That's because they took out the unrealistic kiddie bullshit, (such as jets, plane's, skydiving, getting stronger, pimping cars, houses), in order to market the game to adults.

I didn't really find the extra stuff to be much fun or necessary in San Andreas. It was an incredible game, no doubt, but CJ jumping from plane-to-plane, 20,000ft above the ground just seemed silly!

Dude, there's always exceptions to the rule. I'm just basing what I say from my own experiences. Most people who I have met that prefer SA to IV are young. And most old gamers I meet perfer IV to SA! Generally, it's because IV provides more realism and less frivolous stuff, such as 60mil. dollar jet packs and silly haircuts!

well technically the skydiving is still there, you just gotta land in water and i guess it makes sense that you can't use jets cause the map itself has gotten denser but the actual amount of land has decreased but i prefer GTA IV (if you read this far you win one free internet)
