it depends on what type of headset you get. A stereo headset just basically plays the audio more in the left/right speakers (depending on where the sound is coming from) which can help alot. A surround sound headset replicates a 360 degree sound field, so it's easier to tell where exactly someone is, aswell as in front/behind/above/below you.

  • @thomasseta As far as hooking them up goes, stereo will have the option to just plug the red/white audio cables to the back of your tv. For surround sound you will plug what's called an optical cable into your xbox (it goes in the power cable on the back of where it plugs in to the xbox). Also some hdtv's will have an optical out where you can plug it in aswell. Some of the surround sound headsets will also need to plug into an outlet to be powered.

  • U didn't come up with the phrase "the turtle beach advantage"!!!

  • @6hnow Actually...I did. I made this video over 2 1/2 years ago and since then a bunch of others stole the title.

  • Im about to use Ninja after watching that lol

  • What do you think about the Turtle Beach Earforce DDS surround sound expansion for any headset/headphones? I am currently looking at the MW3 Bravo headset with stereo not surround sound ( I know it's the same as the PX3) Anyhow do you think that processor is worth 50-70 dollars to turn my headset surround sound?

  • @terrysandroid I don't have any first hand experience with the DSS, but everything I've read about it is pretty positive. It's comparable to the Astro Mixamp sound quality wise, but it's also less diverse and really only works with TB headsets.

Personally I think the Bravo is overpriced. If you buy the dss for it though, it def will improve the sound quality (surround sound is pretty important), and I guess it will then be comparable to the PX5/XP500 and the Delta but for less money.

  • @xPwnzanichx Thanks! originally i had the TB PX32 and well stereo doesnt quite get the job done so yea

  • i hear all that just by my tv speakers

  • @michaelosully1 I've said it a million times: hearing something and being able to locate that sound are two diff things. Also, listening to this video (especially through speakers) is the same as hearing it through your tv speakers. The point of the video is to have you hear the footsteps and see how I (a person using a headset) reacts to those sounds and can locate them.

  • is it possible to not hear the footsteps? like, is there a switch or something to turn that off?

  • @vito2148 To not hear your own footsteps, or other peoples? Not sure why you wouldn't want to hear others footsteps...

  • @xPwnzanichx to not hear other people's footsteps. i'm just tired of spending money on a regular mic every so often since i share it with my brother. i really only want to know for talking

  • @xPwnzanichx thanks man i think i am going to by the x12's because i have a little money to spend haha

  • @zerosk83r14 Could be a number of things. Make sure the plug is completely plugged in/secure, make sure the computer volume is turned up and make sure you turn the volume up on the actual headset itself. If it's none of things, it may just be a defective unit...

  • @zerosk83r14 I'm not sure what you mean.

  • @xPwnzanichx want headset would u pefer

  • @XxxCRAZYGAMERxx Honestly it depends on how much money you have to spend. The best bang for your buck has always been the Turtle Beach x11 (now they have the x12)...but if you're truly looking for the best sound you can get, you're gonna have to pay quite a bit more.

  • Turtle beaches aren't for campers, rushers can use them to know to turn a corner or bait them out cause I use my x12s and they have saved my life u haters

  • Does this work with studio beats by dre?

  • ah turtle beach.... giving campers an edge over the competition. ever heard of real teamwork? your headset should be full of your teammates yelling positions and getting coordinated. but of course, campers and snipers have always played a different kind of game

  • @sentient23 Tell that to the competitive players who do make call-outs, use nothing but teamwork, and still benefit greatly from a headset. Next time please try and THINK before your spout off random trolling nonsense. kthnxbai :P

  • @xPwnzanichx there are retards who play games like these. i always call out the enemy position, claymores, the bomb, motion sensors, snipers and i usually tell them which site im covering and i tell 'em to go to the other bomb site but retards dont understand anything. %75 of the time people i make a call out to dont listen and they die or we lose the game. when ever other players have headsets and listen to what i say we usually crush the other team win the game.

  • @sentient23 Your an idiot, you want a shit load of chatter over the mic instead of hearing audio your supposed to but can't with a standard headset?

  • I've been called hacker a couple of times cus i can hear everytthing lol...i'll just go where u r and shoot u lol

  • if i used ninja and crouch walked most of the time then you cant hear shit soo lol

  • @KDT008 If you used ninja and crouch walked...that'd just be overkill, as ninja is completely silent in the last couple games. :P

  • @xPwnzanichx ninja is not completely silent it only cut the sound by 75% so you would still just be able to hear but crouch walkin cuts off walking sound all together.

  • @KDT008 For all intents and purposes, ninja pro in mw2 and black ops is completely silent, and has been proven on many occasions. If you turn your volume up to ungodly and dangerous levels, you might be able to make out some sound if the enemy is running on certain surfaces, but even then it will be near impossible to hear over the ambient noise and guns/explosions/air support.

