  • Why cant I find the fucken 1986 finals.

  • DJ Shadow What does your soul look like (part2)

  • Jordan fans crying cause he sucked head to head against Larry Bird.

  • I read somewhere that Michael Jordan's Bulls never beat Larry Bird's Celtics in a playoff series ...

  • @ECWnWWF you read correctly...Celtics swept them this series I believe...

  • @ECWnWWF no shiht... Celtics team were at their prime and Jordan's teams were young. Jordan's 90's bulls teams would wipe the floor with Bird's team.

  • I know i'm going to get alot of slack and hate about this one but Jordan was around 22 years of age during this era and Rose reminds me so much of Jordan it's kind of eerie. The only difference is Jordan is 6'6 and Rose is 6'3 and they play different positions but in terms of speed, athleticism, body control, explosiveness and reflexes Rose is the closest i've ever seen to Jordan. jordan just had those HUGE hands which like Dr.J allowed him to hang in the air.

  • @chiladin I pretty much agree. I'm not comparing the two because Jordan was a far better player, but in terms of body/attacking style Rose is a "mini-Jordan" from the 80s. Look at the layups at 1:25 2:19 or the one near the end. Those are very Rose-ey moves ;) Jordan in the 80s weighed 195 pounds.. Rose is 190 so the similarities are there. (MJ deezed up to 215 in the 90s tho)

  • @SpartanS0ulja Those layups that you talked about were the reason why I said it's kind of eerie! LOL Rose has to be a solide 200 lb's cus he's been in the NBA over 3 years and 190 is what he weighed as a rookie and he looks much bigger. I think Rose will be limited in comparing him to MJ as far as capability because of his size. When Rose loose some of his athleticism I don't think he can post and fade! But Jordan is the GOAT and right now Rose is the Jordan of the point guards.

  • What did KC jones say? "Does a one eye bear sleep in the woods" is what I thought I heard...

  • @Zachrydaman does a wild bear sleep in the woods? and that was the other announcer - i think his name is bill heinsohn (former celtic & HOFer)

  • the celtics swept the bulls in this series

  • Well, I'll take Larry Bird's comment that "MJ is God in disguise" over your stupid youtube comment any day.

  • unimpresive, he just travels, switches pivot, and takes 40 shots, when bird takes 30 shots he scores 50 with 16 assists and rebound, jordan should also foul out in first half with all hacks on d and reachins, but not called cuz nba needs to seel sell sell

  • @bootiack youre joking...right?

  • jordan massive scam, constant travels, hacks, and free throws when should be no calls on defenders defending him

  • @GoWclutch Don't forget that Bird played in 91.. And the Bulls won that year.. Just saying

  • @RacerNight86 True but they never beat the Celtics in the playoffs...I've checked, he never played them after he started winning titles lol :)

  • @BigCrockDawg That's irrelevent bro.. At the end of the day.. Jordan, Magic, & Bird are the Greatest...

  • @RacerNight86 but of course :)

  • @BigCrockDawg Cool bro..

  • I don't think MJ knows how good he is...

  • Unstoppable Period!!!!!!

  • Imagine the records He would of broke that season, if He wasn't out with this injury? There's no telling what records He would of broke, 63 in the playoffs will never be broken. I just don't see that happening, peace!

  • lebron must have 10 different accounts

  • jordan was jsut a gunner, and a sly bastard with the refs, constantly carring the ball, and woudl foul out in first half of any game they caleld the reach ins on him, nba bent rules for a icon they created using the refs

  • @bootiack wtf. rate way down.

  • carlisle did not look like he was having fun trying to cover michael jordan.

  • kobe is the remix to jordan

  • wow ok he scored 49 but he never beat the celtics in any playoff games!!

  • @GoWclutch True, but he won more championships, more MVP awards, more Finals MVP awards than Bird, McHale, Parrish, etc.

  • @VinmanMJ23 yes he did do all ofthatbut hedid that when most of the good players retired!!!

