@gladstonew - The scriptures of Judaism, Christianity and Islam all have God commanding someone to kill, and in the first two this command is specific as to who to kill and when. In Islam the command to kill is eternal and universal. This is one way that Islam different from any other religion.

@Wilbur665 Not really, as I said before the OT gives one very clear command to kill and it's not directed towards anyone that deserving of it. It depends on what parts you choose to follow with any holy text. If you are christian, you should be against the war yet it seems Christians were the ones that wanted to keep it going (not all of them, but the most vocal of the group) even though the bible says that when you are struck on the face you are to turn the other cheek. Thou shall not kill.

@Wilbur665 Christianity is based on NT and from what I have read the only real violence is in stories, no calls to violence that I can tell like there is in the OT (the Jewish text) or the Qur'an (Islamic text) but the call to violence is no more "eternal" in the Islamic one. It states clearly that certain humans are abominations and must be killed. Yes Jewish people can and often do ignore this and the same goes for Islamics. Don't make assumptions on a subject you know nothing about.

In Islam a Muslim is not allowed to openly ignore parts of scripture and may be killed for doing so. That actually happens. You seem not aware of that, so I called you ignorant. There it is. Based on your comments, I still doubt that you know much about Islam.

Have you read that bible of yours? The christian bible isn't much better. Know what the anti Christ is? No it's not a figure of power and control, it's a term for those that don't believe in jesus. @videosfromderelix - The Bible does not say that it's OK to pick and choose, and I do not say that it does. That does happen in the day-to-day lives of Christians. There is one example I have noticed, the Catholics who don't adhere to their teachings as completely as they are expected to, and are sometimes known as "Cafeteria Catholics". Of course some of their fellow Catholics disagree with them, but nobody gets killed for this.

Muslims who ignore the Qur'an after something in it is pointed out to them by a fellow Muslim can be charged with Apostasy, which carries the death penalty in Islam. In Christianity and Judaism this "violent manifesto" has faded away, but in Islam it happens daily, now, today.
