Funny thing about people talking about what happens after you die... the people doing the talking are not dead, and the dead themselves are silent on the subject.
The bible is a fairy tale.
Faith is belief with lack of evidence. I'm not an idiot, so I don't do that.
My favorite part of the story of Jesus, is that much of his conflict was with the religious authorities of the day. Many scribes and authorities of his day acted more like today's contemporary lawyers trying to find loopholes, hang someone on a word, and manipulate gods laws to fit their needs for power.
Jesus exposed hypocrisy and defied the authorities of the day respectfully obeying local costums and laws. They were blind and could not hear Jesus standing in front of them by ego's
Some defy god with their knoledge and technology only to create further destruction. The amish are neat in that they trie to stop this cycle by arresting their technological development to the 1860's (they're ancestors did enough)
Also, I think God has a little more understanding with Hell than just following the rules. It's responsibility with knoledge. When Jesus arrived, 3 wisemen (pagans) recognized and praise his coming. The so-called top religious leaders missed this event.
@flippyflappy1 Some may defile God with furthur technology, but remember technology is "amorale" (meaning it can be good or bad, depending on how one uses it). For instance, if I had a brick in my hand would you consider me productive or destructive? The answer depends on how I use the brick--whether I throw it at someone, or if I choose to build a hospital. As you can see, it is not the brick that is good or bad, but what i do with the brick. Hope that makes sense!
@HeisthatHeis With greater knoledge comes greater responsibilty, Humans have not evolved much over 1000's of years. Technology has evolved expotentially, now it is to the point that we will have nightmarish longterm affects. Nuclear energy for example- Chernobyl is unlivable for humans for the next 1000 years, a dillema that only modernity faces - There is nothing before 1860's (amish) that would have such a consequence to all future generations. I am not talking morality but consequence
I agree with most of your points and like how you went all the way to the beginning of humanity (it makes the most logic progession since it is where our story starts and our relationship).
I have two different spins on this, he was perfect in giving freedom of choice and free will. We exercised that will which had consequence (original sin). Once you have a knoledge there is no turning back and it is why we have progressed technologically (but more responsibility + consequence for it )
@pandaness92 Thanks for the encouragement! I don't see many people wanting to follow Jesus (in the Bible and in our own day) due to an argument that took place but rather because somebody showed what Jesus came to do. Jesus came to change us from being dead to being alive and many people forget this. Many teach that Jesus came to change us from bad to good, but Jesus came to bring Life!
if your going to quote a video you should really quote it correctly. he said if the is a god may he strike me down not if there is "no" god may he strike me down.
@ShadowsChaos Ah we may not be at the same section. Towards the end he claims that there is no God and there never will be. I haven't watched it in a few weeks, but the part you are refering to is before the part I am talking about I believe. And also I thought he was saying if there is a God, may he strike [Geroge] down.
@AaronH9111 To get into heaven, one must be perfect. This is the way we were intended to be when we were made, but because of sin now we aren't perfect. Thus, the only way to heaven is through Jesus. The Bible says that he forgives us of our sins and imputes rightousness (or perfection) onto us. Followers of Jesus aren't perfect, but they have perfection through Jesus, the Author of Life.
@AaronH9111 Also, in addition to the previous comment (seen below I believe) that I made, you get to keep your personality. Notice how throughout the Bible, the Holy Spirit tells the writers what to write, but yet they still keep their styles (e.g. Luke is very detailed in events becuase he was a lawyer, John seems to be ADD in 1 John as he jumps between topics {personality or age, whichever was the cause}). Although Jesus becomes a new identity, you are still keep your personality.
Ahahah wow. Dude, you're 17. It's time for you to grow up. I'm also 17 and living in New Zealand. I was raised in a catholic-christian family, sent to a catholic school and stopped believing when I was old enough to question; at about 10 years old. It's surprising that you can sit there and claim to know so much, when, in fact you don't know shit. Open yourself up to that possibility that there is no god and that Christianity is a religion founded on a philosophy of ideology and flawed idealism.
@HeisthatHeis Jesus did not give you life, your mother and father gave you life. If you're referring to a larger scale - the heavy elements in your body like nitrogen, carbon, oxygen etc. were made in the explosions of supernovae. 13.7 billion years the universe was mostly hydrogen and helium, there wes no signs of these heavy elements back then. I just want to know how these things fit into your scheme of life?
@tigrushina I believe that we are talking about two different kinds of "life", or at least I can see at least two. Yes I do think that Jesus did form the natural substances that I can from, but also we as mankind are "dead in sins". Jesus said to Nicodemus in John 3 that one must be "born again". At that point Nicodemus (a religious leader) was confused and asked if he should crawl into his mother's womb again. Jesus then explained that he brings life, that he frees us from sin and gives life.
u are one twisted kid if u think someone should burn for eternity for a white lie...........your god is guilty of mass murder so I'm a much better being that your neurotic little sky fairy. You need to learn some critical thinking skills by getting your nose out of that filthy buybull and read something useful.
When you have evidence your sky fairy exists, get back to me kid
wow another cockpump with a webcam, get fucked.
