You see, Dr. Nash was a Herbert Hoover fanatic, he practically worship President Hoover. The Japanese attack the military base during a time of peace and st the time considered allies of the US. When the two bombs were dropped on Japan, it was during wartime. Amazing, I have actually read the book and other works by Dr. Nash. Unfortunately, he would not be credible source. You see, Dr. Nash was a Herbert Hoover fanatic, he practically worship President Hoover. Although he had numerous factual foundations for his books involving President Hoover, his literature was considered bias to an extent.
You are looking for answers in the wrong places. Your view on the situation is just as bias as mine.

You claim to seek facts but I don't think you know to find them. Reading a book on a historic event is good, but it would be even more helpful if you did some background check on the author(s) of the book as well.

Who knows if more lives would have lost if the war was allowed to continue and only fought through conventional means. The Japanese attack the military base during a time of peace and st the time considered allies of the US. When the two bombs were dropped on Japan, it was during wartime. The Bombs served two purposes, to supppres the Japanese and show the other countries our weapon capabilities. It was a needed a evil.
