I remember being mentally drained after reading the book.....it evokes such powerful emotion...while the movie is never as good as the novel....this film was excellent! It is interesting to see how the characters were integrated.....and changed up for the sake of the films story line.

I just watched the vid again. Two things that I want to mention. 1.If you are familiar with Rob Lowe at all, you may remember that he was involved with a sex video scandal back in the 80's,so that just ruins him for that role in the movie. I know, its a personal issue. :) 2. I love the way the characters are all smiling for the closing of the song, It brings out the sense of hope that Stephen King presented in the novel.Was that intended? Nice touch!

The last part was intended, I wanted to "show all the angels," even the ones that fell.

I think it should be possible to separate the actor from the role he playing, that is why it is called acting. To me it irrelevant what Rob Lowe got up to off screen. It doesn't change the fact that he was really good in The Stand, especially in his scenes with Bill Fagerbakke.

Oh I agree,just with Rob Lowe specifically I have not been able to get by it. I was kinda young and naive so it affected me.He was really good in the Stand. Sorry I neglected to state how personal that impression was.

Ya know, above all else, it's just nice to know there are still some still on the side of Angels. Im agnostic but very spiritual. my church is my enviroment, my God is my consience,Im Canadian, I try not to harm, and work hard to provide. The economic mess we are all in right now..I dont know but maybe writers like Mr.King should be given a little more credit..

I agree. Even though in a lot of his books Stephen King has a religious zealot, he also somehow manages to always portray Christianity beautifully. I really don't consider myself Christian, but after reading The Stand, I don't think there is anyone who doesn't hope that they be on Mother Abagail's team.

He has a very realistic view of humanity. Although Mother Abigail represents GOD in The Stand it is very clear that it is the god of choice(if we listen closely). I appreciate this in his writing. Of course I could never say what Stephen Kings religious views are, but it is very apparent that he has a strong spiritual side. That is maybe why he meets mortality head on, in his stories. He is afraid of death like everyone else is but uses his writing to confront those fears. I hope it works.

Ive been a constant reader for more than 20 yrs. I would hope Mr King would see this as a tribute to his work. I was sad that a full budget movie was never made but I suppose the length of the story would prohibit that. All in all, the series was quality for television.

Your video editing is instinctive and emotional, you should definitely continue.

You know something? I was thinking this one day while reading the novel. If i was a director i would pitch the idea of making the movie as a trilogy. It seems appropriate because making it in one sitting would be impossible for one. And you might get pressure from the film company to hurry up and finish. The visualization ideas i get would make it into one hell of a movie. Lighting, cinematography the whole works. And i would stick to the novel! I want to see a full movie dang it! lol

after watching this video yesterday i decided to watch the actual miniseries. a vid that's less than 4 minutes long convinced me to watch a 4 hour miniseries. so thank you. i've seen the movie (i'm not kidding) easily 50 times.

and did i still sing out loud at everyone's rendition of 'baby can you dig yo man'? of course i did.

did i still cry actual tears at all the usual scenes? of course i did.

and did i bawl like a child at the end? of course i did.

Yea hes awesome. One of the creators involved in the amazing comic book adaptation recently said that Larry reminds him of Bruce Springsteen. Thats a good comparison but to me, Larry reminds me of Chris Cornell.

I am enjoying it, its the best. It definitely called me. At first the size intimidated me but then i just sunk into the novel and i was flabbergasted. Sometimes when i read it, i wish i could meet some of these people, the good ones. I wouldnt want to meet Flagg, lol.

It is King's best book of all, hand down and I own over 20 of his novels. This one is the scariest because it is the most believable by far. This kind of thing really could happen, believe me. The movie was good but it would need to be about 40+ hours long to be more faithful to the book, which is of course impossible. Enjoy The Stand and you will re-read it many times as I do.

I agree, this one has to be his scariest because everything in book could happen, its that realistically accurate. Chapter 26 really disturbed me. Absolute chaos, that is what wouldve happened if this actually went down in real life. There would be no order. No constitution, no man created equal. Just every man for himself.
