I think hairdressers talk to you because they think it'll be awkward if they don't talk, but man are they wrong. Most of the time I can't even hear what they say so I just say "yeah" in different tones of voices, sometimes the conversation even runs out and and I get to sit there silently victorious. :)

I was just talking to my friend about the annoyance I feel when the hairdresser talks to you. There is no need, I go to them to get a hair cut, not to make friends. My solution was to cut my own hair (it also solved the dilemma that I had no money for a haircut)

I would definitely prefer to go to the introverted salon and spa. I stop going to really great hair dressers when they consistently ask me too many questions each visit. I don't know why more stylists haven't taken the "let's make this a relaxing and silent experience" approach.

I hate when people make unnecessary conversation, like at stores and stuff. All they should say to me is maybe hello, will that be everything, my total and then have a nice day. Unless its someone I know personally don`t say anything else.

Also when you are looking around in a store and someone comes up and asks if you need any help, I know that they are supposed to do that, but I still would rather them not talk to me at all.

I only get my hair cut once every two years or so, and when I do It's not so bad talking to my hair dresser because I've known her since I was 5 and now I'm 17. So it's all good, for me anyway. But at one point I did go to a couple different hair salons and yeah I didn't like talking to those people.
