I felt quite hurt the first time I saw who Pheromone Contra was, then sad that she died. BUT considering it isn't the original Bill Rizer, it may very well not be the original Lucia either, considering she was manufactured and other models can be made.

The voice acting is worse than Metal Gear. This is one of Konami's worst games.. down there with MGS2. The way they just ignore the meaning of the term "Contra" and attach it to every possible character is just wrong.

Even Master Contra does the usual "villain scene" where one of his troops tells him about their defeat, then the villain orders the troops to go out and defeat the heroes, and as he makes a classic "villain speech," the scene ends with him laughing maniacally! It's like Master Contra has the same personality as, let's say, Cobra Commander.

Well I guess since some people never took the story seriously, and when a bigger better game like Neo Contra comes along, people expect a more fleshed out story. But the Developers are not stupid. I like Lance too, but I think Neo Contra is supposed to follow Shattered Soldier directly, so that would be impossible. I love Lucia, so I was shocked to see what happened in this game.

I found Neo's handling of Lucia somewhat depressing. I guess that was intentional, but it seemed semi-explained. SS was much more convincingly bleak, I think. What happened with Lance felt like an actual plot thread, not just a random downer for Contra fans.

Still, thanks for uploading these scenes! I really like Bill's voice acting in the Lucia cutscenes. He does sound genuinely hurt and confused, and the music is excellent too. It's cool to see Contra actually pull off a sad cutscene. :)

Giving Lucia the benefit of the doubt, I think she was planning to betray Master Contra. My theory is that she wanted to kill Bill Rizer to spare him from the humiliation and dishonor of being destroyed by Master Contra, since in her mind, his effort would've been futile.

I can come up with no other explanation. But you're right, it all seems unnecessarily ambiguous here. I hate the way she croaks before she can fully explain, leaving us with nothing more than guesses. FUBAR!

I just remembered. Master's claim was that Bill was merely a clone. She probably believed him and didn't want Bill to ever find out the "truth". Neo's handling of the plot twist was still crap, however. I agree with you there.
