@MidnightRambler73 actually without Eddie Van Halens mods to the old Marshall amps he had done back in the day the modern HEAVY rock guitar sound we have today wouldn't have happened. The guitar players in my band use the 5150 amps co designed by Eddie and we play technical death/ thrash music. Check out my videos . So that puts Van Halen a notch higher than Priest, Scorps, Maiden ect... :-)

@PoofDuddy well Eddie did have the amps modded to his liking. He went through a set of tubes every show he ran them so hot. Thats how he got the famous brown sound.