  • @GoWclutch Haters I tell you, lol

  • @RacerNight86 im not saying he wasnt good im just saying he never beat the celtics when they had bird,,

  • @GoWclutch ''im not saying he wasnt good im just saying he never beat the celtics when they had bird,,''

not in the playoffs but the series record between MJs Bulls and Birds Celts goes to Boston 23-11 'he never beat the celtics when they had bird,'

MJ never beat them when they had Parrish, McHale, DJ, or Jerry Sichting...it's a team game-Bird's team was better

check out the Bulls starting lineup from another game in 1986:

    MJ...S Colter...Grainville Waters...Charles Oakley...Earl Curaton

  • 1:48 fuck that shot is amazing

  • @mcnalga Yeah is was..it was so smooth!!!!

  • Wow, show-time! Most of his FGs from short range, some of them from mid-range.

  • MJ WAS GREAT BUT THAT WAS FINE BY BOSTON FANS, ALL WE CARED ABOUT WAS THE "W"!!

  • 56.0 PPG through the first two playoff games against Boston. Unreal.

  • @gbinct and the bulls still never beat the celtics in the playoffs with bird

  • @GoWclutch Yeah, but Bird never beat the Bulls in the playoffs with Steve Kerr...

  • at this moment in time, the celtics were the better team.....even if jordan filled the highlight reel. it wasn't his time yet..... fast forward to the 90s it was his era.

  • @PopExpo It was his time, he was still the best, just because his team wasn't yet doesn't mean it wasn't his time to define himself as the most feared player in the league.

  • yes mike!!!!!!! the GREATEST.

  • For all MJ's points in that series, it didn't stop them from getting swept by a better overall team. Go Celts!

  • 1:27 nice lay-up by mj over kevin mchale :)

  • i felt bad for dennis johnson... he can't find a way to stop mj lol :)

  • It didn't matter, MJ dominated with an inside or outside game even after a 64 game layoff with a broken foot. After this game, Bird said they'd never let him scored 49 again. He was right - he got 63 next. These were the Celtics that won the Championship that year. MJ showed the world what he was capable of against the greatest team in just his 2nd year. Young MJ filled up the highlight reel every game.

  • Wow! An awesome performance against one of the greatest BB teams ever assembled. Against Bird-HOF, Parrish-HOF, Mchale-HOF, Walton-HOF, and DJ-HOF posthumously. That Celtics team played tough, physical defense and MJ scored at will. Simply amazing!

  • 85-86 bulls went 32-50.

  • test

  • And who won this series again with a sweep?! Oh yeah, the Celtics thats who!! Bahahahaha!

  • @ljb389 who the greatest of all time?? jordan that's who

  • @badazz509 but they lost! if that was kB kats wouldn't care if he scoored 81 points if they lost every one would blame KB for ball hogin but when MJ did it its okay what a buch of bias bull crap

  • @rodney1b LOL. Scoring 81 against Toronto Raptors is just as meaningless as scoring 73 against the Clippers (D.Robinson). Now, scoring 49+63 in the PLAYOFFS, against a team that most NBA purists call the best team in NBA history,a bit different story don't you think?

Kobe is a fine player, but in no way, shape or form is he even a top 5 player of all time. He's not even the best player in the last ten yrs, Duncan and Shaq share that honour. Fine player though.

  • @ljb389 exactly......don't matter if he scored 100 points. final score is what matters. historically the celtics is probably the greatest b-ball team ever.

  • Has anyone actually watched the full game? Jordan wasn't doing it all alone although he was the go-to player for a high percentage shot. The Bulls ended up playing a strong team game to keep up with the celtics here, in fact Jordan was off the court for alot of the first half and was rested. Jordan actually passed alot as well, Corzine and Sidney Green were also great during this game. It was a great team effort from the Bulls and they almost won.

  • 2 Assists, no wonder they lost.

    MJ needed Pippen To Win

One of the Greates Myths of All Time. The 1980s Bulls where weak

Jordan missed the whole 1985-86 Season: They Still Made The Play-Offs

Jordan never made anyone Better but Nike!

  • @Defender80s before MJ came, Bulls couldnt make to playoffs for 3 yrs.

Pippen average 7.9 pt in 1987-1988

    They made to 2nd round

In MJ's first 9 yrs, Bulls never trade any star players to Bulls.

