AUTOZONE SUCKS!biggest ripoff joint going! Always trying to push stuff you don't need telling you it will void warranty if you do not buy it. clueless rude female employees too! JUST SAY NO TO AUTOZONE!
I love this commercial! I'm 16 and i drive a '78 Ford F250 me and my grandpa fixed up, and just bought a 1963 Chevy Bel air to get working on that hasn't ran in 13 years! How could anyone not respect these old cars and love them?! And to those freaking out about where he got the money, its a commercial! A lot of teenagers have jobs ya know.
I love the commercial, and I love the car. FTR, I've always loved old Ford Torinos, blame it on Starsky & Hutch and the '75 Gran Torino my aunt and uncle had when I was a larva.
Auto Zone's Attorney BenJamin H Banta asked me that when did my Father cross the borther. and one of the managers called a African American Costumer a F Monkey , what kind of company is that . Im not mad at you but all this is 100% the Truth you will be welcome to see the website that I am making for Auto Zone
I am an A.S.E. certified technician, and I truly respect people that do this kind of stuff. People like this can fix anything, to a certain degree. Nobodys perfect, but this is the kind of skill/trade that can be counted on! YOU GO KID!
its a Ford Gran Torino, like a 74 or a 75. Kinda reminds me of myself, im restoring a 73 gran torino, i got it for 300 dollars a few months ago, and itll be ready to drive in about 3 months
And to answere everyones question about the kid and the money, well im 17 and turning 18 in may and i get my money from working part time and also some help from my dad
to everyone on here that is hating on automobiles...you are all fucking idiots..i don't know what the situation is in your life, but the majority of rural america has to drive to work for a living, I drove 90 miles a day to and from work, what? Am I supposed to ride a bike that far? The world would be insanely less developed without the invention of the automobile, but if you got your wish, the whole world would be like the subsaharan african countries? That would be nice...
Sad to see him spend all his time and money on a coffin. What will he do when gas is $10 a gallon? Push it? This example of "the car is king, the car is the ultimate form of transport" has to change or we're gonna bury ourselves. This ad insults me on so many levels.
Anyone who is dissing this commercial is either some snot nose european, or is less then 20 years old and has had everything handed to you by mommy and daddy from ipods, laptops and a leased lexus.
Whoever the fuck thinks he should just keep the bike, you go and be a highschool kid with a license and no car, see how it works out, I never went through this, but can certainly respect it, and if I saw an abandoned classic I'd fix it up just for fun.
I he'd have sppent a fraction of the car repair cost on his bike, he'd have a great bike, which would get him around for far less, keep him fit and last way longer.
This commercial right here reminds me so much of me and my 1979 Cadillac I've been restoring and driving. We have formed a tight bond. Many MANY times I have spent all nighters fixing something on it so I can drive it to work the next day and MANY times I have made it to AutoZone just before the doors closed to get a part. Nothing is stronger then the bond between a man and his old car. You just don't form a relationship like that with a rice burner.
I love this commercial! I'm currently restoring a 1983 Pontiac Trans Am and I can definately relate to the kid in the commercial. He had to replace a radiator hose and alternator, just two of the same things I've replaced. The guys at AutoZone almost know me by name now. There is no better feeling than taking an old, worn out muscle car and giving it new life.
this commerical is..stupid. he finds a car and goes to autozone and gets the parts. where the hell does he come up with the money to get these. they could have least shown him working at a job or something. giving kids false hopes.
Maybe he already had the money, maybe he had a summer job and was working to pay for the parts. Its a frigin commercial showing kids around his age that ya dont need to be rich to build or get a car running again.
shown him working? they pay for air time by the second. i dont think autozone found it important enough to show how he got his money. a lot of kids do save up money
Anybody Notice that it's an early 70's Ford Torino? It would be worth quite a lot of money once fully restored.
You haven't lived until you've driven a muscle car you pieced together yourself. It beats HAVING TO ride your bike everywhere. Recreational bike riding is another story all together. No problem with that.
Twenty years and 100 pounds later, the kid, whose lifestyle grew increasingly sedentary after abandoning his bicycle and who is now a middle-aged diabetic and blind in one eye, has a massive heart attack and dies while sitting at a red light waiting to turn left into Auto Zone.
you might be right, but if the kid's only form of exercise was riding his bike, he needs help anyway, not to mention, how does driving in a car lead blindness and insulin problems?
haha, that is funny, however that would be due to a shitload more things than driving. driving alone doesnt make people unhealthy, its their lack of willing to workout and keep in shape. it could equally be said that watching youtube instead of working out would make us unhealthy
Ha, through college my bike was always worth more than my car. But I must say, it is good when people learn how to repair and maintain their own automobile. I used to make frequent trips to junkyards near by to help my friends repair their cars. Then again, I also spent a considerable amount of time teaching my friends how to repair and maintain their bikes.
I think my bike is worth exponentially more than the car. Really. I think that car is a piece of bleep! & it'll probably kill me faster than my bike (which is a track bike i.e. no brakes or freewheel) by blowing up/catching fire/crashing by losing control/or all of the above.
How is it insulting? I think its one of the best ad's they've ever done, test an alternator my ass. Your young, someone in your family gives a car and soon you find out why it was free, You fix it and you fall in love with it as your first car.
