Hey Aufklarung, howcome you let so many people post your video? why didn't you only give permission to one guy so that we can get an accurate amount of how many people actually see it?
That would be me actually. Back when youtube was new I asked if I could put it up, he said sure. Everyone else has put it up after me. Go ahead and check the date against the others.
But this is youtube, if there isn't 1000 videos all repeating the same thing then it just isn't right.
where is a good place to buy alot of mechwarrior shit like a whole bunch everything from animated to card game to couple hundred dollar collectibles i could put on my wall and posters and shirts too??? anyone?
The reason there are Robotech/Macross mechs in the vid, is because in the early days there were a bunch of mechs in Battletech which were directly based on those from Macross. Due to a licensing issue that FASA hadn't foreseen, they got sued and had to remove all images of the Mechs at issue (though the Mechs themselves weren't retconned out of existence or anything).
Recently this has (somehow) been legally dealt with, and the "Unseen" mechs can once again be used in the BT universe.
well most people wouldn't enjoy saying they designed one thing remotely similarly to another. but If im wrong then *beg forgiveness*. but the way I look at it is: If you can take a mech, then add crap to it and make it look like another without too much effort, that constitutes as similar. just build a model of it with like fiberglass or something, then add / subtract till you get something else.
The Cyclops came to be in the early 80s. The Thor and Loki didn't come until later. In fact the Clans borrowed a lot from Inner Sphere designs when they created their omnimechs, so you will see similarities.
The Clans had the origins in the IS, so naturally, they would have started from IS designs. In fact, the SL took all their knowledge with them when they took the Exodus road, and without submitting themselves to petty fighting like the IS for the next three centuries, were able to focus and build on their military capabilities that far out-weighed the IS
The Cyclops predates the Thor and Loki by at least a hundred and fifty years. And there's nothing in the Canis' TRO 3060 entry about it being related to other mechs (except perhaps peripherally).
You might be thinking of the Sunder, which is a Kurita OmniMech based on the Thor.
this is a reply to the guy talking about cyclops and canis. YES, they ARE mods of thor and loki, just like Bushwacker is an inner sphere knock-off of the Clanner Vulture.
Actually, they do. Ever heard of the Unseen 21 mechs in Battletech? They were a direct copy from Macross/Robotech. Battletech also copied mechs from Gundam as well (Zaku) which is why I saw fit to add them to the video back in 2002.
that had mechwarrior.robotech, and mobile suit gundam. BTW last fight between white and brown were mercenary variants of Thor and Loki. dont believe me? look closely, they have a cactus on fire as emblem(black legion baby). white on was thor by house Kurita designed to snipe out enemies. note:houses that hire mercenaries give them their mechs.
WOW!! That was an excellent video! Perfect timing to music ratio, superb pacing and super editing points. I love the blending of mecha generas. The music was just right too! You did an awe inspiring job on this one!! SUPER GOOD JOB!!!! Top of my favorites list. THANK YOU FOR SUCH AN AWSOME POSTING!!!
whao aws, but where did all those vids come from, where did you get the (i think) stone rhino, the one where there are lots of squares and that final duke out, what mechs are those?
Anyone remember those netmech simulators, clusters of 4 "sim" machines at arcades, basically running MW2 on a lan? Remember all the guys who got together with their patches, gear and rulebooks and would play battletech while waiting their turn on the machine?
Yeah... god damm, that was forever ago. Where'd I put my cane?

