  • Canada. Purple. I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone.

  • @imfrancisd Ha ha ha ha ha!!! Yeah. Your comment made me laugh.

    Thanks. - roc

  • @popparoc46 You understood that? Okay, now this is really weird. Or were you just trying to be nice? That's cool too.

It's just in my other adventures online (which were mostly, um... fabulous) I met another Canadian who also liked purple. I just don't know many people who like purple and I don't know many Canadians. Does purple have some special meaning or something? Is it explained in your other videos? I'll try to watch more.

  • @imfrancisd Or at least I think he's Canadian. It's been a while. Well, this is embarrassing.

  • @imfrancisd ha ha - doesn't really matter, does it? besides, no one will know...

  • "Just for that you're showing your clavicles!" what a mighty reward! lol!

duct tape wallet, very interesting! very clever! never knew such things could be made! and purple, too!

maybe you could give the book to someone as a present? it's not "used" so it wouldn't be 2nd hand.

I saw the vid that narfi sent you. A very sad video :-( film makers could just use CGI nowdays!! or at least very realistic puppets!

  • I thought that video about the animals was sad too, but I'm glad I saw it.

I am going to give the book as a present! - roc

  • Early Christmas gifts yeah! The wife loves purple. And I love reading. That was so sweet of them! :) David and Charmaine

  • Purple rocks! - roc

  • I have the best subs, Billy. Thanks for the nice comment!

    - roc

  • Now all you need is a goost goose(t) tape purse to carry that duckt tape wallet! Oh hey, a matching pair of swant tape shoes... why not?

  • Ha ha ha! Exactly - why not! -roc

  • Very cool organizer!

I've sooo been there with the 2 book, the same. Sorry! Very frustrating. I'm extremely careful about spending, as well. take care - jenn

  • I try to be careful, but am not always successful! -roc

  • well, i was partially right. i suggested it was something made of duct tape!!! It's awesome.

oh, i've bought 2 copies of the same book before & that is frustrating. i donated one to the library ;)

  • I will do that too, Gail. -roc

  • "Well, just for that I'm showing my clavicles!"

I've bought two copies of the same Kurt Vonnegut book. I decided that I wouldn't buy any more of his books until I'd read them so I'd remember if I had them already.

    -Sylvain

  • Doesn't it make you crazy, Sylvain? I told Pat today, that he could leave one copy by his chair, and the other by the bed. He wouldn't have to transport it back and forth! -roc

  • Ooooooooh very cool!!!! LOVED it!!!

I would use it for coupons, cause its handy looking!

  • YES! very cool! I very much like it, Martha! - roc

  • Your new organizer would be great for coupons!!! I have made duct tape flowers and corsages in the past and sold them as fast as I could make them but never made a wallet.

  • That is what I was thinking too - good for coupons! and money, and ID and...just stuff! -roc

  • I didn't know either! -roc

  • You are a silly... silly girl. ;)

Yes, I've done that with magazines. Probably wouldn't if I'd just subscribe to them but...

  • I know. When our dollar was at par, I was going to subscribe then, but... time gets away from me sometimes. -roc

  • wow I love the purple wallet organizer thingy. Duct tape of all things. Yes he is a clever one. As for the book nope can't say I've done that one..ditto on the magazines tho. Maybe you could take the other book and donate it to your local library or hospital. That's usually what I do with my books after I'm done and they aren't ones I really want to keep afterward. :)

  • Alesha, I think I will take it to the senior's home down the street. They always appreciate that.

    - roc

  • LOL @ you zipping all the way up! :D

    Cool stamps!

Awe, come on! You gotta use that as a wallet! Think of all the interesting comments and conversations you will have while paying for your goodies. That is just so cool~!!! :0)

Yeah, I've done that with a book as well. But I figured it out as soon as I got in the car...and promptly took it back in for a refund. Ooops!

  • I will use it as a wallet, Joyce! Michael invited me for lunch tomorrow and I can't wait to flash my new wallet! So cool!

I was more than half way through the book before I realized that we had two copies. The only thing that makes me feel better is that when I brought the second copy home, Pat said he was glad I bought it. He forgot too. (thank God!) - roc

  • That is the coolest thing. You know when I went to see Ozzy in concert (I was 17) there was a man with a duct tape vest on....that was cool too but it wasn't purple.

  • It is cool! A duct tape vest! Imagine. -roc

  • WOW! I thought it was a purple heart

  • I bet Dave could make that too! -roc

  • hey roc can u tell me what u like to know about brazil

    that will be really helpful

    -isaac

  • I will PM you sometime tomorrow or during the weekend.

    Thanks, Isaac.

    - roc

  • ok i'll be ready just make a video or comment to me

  • Hay have a contest and give away the second book.

