  • Hoye need to do me a favorazo can upload a video on how to make the source of the n64 or diagram and also the source that hisiste the ps one lcd att.gerson

  • hello my name is Danrley, I'm from Brazil and would like to build a N64 for a job,

and if you can air more intrunções me my email is zitoh_chaves@hotmail.com

  • @ABOTango you can get them in the us look on eBay

  • what type of screw is that, and is it available in the US

  • Looking at this reminds me that you should go to Nintendo with this. (And anyone else who has successfully made one as well.)

  • and 3,000,000,000 screws later....

  • Nintendo needs to add more screws to their consoles! NOT ENOUGH SCREWS!

  • my dad is skilled with electronics but not very good with video games do you thing it should take 20-50 hours with his help and my design? Because he will do the electronics and i will design the look

  • Probably. Join my forum and post progress, so when you need help, we can help.

  • i need a scrw to open it

  • I was wondering how you mad the case I realize vacume formed but who would I go to about getting it done or could you send me one?

  • Is the game-bit made of lead? I don't want lead poisoning. Also, can I use the game-bit without the screwdriver?

  • Don't chew the metal then! lol

  • @MODDEDbyBACTERIA What? No people can get lead posioning from touching lead, or that's what I've heard. Maybe I'm wrong.

  • @Mario6667777 I spelled poisoning wrong.

  • No, you get lead poisoning if it gets into your bloodstream, like licking it, swallowing it, not washing your hands after handling if its powder gets onto your hands, etc

  • Alright thanks, I've joined the forum :)

  • Is that 8 hours a day or only a couple? I ask because my brother and I are planning on making one as a side project to our regular jobs

  • Depending on your skills, speed and complexity of the case and design, might take 20 hours or might take 100 hours.

  • How long does it usually take to make one?

  • Depends on how much board trimming, etc you do and case making, etc. If the system is easy to build it can take just weeks, although usually months to make.

  • Could I use something else to unscrew the screws at the bottom do you think?

  • Some people melt the end of a plastic pen onto the screw head, some dremel through the plastic surround to get to the screw also.

  • Opening the N64 and removing the board speedrun! hahaha

  • As I recall, 4.5mm

  • damn did Nintendo really need to put in all those screws!??!

  • They certainly didn't need to use hex screws, that's for sure!

  • @MODDEDbyBACTERIA hahahaha

  • hey. l have this fun tech case l got from the flea market. lt is about 6 1/2 in. long, 3 in. wide, and 3/4 in. thick(although l might be able to increase the thickness. so would you happen to know what game portable l can make out of it?please answer

  • Only a NOAC. Best idea for that case - use it to store screws! lol

  • @MODDEDbyBACTERIA but that's not a video game, beside it has a big rectangle cut out in the front.

  • Indeed; I was joking of course. That case might be ok to use with a 3.5" screen and a NOAC, maybe.

  • @MODDEDbyBACTERIA thanks. also do you know where l can get one?

  • your system is clean, mine has a lot of dirt on the sivler part unbder the grill. and ways you clean that without taking off the back?

  • No, you'll need to remove the board to clean it, after years of dust, it tends to stick to the board.

  • That has to be one of the most interesting consoles in terms of execution and overall system design. It is designed to be programmed using library functions- the whole system runs on high-level code, which makes it very easily emulated.

  • Emulators are not as good as running off a proper console board.

  • The N64 is a remarkably efficient console.

  • It is well planned out as a board, yes.

  • I don't say this as much as I should, but thank you, bacteria. When I get the right parts, I will mod an Atari 2600 Pro-line trackball into the casing for a portable i might make. If you look at that specific trackball controller, it's perfect for a casing.

  • Thanks, and please post this project of yours on my forum!

  • @MODDEDbyBACTERIA I don't have an n64 or a Pro line trackball right now, but once I get the cash to buy them, I'll attempt to make a portable using your tutorial as a guide.

  • N64 console has too very many screws. So dismantle working is hard tire with my right arm and right hand...

  • Hi, i would like to build a n64 portable, but i've a lot of questions, first: where do i take from a step down regulator? i hope you can help me i'm to much confused whith the step down regulator. my e-mail is :arturo_lfc@msn.com. if you can send to me a diagram of all the conections and components, i'll be very very gratefully thank you very very much. sorry but my english is bad.

  • All details are on my website and also my forum. Link to my forum is via my website.

  • People don't know about your videos i'll tell more people about them.

  • Please do! Spread the word!! lol

People also don't seem to know about my chat room site either (link on my Wordpress site).

  • My DCp? Finished, however I need to spend a day or two making and editing the videos before uploading them.

Yes, lots of screws. I was trying to show how fast you can dismantle the system (5 mins); will try and keep my hands more out of the line of fire in future videos - there will probably be 20-30 more in this video WIP log - some will be discussion and options videos others will be active modding videos. Varied.

  • I found out about you from hackaday, and im loving your videos, even though ill probably never make anything as cool as your creations its still enjoyable to watch the videos. I look forward to many more :D

  • Nice. Also, how's your DCp going?

    J.D

  • god, they went all out with the amount of screws... most of the video is u taking out crews lol XD