On the other side, in 2000s, first Lakers, they brought Shaq, Phil, Kobe, all together by $. Celtics 08, big 3, new lakers, Kobe, Odom, Gasol, Artest...it's not any player's good to make that great team, its all about money NOW

  • @jimmychuang

Absolutely dude. Celtics i can ignore thats just good management. But the lakers are the Yankees of basketball. They pay for their rings. The bulls that was just good chemistry. The only player that they actually bought was Rodman in the last 3peat and that was because everyone from the bulls made a salary cut.

  • @Defender80s Umm... the 87-88 Bulls won 50 games. The 88-89 Bulls won 47 games and made it to the conference finals against Detroit only to be ousted in 6 games. I wouldn't call that "weak".

  • the shot at 1:48 is orgasmic

  • when nobody stops u and your teamates aren't able to score as well as u one on one or given the situation y does this have to b frowned upon if u win 6 championships and u don't have shaq or pau gasol on your team

  • This is great!!! But,where is defence here??!!? So many white boys around Mike,so easy to attack the basket....

  • @ivan24628999 Where is the defense in today's nba? There is none. After the Celtics, Jordan faced some of the greatest defensive teams in NBA history. The Bad Boys of the Detroit Pistons, the New York Knick of the early to mid 90s.

  • yap the Celtics in 80s had many white players but they were the top defensive team in 1986. Yes it looks so easily for Mike but imagine if its other elite player, could anyone score so easily?

You got to believe its only MJ can make it looks so easily, no one else can do this.

Also check how fast when he drive, his movement is constantly not like todays players, and he start attack right after he get the rebound and run coast to coast and score by a layup that only MJ can do it so easily.

  • music is terrible. i had to mute it & unfortunately didn't get to hear the announcers. but for pure moves, this may have been the best jordan game.

  • Great, but cut the music out. Absolutely not necessary.

  • Comment removed

  • jordan was a bit. of a ball hog

  • score 49 pts = ball hog? you are crazy

  • @jimmychuang Oh,right,it depends on which player we're talking about. MJ does it its greatness...Kobe does it,its ball hogging.

  • You only watch Kobe's games, thats why you think Fisher the Laker's player, and the other 2 players you mention who had been very aggressive on defending Kobe are great defense players. The fact is those are not top defenders. When we talk about top outside defenders are like Pippen or Rodman, Payton. They are the real experts, not some aggressive play made by some players then call them great defenders.

Today's excitement of games is about shooting long range, former era is about physical.

  • @jimmychuang -Jim if youre going to tell me what Im thinking, why insist upon this ridiculous argument? I dont think MJ was the greatest ever. I do think Kobe is every bit as good as MJ ever was. I do not believe the league was more physical back then and YOU wont be changing my points of view. Deal with it.

  • hey man, I never wanted to change your opinion, I only say what I know, I only described it. And nothing is ridiculous, I provide you stat, provide you some fact, those are information you can research online. Fact=ridiculous argument? You are ridiculous.

  • Jordan is just laughing at some of the best defenders of all time in their prime, Johnson and McHale. He does not care whether they are there ore not. They look positively helpless.

  • RIP Dennis Johnson.

  • The bulls were swept in this series but if jordan had a decent supporting cast they could have made a series of it.

  • watch magics lakers and kobes lakers watch magic and watch kobe there isent even a converstation on who is better between magic or kobe who is greatest laker lol NOT EVEN CLOSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

its kobe dont fucking message me and talk shit if u dont watch vids first.

  • Greatest of all time

  • 49 pts and 2 assists=BALLHOG

  • @DrewZ2ube LOL 81 pts and 2 assists=AN EVER BIGGER BALLHOG!

  • Comment removed

  • @OdomMbenga Im just pointing out that Mikey was a BALLHOG as well. Everybody thinks Kobe invented the notion.

  • Reminds me of what Bobby Orr can do or when Pedro struck out 17 against the Yankees. You just don`t see what that type of talent be can be.It is just a greatness that can`t be explained.Like a great artist or musician.Jordan is in a league by himself

  • the celtics still won the championship, but u still have to give it to jordan...BEST PLAYER EVER!!!!!

  • who won the series?

  • holy crap, look at mike and tommy

  • Who won this series? Jordan starting winning championships when Larry and Magic were old. Oh yea, and after the bad boys use to beat their ass. Jordan started winning when all the competition was gone. He was good though.

