So logically, he would first take on a small primal form-a small blob of calamity, but once he fed on the smoke and the leveler's power, he took on the form of it's exhaust and became much larger. In other words, he becomes what he eats, which are aspects and catalysts of destruction-in this case, fire, smoke(cloud-like skin), oil (the blob), death (the skeleton).
