Don't most adobe structures have plaster or cob on the outside and inside of the bricks, giving them tensile strength?
I've always read to have 2-5 inches on the outside and inside of essentially cement to weather proof this. Just bricks aren't common at all.

3:53 saved by the giant structure in the center of the building (machinery piece?).
It was going over and since it's now connected to the other wall would have most likely taken it down as well.
This doesn't seem like it's any safer.