  • @polarbearjew He started winning when he had decent teammates surrounding him. In the early days of his career it was MJ and a bunch of scrubs on the same team and one man can take a team only so far. With Pippen, Horace Grant, etc. the Bulls were unstoppable.

  • @VinmanMJ23 he had decent teammates when the bad boys use to kick their butt. But they were getting old also. When the bulls started to dominate they had no competition. But I am thinking of Kobe. Kobe would kill MJ one on one. Bill Russell is the greateat ever? Do you lol, know how many championships that man won? MJ was good though.

  • are you kidding?what does kobe have on mj?how would he "kill" mj on one on one?and this is a fucking team sport, they had no competition?!i think the knicks at that time would win at least 2 championships in this era. 19 players in jordans era are named "greatest ever"....that is no competition?and only a cheap fuck like laimbeer would need to hammer jordan like that. lmao look at those series and see how often they hammered jordan. kobe couldnt score a single point aganist those bad boys.

  • @netcap001 Patrick Ewing winning a title in this era. thanks for the laugh. Shaq would destroy him. I respect your love for mj but all his competition was old. MJ was good, but greatest ever------Nah

  • @polarbearjew

are you fucking joking?shaq would destroy ewing?shaqs team was DEFEATED four games to ONE by Houston in the finals, ewing's team 4 games to 3! ewing played better than shaq..

  • @netcap001 How many rings, lol ,does Shaq have compared to Ewing? EVER look in the magazines and see where these two rank as far as greatest of all time?Who is highest? Please. Quit cussing and learn English. Kobe and Shaq would destroy the Great Jordan and Cartwright. Everyone get off Jordan's jock. Ever heard of Bill RUssel and his 13 championships? Jordan played in a time when everyone was old. Magic and Bird were gone. Give it up.

  • @polarbearjew

jordan won a title aganist magic, karl malone, charles barkley, clyde drexler, gary payton&kemp. and none of those guys except magic were old. jordans team swept shaqs team in the playoffs once and shaq had penny hardaway. btw your english looks worse than mine. "everyone get off jordan's jock". wtf does that mean?i hope you realise how stupid you sound. and bill russell(see you mistyped his name, lmao.)has 11 if i remember correctly.

  • @netcap001 11 or 13 including college, whatever, still better than Jordan. Jordan's foes were still old. Magic was old. NO Bird and the Celtics. the badboys were old and injured. Jordan was good though. Kobe will pass his stats. Jordan is hype.

  • @polarbearjew

barkley was 30 and the MVP of the league the year he faced jordan. they can be old(they werent) but they were as old as jordan,so,(im only using your logic) jordan was old too. shaq was not old, ewing was not old,the bad boys were not old, they had just won the championship the year before. yes, russell does have more titles, but by your faulty logic, robert horry is better than kobe&jordan because he has 7 rings.

i didnt even mention olajuwon or robinson

  • @polarbearjew

clyde drexler was avaraging 26 a game when he faced jordan in the finals, neither payton nor kemp were old. kobe can never pass some of jordans stats:for example,he can make 1500 shots IN A ROW and he still wont pass jordan in fg% and payton won the DPOY award the year he faced jordan in the finals. was kobe ever guarded by the DPOY in the finals?i dont remember anything like that. and jordan earned what he had unlike kobe who was labeled as the next "mj" in his first ASG.

  • @polarbearjew

we both agree that they were good, but if jordan is hype,i am a better basketball player than KB. how is jordan hype?he dominated the league. 10 scoring titles,5 MVP's,6 finals MVP's...etc,.etc.. will kobe ever pass these stats(especially the scoring titles...lol)?

  • @netcap001 MJ didnt dominate the league and Im sick of hearing it. MJ AND Scottie Pippen dominated the league at some point.

  • @DrewZ2ube how the hell do you call 10 scoring titles and a DPOY with like 3 steals titles not dominating the league??

  • @deadfresh10 Quite easy. Aided by the pathetic shortage of defensive options at the time Mike could score but couldnt win a title alone. Michael Jordan AND Scottie Pippen dominated the league. Of course it depends on how you define dominate. I think 1 man who can play C,SF,PF,SG,and PG and win a title is dominant. That would be Magic.