  • @KDT008 it is completely silent it. they can only hear you when youre reloading and changing guns. is you have ninja pro in black ops you dont make any kinda sound when youre dolphin diving.

  • @tolerantgibon Yes, and it's much easier to locate the sounds when it's being pumped straight into your ears.

  • Without my turtle beachs. I fucking suck at CoD. With them? I own search

  • Popos 1997 is online lol that would fk u up the sound would atleast

  • turtle beach work great for bomb base because you can hear planting of the bomb far away without looking at the bomb

  • Sorry about that writing below as I was saying I have had my turtle beach x11 for a year and they really help to kill people around me and to improve my game.

  • I have had mine for 1 year and they rwa

  • steelseries xb5 ftw

  • so now we will all use nija and fuck that up for the turtle beach users

  • @dvd1731 Hey, that just means less last stand and etc. Fine by me. :P

  • @dvd1731

You can still soundwhore ninja, and who DOESN'T use ninja?

  • @dvd1731 learn how to spell before making recommendations

  • yeah man im getting some x41's soon!

  • WaW was the best CoD ever created and now is ruined by loads of stupid infection lobbies. FIX IT TREYARCH!!

  • Im debating weather or not to spend the $200 on the x41 because I seem to get a very similar effect when I turn my stereo system up pretty loud. I'm An experienced gamer and don't know if I should start with the x11 or just go all out and get the x41. What should I do?

  • lol i like how the highest rated comment was by the uploader himself

  • Its probably a gr8 idea for when I get my headsets and play CoD to put on Ninja Pro? =D

  • @kharymus Definitely.

  • cod world at war is the best game treyarch has made (tell me if i spell tryarch right or wrong)

  • @Ryan45ty treyarch

  • I was using my x31's when I watched this video:P

  • I'm thinking about getting a pair so I don't die as much from behind (70% of my deaths are from behind). How do you tell which direction theyre coming from? Like from the front or behind or from the left or from the right?

  • @TheMkw12 It does seem kind of confusing, but trust me it's easy. For example, if someone is to the right of me, walking. I'll hear his foot steps in the the right head phone. It is the same as if someone was talking to you in real life. Without looking, you could tell which direction hes coming from by just hearing the voice. Trust me, you'll know. I thought the same thing. :-)

  • @zZGoldenGamerZz Haha, alright. Thanks dude. :)

  • @TheMkw12 the surround sound becuase the sound will be coming from all over your ears instead of side by side

  • hey man thanks for the examples i got my first headset X11 great sound when something explodes you know what direction it comes in and silenced guns sound clear and for only 60 bucks at gamestop its worth the money. this video made me get these for having good sound.

  • haha i listened to this using an x11 headset :D

  • lol.... Even I could hear that on my laptops speakers with the volume of +1. While i was listening to music... Every headset can hear that, bad examples...

  • @SecondIdentityGamers Hearing sounds and being able to locate them are two different things. Also, I could've used examples where you can't hear a damn thing in the video...but then people would be like "wtf is going on?"...so I made a compromise. But alas, you're one of the many who enjoy being negative for no real reason, completely ignoring the fact that this little video (over the past 2 yrs) has helped many people understand how a headset can help them, and if buying one is right for them.

  • @xPwnzanichx yeh i could hear them to, but i didnt know where they were comming from, great examples!

  • @xpwnzanichx hey nice example which turtle beach headset are you using in the video? And whis is better the x41 or the x11? please respond

  • @WhataCrazyPanda This video is pretty old, and at the time I was using the TB X1's, which are the X11's, but minus a few features. Stereo headsets like that are decent, and get the job done, but dolby headsets work much better.

  • hey are the X11's good?

  • @cdmaster35 Yeah, the X11's are a great starter headset.

  • Haha how is down to start a clan with good people that only use headphones, and everyone to use ninja :0

  • What Do You think? Turtle Beach P11 headsets vs Trittion ax180?

  • @DrZFr3shKidd Are you getting it just for ps3? If so, the p11 looks pretty good, and has a couple more key features than the ax180.

  • CAMPER

  • @Gayonne TROLL

  • When ever I have turtle beaches up all the way I play amazingly! Be warned when talking to friends with the volume up all the way will allow them to hear the game so turn it down when talking to friends

  • @Lojkovic Yeah, I usually put priority of chat volume over game volume...though if I were to play seriously, turning up the game vol would def be more effective.

  • Lol I turned my volume up and heard the footsteps but then when you shot....

