greedy repulscum rancher can not coexist with anything that affect their herd cattle ..if you think about it.. these are the baster that invading the horses territory.. they use the same excuses to eradicate wild bison , wild deer , wild mouse .. wild wolf .. same bs different day on different land
Well done, very moving indeed. It is a sad state we have come to in the way we treat these native wild animals. We protect bears, bisons, wolves and they are predators. We are trying to annihilate wild horses, they are prey. No harm to anyone only of service.
I was somewhat reassured as I watched from my angle anyway, that the cowboys seemed to be careful about pushing too hard.. Small consolation. Beautiful video, this for sharing. How is ur horse coming along?
@Orreos Thanks very much. Yes, the cowboys actually were very humane and kind. I don’t feel like anyone WANTS it to be this way, accept for cattle ranchers. That is the entire reason these horses are in this predicament. I also learned that one reason there are so many wild horses today is because owners are abandoning them roadside and leaving their pets to fend for themselves. Amazing. Pass the message along - awareness is the first step.
great vid! i myself hav a 9 yr old mustang mare named scarlett. her brand on her neck is still barely visable. she is now riden in english and jumps. she loves 2 go fast!! she may hav been tamed but she is stilll a wild spirit at heart. they all are. :)
Love this work! And a great quote in print from National Geographic - I'll be looking for that in the used book stores.
You should post that on The Cloud Foundaton too!
What are you naming your mustang? Mine was named Topper, looked very much like the Toppper I and II in the Lake Elsinor, CA area - would love to think they are related, but, I got my wild horse before I even started school - 55 plus years ago.
and I HAVE a mustang But she's really thin because of abusment from her previouse owners She wont go up to any one and she hates being touched by any one, but I have been working with her AND TODAY I WAS THE FIRST PERSON since she was rescued to go up to her and touch her SHE'S BEAUTIFUL and I hope to work with her more and more and more and get her Built back up Physically and sychologicaly. So eventually she will be less afraid. " IT'S CAPTIVATING" 5 stars
GREAT VID But it should have ended with the horse breathing on the camera and fogging it up and then the screen starts going back. That would have been a better ending
Mostly I just wanted people to see what the situation is with the remaining 'wild' horses in America. If we can all share their story, and spread the word in any way we can, one person at a time, these horses can find homes. Good luck with your mare. I'm sure she will come around soon with the great work you are doing with her.
I actually got a call this morning from a couple who watched your video last night.
They said it was quite disturbing and if everyone in the US would take 3 minutes and watch your video we would have a solution. She has seen AMF's blueprint to get these horse adapted and adopted and used throughout the US.They met "Chantara" our adoptee in the video.Because of your video they now want to assist the American Mustang Foundation/Legacy Ranch and possibly go adopt one for themselves.
We did! He's the fella in the trailer at the end. He was gentled almost immediately. He loves people and is already under saddle. Amazing how not 'wild' he really is :)
He's a beatiful boy, congratulations! You can tell during his loading that he is going to make an awesome partner. Would love to see video of your progress with him!
the cattle men of today put the cow in coward. they forgot the horse brought them their wealth. look at the thanks the horse receives.

Nicely done. Please post a website for the Legacy Ranch. The footage looks like BLM to me. Are they a BLM contractor?

This was indeed filmed at the BLM ranch in Susanville. They were really nice, actually. It's such a shame about the situation out there.

sad yet beautiful. May those that were captured find life long loving homes, and may their wild counterparts remain wild and free.
Did you adopt one?
