  • i am wondering if this definition is true, because you can find parallel lines by finding the angles of these parallel lines and their transversals. if this is true, then lines of longitude on our globe would be parallel because of congruent angles with the lines of latitude, their transversals, and if this is true then your definition isn't because ALL longitude lines meet at both poles of the earth.

  • This is only for euclidean geometry. Wikipedia actually has a pretty good article- search non-euclidean geometry.
