@zequelll This is a Titan I site and I served on a Titan II so I'm not an expert. But I suspect that made the hole when they de-commissioned the silo so they could salvage the three huge diesel generator sets.

why is there a hole in the roof? dont say for light because its not that hard to get some floodlights hooked up.

@zequelll ITs so the Russian satelites can see in side that nothing is still operating down there. It's to comply with START.

@zequelll It was cut there so that they could remove the generators and other equipment when it was decommissioned.