Yeah, I've been around this block since it was a board game. FASA stole the original designs from the Robotech franchise. Which I don't mind, I kinda miss the ol' Warhammer and Rifleman. Some of the larger chassis even had medium lasers mounted on the back. Thanks to the computers of todays though. A couple of lances fighting each other on the board game used to take all day
can someone tell me what happend to the call to arms mechwarrior vid? if possable give the link thing, btw nice vid dude, LONG LIVE THE DRACONIS COMBINE
There is one thing about this movie I do not like, it has gundam and armored core, not that I don't like the two. The reason I am saying this is this, battletech took just about everything from robotech. Though I am not sure about the Monster from robotech, everything else from robotech is in battletech. The robotech fighters were called LAM (Land Air Mechs) which were lightly armored, unsuitable for combat, idea was a mech to get to the fight FAST
Due to 500 character limit: and an experienced pilot could fire the lasers while it transformed. PS, I know it wasn't you who made it, this is more like a generic style of posting. Also hoping you actually can tell the guy.
They deal with heat build up by using devices called heatsinks which use coolint from holding tanks and disperse it on the mech to cool it. They are big bad and better then hercs and they are called mechs from mechwarrior and mechassault folstrimhori ok this is from a die hard mechwarrior fan. I hate mech these are actually beleivable other then the highpowered lasers and swords!
Except for the fact that they're not anime like mecha. They do not run and jump around with swords or ridiculously designed beam weapons. Look it before you try and badmouth it.
Hey folstrim they are called mechs from mechwarrior and use devices called heatsinks to disperse coolint on the mech. NOTE: they are also from mechassault aswell
Oy, actually I know about BAttlemechs, and the Whole Mechwarrior series, I use to own at Mechwarrior3 & 4 online, until my joystick broke. Either way what I was asking about was the HERCS that SUJAD had mentioned.
Also I dont know about you but mechassault was a disgrace to the whole series of pc games.
Um, what's the source of the anime-esque clips of Battlemech launching missiles in the beginning? I know it ain't from the Battletech animated series cuaz those mechs were CG'd.
Picky picky. But it won't overshadow the fact this is a great if not the best fan video I've ever seen. Why don't you post and make one of your own that is even as good as this.
I love the Cyclops v. Canis ending. Most people just cut scenes to music arbitrarily, but your ability to augment and match the climaxes and lulls in the clips and the music is pretty well developed.
robotech was first, by a long time. There was a lawsuit over the robotech mecha that appeared in FASA books years ago, especially technical readout 3025.
robotech is the american version.. Macross is the japanese version.. altho no biggie. Ya, this is a pretty good vid. If you all wanna see a good anime OVA, download or rent Macross Zero(3D-cgi anime). (i think i saw some footage in this vid.
Some Robotech mechs were borrowed from Mechwarrior. The Rifleman, Marauder, Phoenix Hawk and a couple others. The odd thing is, those models were rarely if ever choices in the MW games.
ive been around ever since MW first came out, brings some very good memories back, and since MW5 doesn't look like its gunna b comin ever mercs is the last game for mechwarrior glad they got a solid video like this out, but i saw this video for MekTeks mech pack 2 a few years ago....
Mechwarrior is awesome. Nicely done vid, shame that the music is a bit repetitive tho. Is that some shots from Robotech and Gundam in there as well as the scenes from Mechwarrior 3 and 4?
I recognize some of the scenes from MW3, MW4, mechcommander but the one with the Stone Rhino...Wer is that one from? And the one with the mechs figthing in the green valley, wers that one from too?
I was wondering the same thing. I loved the stone rhino. Where did the "cartoon" mechwarrior/battle tech come from in the beging, its differend than the battle tech series.
Auf is considered by many to do the best music mecha videos. I certainly don't know of any better. And this one is considered by many to be his best work. I know of one I happen to like better, but I don't have permission to post it to YouTube.

Picky picky. But it won't overshadow the fact this is a great if not the best fan video I've ever seen. Why don't you post and make one of your own that is even as good as this.

I love the Cyclops v. Canis ending. Most people just cut scenes to music arbitrarily, but your ability to augment and match the climaxes and lulls in the clips and the music is pretty well developed.

the robotech was the shadow chronicles??
ZalainVictor 5 years ago
robotech was first, by a long time. There was a lawsuit over the robotech mecha that appeared in FASA books years ago, especially technical readout 3025.

LOL... I remember in BATTLETECH universe they had a Robotech Guardian / Gerwalk mode looking MECH tht didn't work very well.
Was funny.

Absolut cool Video. Robotech is the japanese part of Battletech, but I don´t know, what was the first.

robotech is the american version.. Macross is the japanese version.. altho no biggie. Ya, this is a pretty good vid. If you all wanna see a good anime OVA, download or rent Macross Zero(3D-cgi anime). (i think i saw some footage in this vid.

Absolutely AWEFREAKINSOME !!!

Some Robotech mechs were borrowed from Mechwarrior. The Rifleman, Marauder, Phoenix Hawk and a couple others. The odd thing is, those models were rarely if ever choices in the MW games.
racuti1 5 years ago
No, when Battletech was created (Battledroids), they took mechs from other games like Robotech and Harmony Gold, IE the unseen mechs.

On Scene 0:43, With the Rifle man, where is that from?

Awesome vid! Very impressive. A small band of us are still dedicated to keeping MechWarrior4 alive!

Because this is a mecha video, not just Mechwarrior.
Derivshx4 5 years ago
Pretty nice, and pretty well done, too. I just got one question.
Why did you include Gundams?
isocryd 5 years ago
MechWarrior/BattleTech; extremely underrated.

dvaston 5 years ago
Yes.
Derivshx4 5 years ago
I belive so, never did play it 3025. Where can i get it?
79camaro454 5 years ago
Actually I just noticed you have got scenes from the original Mechwarrior 2 and Ghost Bears Legacy as well. :)
dvaston 5 years ago
Mechwarrior is awesome. Nicely done vid, shame that the music is a bit repetitive tho. Is that some shots from Robotech and Gundam in there as well as the scenes from Mechwarrior 3 and 4?
dvaston 5 years ago
Who is the music by, is it in German?
edjcox 5 years ago
I recognize some of the scenes from MW3, MW4, mechcommander but the one with the Stone Rhino...Wer is that one from? And the one with the mechs figthing in the green valley, wers that one from too?
juki009 5 years ago
I was wondering the same thing. I loved the stone rhino. Where did the "cartoon" mechwarrior/battle tech come from in the beging, its differend than the battle tech series.
79camaro454 5 years ago
The green valley one is MechWarrior 2 Mercenaries.
