@beefdog88 Funny thing is, the RAM easily runs OC'd to 865MHz [from 800] (look at my channel for the full setup).
But I've tried pushing it to 4GHz before, with the RAM at stock 800MHz, and it doesn't even recover [the ASUS method] after not posting. I even have to clear the CMOS.
What clock speed (on the CPU) do you think is optimal for my 6950 2GB anyway? [I play at 1920x1080, generally with maxed AA and AF].
@AmH032uTuBe Honestly at that rez you shouldn't anything higher than what your running now. At this point the only thing holding your gaming performance back is your video card which is plenty fast anyways
@beefdog88 You think that my bottleneck is still the GPU? I've tried faster (doesn't really do much), but Arvutihull, DarkMx1000 and Stanbony all agreed with Arvutihull's original advice of 3.6GHz for the CPU.
Hmmh, I was recommended a CPU upgrade by most people.
That is a good score for a 920. Got a 990x now, but still think the 920's are great value for money and very overclockable.

@gazbrook Most 920's wont see this speed stable ever tho. lol

@beefdog88
Very true, I struggled to get mine over 4.2ghz.

wow what a surprise my 2500k at 5ghz score higher at 7.81 then your 920 with ht on and 4.5ghz to thats high for that cpu

Stable WITH HyperThreading on as well?
Wow.
You said to me before that you "cherry picked it" yourself.
So, I'm guessing you got a guaranteed chip from sites such as eBay, right?

@AmH032uTuBe Yes sir. This batch is known to put the extreme edition cpus to shame

@beefdog88 Still rocking on my Q6700. lol
At 3.6GHz - 1.33V
Is my chip okay-ish?
It was an OEM chip.

@AmH032uTuBe still keeps up with phenom II's which is pretty good im my book

Was going to go 2500K + P8P67 EVO.
AmH032uTuBe 4 months ago
@AmH032uTuBe Yeah your cpu shouldn't really bottleneck until you add another card or play at a lower rez
beefdog88 4 months ago
@beefdog88 So you disagree with the others.
Hmmh :P
I suppose the CPU enhancements would help with some IDE packages, encoding and game development [starting now really], though.
AmH032uTuBe 4 months ago
@AmH032uTuBe Not gonna lie...a 2500k would be a nice upgrade for ya if you do encoding
beefdog88 4 months ago
@beefdog88 And archiving and unarchiving :D
But would that be a valid reason for a whole CPU/MB/RAM upgrade?
Also, I was thinking about waiting for IB, but apparently IB isn't going to allow OC'ing... [So I've heard from others].
