@2URBO2 If the bike has been kept in good condition you can get 0-60 in 3 sec. stock. (fantastic for a sport touring). Good luck on your search it took me awhile to find one.
@2URBO2 Obviously every bikes life depends on the care that has been given to it. That being said, even if only half ass maintenance has been done on that bike 60,000 km is nothing to that work horse.
@2URBO2 Yes a little, it does use oil, about 1 quart between oil changes. Some of that I am sure is due to leakage around the head. Sorry took so long to get back to you, other stuff going on here.
all XJ/FJ engines have a little ticking sound at idle. it's the timing chain. if you pull the clutch the sound dissapears. Seriously, these bikes run 200.000km's without a problem. And you buy them for 1000 euro/dollar whatever
Not much wrong with that engine, its idle is about as smooth as you will get on an FJ1200. It would be a waste of time to try and get it any smoother!.
Paid $2300 for my 92 FJ 2yrs ago. I since have put 14,000mi on it bringing it up to 68,000. I have no regrets, I LOVE MY FJ1200!

@racierx Hi, how does it pull? The acceleration. I have tried an old XS1100, which i thought was WILD!!
I am maybe buying a project bike of this type.

@NielsMF Everyone keeps telling me how reliable the FJ´s are. I got one 1990 model with 51.000km offered for 2000€. I´m going to buy it in spring.

that ticking is a possible simple adjustment of the valves.....it is a very common trait of the fj1200. I have a 92 as wel.
