i´m from germany, fishing most the time in a very small "lake". the carp i catch there are around 4-9 kg (8-18 pound) some single ones a bit heavier. i use always a landing mat because it saves the fish from stones or other things. i think it´s just fair to the fish. for heavy ones this bag to let the fish bag is good, because it protects him from falling down, smaller ones are easier to let back with hand

@21RegimentSAS Yes PVA sticks can be used in winter. However you should use baits with a lower oil content as oil congeals in cold water.

well landing mats are fine but using those nets to set them in is just overkill just pick them up and set them in the water all you gotta do