  • @DrewZ2ube thats called versatility. and magic at all those positions wasnt as dominate as jordan at sg IMO. I really don't feel like breaking this shit down for you. wilt doesnt even fit your description of a dominate player. mj was dominating the league while pippen was still a grasshopper. lol I dare you to come to a page of some real knowledgeable bball fans, u'd get eaten alive.

  • @deadfresh10 Sure WIlt was dominate. For his time, and against the defense he was up against. You don't mean bball fans, you mean Jordanites. Im sure. Id hear of bunch of Kobe "rapist" comments and ppl yelling MJ was the best like a mantra. Yea,eaten alive..

  • @DrewZ2ube how can you say that about them when you don't even know if you have met them?? anyways to be honest out of all the hardcore bball fans I have encountered on the internet, the "kobites" have been the ones who know the least about the game when kobe vs jordan isn't the topic, thats why I said that

  • @deadfresh10 Here's the thing. I know how great MJ was. Have to be a fool not to. I just like to consider myself objective. And you're right,I may not have met any of them, just most of the Jordan loyals I have met arent about to have a friendly convo with me. It always ends in personal insults and name-calling. And yes, youre easily right about the fans of Kobe who just decide on the moment and have forgotten who came before.

  • @DrewZ2ube I don't even really want to argue anymore about this shit. I just don't understand how some of you can say kobe is BETTER than jordan when looking at their accomplishments/stats. You all like to say defense was much easier back in his day. Now that's a whole argument in itself so i'll leave that alone. even if you all are 100% right about defense being better, that doesnt automatically make him a better player. That's just an intuitive conjecture, not really close to being factual.

  • @deadfresh10 -I NEVER said Kobe was better than Michael. Never once. And defense being harder is not conjecture, its the truth and its very factual.

  • @DrewZ2ube i said "some of you" meaning some of you kobe fans. i also did not say that the defense argument was conjecture.

  • its truth for you but its not a fact. today we have no hand check and physical defense outside post area, which means you can make a jumper much easier than before, defenders cant use their defense to force you losing balance. Defenders can only guess what you do and try to keep up you, it benefits players have better dribble and speed, but unfair to those strong and slower defenders.

  • @jimmychuang I disagree.

  • @DrewZ2ube ok, why? can you explain it? It's not only my opinion, its claimed many times by experts and pro during these years.

  • @jimmychuang Youre not looking for an explanation-youre looking for an argument. I have talked and talked and talked, pled my case with numerous MJ fans, and it all turns out the same. Therefore I will disagree. And just a tip,not everyone is going to agree wih you, your POVs,or how you came about them.Thats life.

  • You dont need to agree with me, you dont need to agree with anyone, I only say it, and you deny it, thats all. You cant even explain anything, all you can do is denying, whats your next comment? deny again? I guess so

  • @jimmychuang See..your last comment was argumentative-exactly my point.Ive been at it with so many Jordanites on here and it all ends the same.

  • @jimmychuang Okay,Im going to go off of what you explained because im not going through all these comments to find my original post. There's no comparison in the defense of the 2 eras. You can say what you want about handchecks-todays every player on the floor is throwing elbows. EVERY one. And though its a no-no,the refs dont call it because it would literally kill the game as its currently accepted. Raja Bell,Matt Barnes,Derek Fisher to name 3 all play physical bball outside the post.

  • The game is different, if you ever watched lots of games in last 18 years you know. Today's games have less mid ranges and more 3pt, and less physical contact, I am not saying former era is about elbows or bloody nose, no way. It's about how much you can use your physical strong to defense.

The fact is, before hand check been banned, the NBA went through an awful era after 1998, After they ban it, all offense stat go up every year. In 2008, the league reached the highest eFG% since 1984.

  • @polarbearjew Wow, that is the must ignorant statement I have ever heard. Obviously you like Kobe and he's a great player, but your comments are not based in facts. Kobe needs 9 more scoring titles, five more MVP awards, five more Finals MVP awards to pass Jordan. At 31, I'm pretty sure he doesn't have enough years left in his career to accomplish even half of that.

  • @VinmanMJ23 -Yeah,talk about Kobe? I see 2-3 guys running at Kobe. I garantee if that kind of defense was legal back in the day Jordan's numbers would not have been so great . An unfair comparison. Look at all the one-on-one he does. The comparison can't be made. No zone D. Too FN easy for such a great player.

