I've traveled in the 3rd world, and I know a lot of Western nations have chemical and mining and other industrial operations that pollute rivers there, BUT all the trash I see floating in the river is thrown in by locals! It's a 2 part problem, and everyone needs to work to find a solution.

all the towns people should burn the factories.... and try to take motor ships with nets and scoop it all up..
then wait about a month or two and the water will have time to recycle itself through the atmosphere and renew the health of the water

You argument that states capitalist economies have made it difficult for emerging economies such as Bangladesh to emerge and develop is very true and I agree there.
However the US would never dump in Bangladesh. It is not economically efficient to dump out wastes in a country as geographically distanced as Bangladesh. If their true goal is to maximize profits, they would not be doing so by dumping in this region.
