  • after a guy went to a repair shop this is what he was told. The repair guy fixed the problem.....

It seems that one (or both) of the power amps are defective. To have a quick check, take a meter, sett it on the DC voltage and measure the outputs, one by one (with no speaker

  • attached and no signal) for the short time when the unit stays on. If you have high DC voltage on the outputs (one or both) this means that channel(s) needs repairs (most likely the power transistors are blown). If one of the paired transistors is gone you need to replace both of them anyway.

  • I have the same problem with a 7 year old HTR-5640. i'll see what i can do

  • Thanks for putting this on YouTube. I have the same problem. Did you ever find a solution?

  • I have just bought this receiver, it better not do this ON ME!

  • I don't get it, What was the point of putting this on U tube ???

  • i have exactly the same problem with exactly the same receiver the htr 5650 and i have been looking for the solution too plz if you have found out anything on how to fix it let me know. But from what ive been hearing it has somthing to do with the reciever heating up to fast and shutting itself off

  • I am having this same problem, the amp turns on and then 'clicks off' I have opened it up and looked, the fuses are fine. I did not bother trying to unplug the secondary power, what does this do? What is it for? If it stays on while thats unplugged, can we run it without it?

Have you found anything else out on this since you've posted this video?