    MY EARS!!! :)

  • @ProTrickZz Haha...yeah, my sowwies. :P

  • @xPwnzanichx Lol it was because I was using earphones

  • 66 people don't have turtle beach headphones :P

  • poops1907

  • i just ordered me a pair i cant wait for them to get here!! i will be a little bet better in CoD and other shooter games now cuz i iwll hear shit! im only okay at CoD imy kd ratio was 0.89 and i now have my ratio as 1.05 now so i have a big improvement and this will help me out more... get a pair! only 60$ on amazon!

btw how are you supposed to know witch way there coming from hearing the footsteps? doesi t basically give it away from waht direction there coming from?

  • @KIllahRay1 You'll be able to locate most sounds, because they will be louder in the direction they are coming from, this effect works well with stereo headsets, and works even better with surround sound headsets. If a guy is coming from your left, you'll hear his footsteps in your left ear, and further helping you, you'll be able to tell that he's walking on metal stairs.

  • What gun was that

  • I hear the Tritton AX 120s are very good also they are fairly cheap.

  • Lol at first I thought this was a scary pop-up face video because of da low quality and you told us to turn the volume up but nice vid.

  • @VaconCamp Hah...nah, it's low quality because I made it 2 years ago, back in the days of the Dazzle. :P

  • shdud i buy tritton 720 over px21?

  • I've had px21 with expander, but now that I have astro A40 and yes they do make difference... The Dolby Digital 5.1 is so different from stereo expander. Your playing a match that's really quiet no shit you can just use stereo headset. DD 5.1 sounds are phenomenal

  • I got my X11 today =) now wearing them btw :D

  • Is the Turtle Beach Ear Force X11 Headset any good?

  • @LewisIsSoGamer The X11 is prob the best starter headset, and the biggest bang for your buck. It'll be perfect for most people...

  • You need to get used to these headsets or any of the other headsets. The first time I used my Px21, I was confused on which direction they came from. lol

  • @DeproDj Hahahahaha...you just made my day with your brilliance.

  • i had the black ops tritton headset it pwned that much people thought i was hacking or something, i now have turtle beach x41's they are pretty awesome too, but deffo they do gice you a leding advantage over non headset players, of course alot of it has to do with your wepon layout and perks, but as for hearing sneeky fuckers yeah you will pwn if you are a half decent player

  • that looks a multiplayer form of shi no numa

  • @BladeEdge77 It pretty much is. Shi No Numa was based off of the opening mission in World At War, which is also what this multiplayer Map was based off of. The map is called "Makin Day" which is a free downloadable day version of the original Makin map, which as at night. :}

  • @xPwnzanichx ohhh ok thanks for the info dude. nice rifle skills by the way too.

  • you kick ass with the Kar98k

  • @TheFuturemarine234 heh, thanks, I appreciate the kind words.

  • ninja pro 4 life !

thumps up if that is ur 3e perk on black ops

  • your pretty nice with that Kar98k

  • @XKprodigyKX Hah, thanks...I used to be pretty good with it, but haven't used a bolt action in quite awhile, so I'm sure I suck now. We used to have Bolt's Only private matches every Sunday, so I had alot of practice. :P

  • Can u hear people with ninjapro/dead silence ??? Reply

  • @gunrunners1 Yes you can hear dead silence easily, but ninja pro can only be heard on certain surfaces, and is mostly completely silent.

  • look at u camp nerd and why buy a turtle beach just turn up your tv volume ?

  • @xToOxRaWx I want to have your babies.

  • Ahh all the little kiddies bitchin about the price. GET A JOB!

  • @OmNomNomNomNomNomism thats the problem, they're just a bunch of trolling kids

  • i had my x11's hooked up to my pc.. i didnt need to turn up my volume! ^.^

  • Kewl

  • I use sony MDR NC 40's. the get the job done and they're only 50$. Oh, and They're great for music too.

  • I can hear those footsteps and shots perfectly and from which direction with my standard $20 headset meant for the PC. You can find adapters that enable them for xbox.

  • I ordered the x1's. Are they good?

  • So what if they have ninja

  • Turtle beach 4 the win

  • Ppl take this shit too seriously, half the time I''m crankin music and can't hear a thing, honestly do you remember your score from the first COD? No? ....exactly, in 3 months your silly emblem beside your silly score that represents 6000 wasted hours won't matter one shit... it's all about memorizing maps, that's all we keep doing over and over, cuz the first person shooter is %100 the same each time, change weapons and maps and add a dive or run feature and let's go, boring.

  • @RantzinmyPantz Some people like to play to win and/or to get lost in the game, a headset will help for both things. Also, the only thing that remains the same in an Fps is the goal...but that's what defines any genre, the main mechanics/goals.

  • @RantzinmyPantz umad?

  • you should change the title to the "headset advantage" many people assume that turtle beach is the best brand, but astro, triton and sesshieners are better.

  • @supernintendonerd64 The reason I titled it like this, is because I was using a turtle beach headset in the clips, and didn't get a diff headset til awhile later. I was going to make a follow up video, with clips from all the cod's and title it "the headset advantage" but I just never did. Also, I will disagree that those brands are Better, it simply depends on how much you're willing to pay. I mean the X11 is the best cheap headset, and the HPX is better than the A40, and both are TB.