  • @DrewZ2ube "Jordan had to overcome the harassment of zone traps and double and triple-teaming to win the scoring title by averaging 37.1 points a game."

    - New York Times Nov. 4, 1987

  • @uberathlete "Zone defenses were prohibited in the National Basketball Association prior to the 2001–2002 season. The NBA currently permits the use of zones; however, teams generally do not use them as a primary defensive strategy and no zone defense may feature an unguarded defender inside the free-throw lane (a violation of that results in a defensive three-second violation, which is a technical foul)."-Wiki-P

  • @polarbearjew

shaq is better than ewing, but ewing played better than him at that time.

shaq faced: the pacers(i dont think that they were so good),76ers(THEY WERE SHIT),nets(they were good, but never as good as the '96 sonics or '93 suns.) in the finals. and he rode wade to his 4th ring so it is irrelevant.

  • @polarbearjew

shaq could destroy him but other than that the old knicks would kill the lakers of this era. they had great players from top to bottom,in fact, jordan faced malone(multi time mvp) and stockton, who is regarded as one of the greatest PG's ever. jordan also avaraged 41 in the 93' finals aganist the suns who had GREAT players.

  • @polarbearjew

no he didnt have good teammates when the pistons defeated him in the ecf. kobe would cry and lose the ball the entire time aganist the pistons..and jordan played WAY BETTER than kobe in the finals

  • In some ways true, In others ways not. Remember MJ has been running 4.3 40-yards since his Sophomore college days and could get his entire 9" hand above the goal square his rookie season in the NBA. Like KB, LBJ -Rose's moves doesn't look as ellagant as MJ's

  • MJ the greatest to ever play the game....i love how he just floats in mid air, never seen anyone else do it...

  • music ruined it

  • I've always loved the move at 1:25. The crossover to lose DJ and then the hang time to go up and then to scoop it under the long armed Kevin McHale. A phenomenal sequence from start to finish.

  • While I agree derrick rose is a nice player, he ain't Jordan. Are you kidding, rose is not even the best player in his division let alone conference. No one reminds me of Jordan, except watching old Jordan video's. Derrick rose cant even handle a consistent double team.

  • Man what's crazy is that Derrick Rose reminds me so much of Jordan- how he sweeps through the lay for all those acrobatic shots, hang time layups, change of direction moves, base line dunks, facials and deadly mid range jumpers,!

  • @chiladin lolz Derrick Rose reminds you of Jordan? What stuff are you smoking?

  • @uberathlete Derrick Rose will never be as good as Jordan because he doesn't have Jordan's size. But pound for pound he's a better athlete. That's a fact! Go look at ANY of his highlights and he does alot of things that Jordan can do. And for the record i've been on that Super Silver Haze from Cali.

  • @chiladin hehe, that stuff from Cali is good stuff.

  • @uberathlete It's the best. Me and my cousin made one bud last a week. Two pulls and I was feeling right. My IQ went from above average to levels past Einstein's with every pull.lol.

  • @chiladin lolz word.

  • Song is by dj shadow, what color is your soul.

  • what song is this??????

  • the song is favorite part of the video

  • MJ was blessed to be able to palm the ball the way he did for a guard.

  • Simply the Greatest.

  • Freaking great song, very mellow.

  • I must watch this at least 4 times a week and still shake my head. I just cant say it enough, I have never seen such a great player. Its sounds weird, but the beauty of the movements and his just unheralded athletic ability. Now with that said, they changed the rules because of wilt. He had a insane broad jump and , ready could dunk the free throws from the foul line, they said no. They used to throw it over the back board and wilt would catch it and dunk it, they stop that.

  • Man, that move at 1:48!!!!

    Thats the STUFF.

  • Really classy fans at the Boston Garden cheering a young Mike. he really had a shit team and was going up against either the best or 2nd best NBA team of all time. I do not think they knew what MJ had in store for them.

  • @westy44cal you said that one year ago but still, charles oakley was a decent power forward too so you cant say hes all team was shit.

  • @Kevinownsyouall Ok. But 10 out of the 12 were LOL. I was being sarcastic but in general, especially against this Boston team, shit it the appropriate adjective IMO.