  • Hmmmmm. I will think about that! Thanks! -roc

  • Maybe you can trade your Michael Connelly extra with someone who has something you want to read.

  • That's a good idea! I was thinking of taking it into the senior's home that is just up the street. I am sure someone there likes Connelly. - roc

  • OH My what a wonderful wallet! I think that is so much better then some coach wallet that anyone could buy. My aplogies to any coach fans. But really that is much more clever then any wallet that coach makes. I think Dave gets very high marks for not only making it but for sending it to you, it is your color after all. Perhaps if you don't want to give the book as a gift you could donate it to your local library that way so many others would benefit from a good author. Just a thought.

  • I agree. It is much better than a coach wallet or purse! You know why?? No one has one except me. I bet there isn't another purple wallet that exists anywhere. .... Unless Dave makes another! -roc

  • I love the purple wallet roc and I so much enjoyed your vlogs!! You are such an interesting person with intelligent things to say AND you always give me a giggle.

    Hugs~Nancy

  • You giggle?? Not me. I NEVER giggle. Well, not since I was three. ... oh, and only when MBD says I am cute. Maybe. Oh, and, uh, maybe (I said MAYBE) if mickmusing is involved.

    - roc

  • Dave is incredible clever. He says he is working on something for me. I am about to bust a gut with all these notes about things being made for me. I am slightly impatient when it comes to things like that. :)

  • Yes, he is very clever. I wonder what it is... that he is working on. You're impatient?? One would never know...

  • HA! A Duck/Duct Tape Wallet!! LOOKIT THE PURPLE! Did he put in a dollar? It's good luck to send it with a little bit of money as a sign of good fortune. THEPAPERISPURPLE!!! That is a beautiful shade of purple. LOL @ showing the clavicles. I like the word frugal. I am not cheap, but like you, why throw it away if you don't have to, right?

I buy the same magazines all the time, but have started 'fixing' that issue by flipping through it before purchasing.

  • I never heard of 'duck' tape before. You said that in a video once and I thought it was funny - sort of like the "aboot" thing. I said to Pat "Beth said duck tape instead of duct tape", but low and behold- there is such an animal. The wallet is nice, huh? I like it! -roc

  • It's funny because before I bought the tape for my duck tape purse, I always called it duct tape. Then I went to get the colored version of it, and the brand was Duck Brand. What do you think about that? It totally changed my outlook on simple things like that ;)

  • Hi Roc, You can put the big bag and the extra book on eBay. You'll probably make most of your money back. Cool wallet.

  • One day, I will be brave enough to try eBay.

You're right. The wallet is cool.

    - roc

  • I LOVE purple, and I use duct tape to fix just about anything and everything around the house. I only have gray duct tape though. Oh, and some camoflage duct tape hubby got at a sportsmans show. It is very...greenish.

  • I have only ever seen grey and black duct tape! Never any other, but Dave says this purple stuff is "duck tape"!

    - roc

  • lol that was very cool and very nice of dave. lol no ducks were harmed duct tape pretty funny. My dad bought the same dvd three times. And they were very close together. lol I'll def check out the video. I have been very interested in the mountain gorillas so the apes and chimps will be interesting. Duct/duck tape always comes in handy!

  • Buying two of the same thing really annoys me (and, actually, -but don't tell anyone- makes me feel really stupid). I try to just let it go...

I never heard of duck tape before.

    -roc

  • What a great gift! It said your name all over it :) See, you can make a video every day!

  • Wasn't that nice of Dave? He is very nice - if you don't know him, you should check him out. -roc

  • Aww..what a lovely gift! I love handmade things. Very clever. Your hair looks great. hugs, Chris

  • Oh, Chris, just before I made this video, I was thinking "okay. You're having a bad hair day. Forget it and just make the video". -sigh- so, thanks for saying that! -roc

  • I am still giggling-from when you first zipped up your jacket to hide your clavicles till the very end! What a special wallet/compartmentalized folder that Dave made! He IS the most clever little thing! haha

I have bought books more than once, forgetting that I already had them. Well, you have a nice gift to give someone for Christmas now, so it won't go to waste! :D I'm off to watch the video your friend recommended. I hope it isn't sad..

  • Dave IS very cleaver and generous to have sent it to me! And, guess what, Judy?? it is purple! The problem with the book is (and I will vlog about it when I review the story) that it should be read after The Lincoln Lawyer. Yes, it is a stand alone book, but, the character is introduced in The Lincoln Lawyer. I am a little fussy about doing things in the right order. So, I can't in good conscience, just give The Brass Verdict without The Lincoln Lawyer... you see my distress. -roc

  • I love the wallet, i love the colour of it and i loved watching this video :-)

  • The colour is amazing. A beautiful rich purple (ROYAL purple, don't you know). It is the same shade as my new jacket.