  • i have the xlc's, but im getting x11's soon, and i can hear other people good. i can tell exactly what direction there coming for. i can hear people using ninja pro.

  • i hate how a noob can pay $200 for a headset to tell him where i am

  • @CrawlingCoconut Actually, a "noob" can pay $50 and know where you are...but they still have to kill you, in the end. If you put ninja/dead silence on, you'll be fine. Or maybe...you just run around not paying attention, too much?

  • I swear by headsets. In my opinion it doesn't even take an expensive one, the X1s are like 50 bucks and work just as well as any other ones as far as detecting enemies.

  • @goathead901 Yeah, the difference between a cheap stereo headset and expensive surround sound one, isn't a huge difference, but it is def a bit easier to locate the exact direction they are coming from, and the overall sound is clearer. No need to get an expensive headset, unless you're reallyreally into sound and gaming.

  • Using Turtle beaches or any other headsets/equipment to assist in gaming success is not a crime, if it was, they wouldn’t be on sale…if you have such a problem with them, either put on dead silence/ninja or buy a headset….common sense….

  • I can't wait to get mine to play MW2 using sitrep or ninja.

  • now the tb x31 is out and is it good? i had never had a headset before.. can it work for ps3 and 360?

  • @rspsgamer123 One of my friends recently got the x31, and he seems to like it. Though it doesn't work with the ps3 out of the box, TB now has an adapter of some sort that allows you to use with the ps3. There are also numerous wired options out there that do work with both, out of the box.

  • @rspsgamer123 I got the x41's the other day. They are really great and first game using them i got 30 for 3. Decent soundwhoring ability even on black ops. Not fantastic, but it can still be done.

  • @rspsgamer123 yes the x31's are by far the best headset, the sound is better than x1's it is wireless it has bass boosting effects and treble boosting effects and an all together effect. for 100$ if your serious about your gaming and sound whoring then the x31's are the way to go.

  • Hey great vid but you should consider using Astros a40 there MUCH better!!! But great job

  • @RicePattyFatty4 When I made this video, I was using the Turtle Beach X1's, but that was well over a year ago. Since then I've owned several headsets, and my current setup is using the Astro Mixamp and the Audio Technica AD700 headphones. The A40's are cool, but there are a few better options out there to pair with the mixamp, and they cost less.

  • lol u turn it up so loud that when u hear the plop on xbox ur like were the hell did it come from WTF LOL

  • turtle beach is decent, but not the best...but it does depend on personal preference. When i had my first Turtle Beaches i thought they were amazing and the greatest, i now roll with Tritton, and i've used both AX 720's and now have AX Pro's 5.1 sourround sound, i haven't tried astro yet, but i don't have a huge rush to get em.

  • @ILovePenisInMyBum Yeah, despite the title, this video isn't just about TB's, and I have owned products from each of the brands you mentioned. For the people new to headsets, I do suggest something like the TB X11, but if you want to upgrade...that's a diff story and I have several suggestions, hehe. Points is: Headsets are pretty god damn awesome. :P

  • haha i don't have trittons or turtle beaches , i was listening with my HeadRush Headset.... and i heard everything.. soo clearly :D

  • I got my turtle beach last night and I plyed black ops tdm on radiation and I heard a guy prime a Semtex from two buildings away

  • @peanutbutterjelly920 Yeah, the Semtex and Reloading sounds in Black Ops seem to be really loud.

  • i jjust got a turtle beach today. first thing i did is hop to search and destroy on MW2 and i got 22 kills and 3 deaths. all because of the footsteps and reloading. theyre amazing. I really recommend Tb's. I got x11.

  • Title of Vid needs to be changed to "The Camper's Advantage".

  • @Freedan111 And your Youtube username needs to be changed to "IAmATroll111."

  • @xPwnzanichx Lol owned him.

  • on tritton ax180s how do u put surround spun in them

  • turtle beaches ar the shit best headphones ive evere bougt :)

  • hi i just gut my turtle beach x11 and have a hard time hearing people

any suggestions for like perks or what so ever

  • @Alex19645 What game are you playing on? It always helps to use something like Ninja/Dead Silence...but the footsteps in black ops, for example, aren't that loud. Also, it will probably take a week or so to get used to locating sounds.

  • name of song?

  • @neverlastingworld "City Of Echoes" by Pelican.

  • My turtle beaches are so good i could here what the other team is saying

  • I use a headset with sitrep pro on mw2. Amazing!

  • i love to mix sensitivity 10 with my X41's. its like PWNAGE in sound form.

  • Sound whore

  • @canamkid650 Why yes, yes I am!

  • astro a30 all the way fuck turtle beaches

  • fuk dat tritton 720 all da way