  • They were great games and the greatest proof that basketball is a team game. Jordan at his physical peak couldn't beat the Celtics. Celtics had the better team. No titles for Jordan until Bird's back went and he retired.

  • Man there is hope for Kevin Durant after all. I have forgotten how skinny MJ was

  • Man I was born the year after this, but I just love the Celtics team, the TRUE greatest of all time.

Just ridiculous to think healthy Bird, McHale, Parish, Walton all on the same team and often on the floor at the same time. All four incredible post up players, McHale possibly still the best footwork and moveset all-time, Parish = Mutombo with a shooting touch and ability to finish on the break, Bird could do everything, Walton with key moments all year, can't forget D.J, Danny, K.C....man

  • and then in 1986 you have the sheer experiementalism of Bird and Jordan in full effect with their shot selections and creativity, competitive greatness. The NBA was at its peak and it stayed there for a good number of years. It's not even the same league. It is as night and day as someone who was a fan of the WWF in 1998 to someone watching it in 2008. It's not the same thing anymore.

  • His style of play was so ahead of his time!!!

  • IT does seem like the athletes are much better these days and defenders are much better at making gaurds like these drive into the lane where the shot blocker was there to meet them. But take nothing away from MJ, just nasty... He took what the defense game him and if he played today he would have scored in other ways, so you can't penalize him for playing in that era.

  • hey man, none of Jordan's shot are easy shots, most are diffcult shots

watch carefully, the shot like 1:24 is almost impossible to defense, you can only foul on him

frankly, in today's league who can do a simple shot like 1:24, 2:20

2:52, 3 defender on Jordan in paint, he still make it, that's not defense problem

middle 80s defense was not as orgnized as late 80s, but they still could do double, triple Jordan or any other offense player, it's nothing different when defense one player

  • true and look who's guarding him...Dennis Johnson was an excellent defensive player and he is helpless against MJ.

  • He is the most graceful athlete I have ever had the privIlidge of watching. I have never seen anything like this man and have not seen it since. Kobe and lebron are great, hats off to them, but against mike, NO WAY.

  • nmckaige, EXACTLY... I have so many jackass friends who think kobe or lebron is on MJ's prime level and not even close. How quickly they forget.

  • Thanks matt. I am not breaking leborn's or kobe's stones, its not a crime to not be as good as mike. These guys are awesome, but to compare to the best modern day Hooper. No, I would rather have pistol pete and mike on my team. Both in their primes of course.

  • what was his fg % this game. just curious because he made so many ridiculous shots this game. So unfair his skill level was. N for the big deal comment it was a big deal. This IS the best Celtics team ever on their home fl n this is MJ 2nd yr. What kind of numbers did Kobe throw up his 2nd yr. Granted he should still have been in college but I doubt ANY year Kobe could pull this shit off Hes not near quick or creative enough going to the hole to make shots like MJ. Not even close. That's a FACT

  • actually this was a playoff game against who some ppl consider the greatest celtics team ever. michael made his name as the best player in the league from this series. kobe never scores like this in the playoffs

  • because his team dont know how to put a ball in the basket

  • actually this was a playoff game against who some ppl consider the greatest celtics team ever. not the one that plays in L.A that scores a bunch of points on a bad team. grow some brain before you actually talk.

  • Jordan should have gotten his teammates involved instead of selfishly trying to score 50 points.

His team might have actually won this game.

  • i know all about the 30 pts in the mcdonald's game, the shot vs. georgetown, the virginia comeback, the rookie game against detroit, the 63 in boston, the 69 against cleveland, the double nickel, and the flu game...but this game might have had the best collection of plays michael jordan ever put together. this music, however, is awful.

  • Good post 704 Carolina blue. I recognize your area code. Im near the Charlotte area myself. NC makes legends when it comes to basketball

  • Best teams ever:

    1. 1996 Bulls

    2. 1986 Celtics

    3. 1987 Lakers

  • @MrBiscuitsngravy Add to that the '72 Lakers and '67 76ers!

  • This is Jordan vs Elite Team, Top 3 teams of all-time. Of course he couldnt win.....Look how raw he was though back in 86' Damn MADSKILLZ.....Kobe not even close