And guess what that makes the wallet? PERFECT!

    I am so blessed. -roc

  • lmfao, clavicle stripping! The wallet is PURPLE! :) Awesome!

Who does like to just burn money up?

SOAB! You got two! That sucks!!!!

  • soab??.... hmmmm. ah! son of a b.... - right?? These little short forms are very modern for me. It took me forever to understand LOL meant "laughing out loud". LMAO I thought meant: Leave me alone, okay?

You need to be patient with me Dan. -roc

  • LMFAO, <3

    Its okay.

  • Ahhh! How wonderful! Yes I loved seeing you open it. You made me laugh covering those clavicles at the beginning. After I watched the video (my husband was listening) I rewatched and called him over so I could show him how you covered up those clavicles and then so boldly unzipped that vest to reveal them. LOL He thinks you're a cutie! You go girl on making a video everyday. I think I'm going to post one tonight- I did an automovlog! Hugs!

  • Oh and you actually giggled!!!! hahaha Priceless!

  • Huh.

I NEVER giggle. You must have been hearing things, Melissa. OOOOH an automovlog. Cool. I can never think of what to say in the car and it feels silly to just be talking out loud... But Beth and Lemonette do it so well. Say 'hey' to your husband for me! -roc

  • LOL at the non giggle then! Yeah my automovlog is so boring!!! I double timed it and you can still understand every word I say! Huh? LOL I'm trying to edit right now.

    *giggler!* heheheheheehehe

  • No giggler here.

  • *sniffs and bows head* Ok, You are not a giggler. I'm sorry. *looks up* but you did laugh!!!!! hehehehehehe I love it when you smile or laugh!!! heheheheeh

  • :)

Your smile when you opened it made my day. I was so worried after the build up of a Coach ostrich wallet that it would be a bit of a let down, but then you smiled. :D

You know during WWII it as a water repelling tape for ammo boxes and the like and they nick named it ducK tape. After the war it was used to seal ducTs and that stuck for a while. It just so happens that the brand used to make that wallet is ducK brand tape. duckproductsDOTcom

    Clavicle flasher!

  • You made roc smile, we don't get to see that too often, very cool wallet...I mean organizer!

  • Pretty special, huh, Tammy?

  • Pishaw! Your hand made PURPLE wallet / organizer is perfect! I love it! I am going out for lunch with Michael tomorrow and I am going to dazzle him with my purple wallet! To match my jacket! Thanks so much, Dave!

I didn't know about duck tape. And, I have only ever seen grey or black duct tape. We thought the black duct tape was designer stuff! Just imagine what I think about the purple! I will go to the website and check it out. - roc

  • They must sell that tape other places but I did happen to buy that roll and your least favorite store. I think you purchased some snack cake there recently. The website's "where to buy" page says Home Depot, Lowes or Canadian Tire must sell their products too.

    You're more than welcome.

  • i think the wallet is a work of art.

i get my books at the library, so if i get the same one more than once it's no big deal. it happens especially with prolific authors.

  • I thought the same thing about the wallet, Bonnie! It IS a work of art!

I will have to return to the library. It is safer, but it takes longer to get the new stuff. - roc

  • Oh how I laughed! That was fantastic! And so unique! I buy movies/dvd's and the kids say "We already have that!" Oops! I really loved this vlog.

  • Isn't that annoying when you buy two of the same thing? Why is it that the kids know right away??

    - roc

  • That purple 'organizer' is awesome! Love it! Very, very sweet. :)

  • Beck, I thought it was very nice of him to send it to me. It couldn't have been one of those things that you just make easily! I bet it took time.

    - roc

  • You must trust these people a great deal to give them your address, I'd always have that worry at the back of my mind that one of them were a bit "weird" and would just show up out of the blue.

  • I am cautious about who I exchange addresses with, but Dave is very trustworthy! No kidding around, though - we all need to be careful! -roc

  • Roc!! Woo hoo!! what an awesome wallet..:)

Ah, two books, the same..lol..I have done that too..:)

Going to check out the video!! Thanks for sharing!

    Have a great day!!

  • I agree - the wallet is amazing! I am very happy to have it. Homemade stuff is very special.

    - roc

  • I have bought the same book twice before. I almost bought it a third time a time before I suddenly realized I had them.

  • You must have really liked that book, Van! It makes me crazy when I do that! -roc

  • that was just the coolest!! he has to show us how he did it.

  • You will have to ask him Dianna! I bet he would show! He says it was mostly his own design. -roc

  • I tried to guess but couldn't :-)

  • It was hard for me too, Ran. Sharing the riddle certainly helped! -roc

  • Well at least we got the purple part right..

May I suggest that you give one of the books as a Christmas gift ? Maybe to Michael ??

  • I just might do that Dolores! Wasn't the purple beautiful?
