I think people are reading WAY too much into it! She's just talking about a normal arguement with her partner! If you really love that person argueing with them is extremely painful and the more in love with that person you are the more serious an arguement can seem. Well, an actual battlefield is a lot different from what the movies portray, for one. Secondly, you can't really talk about something without knowing it firsthand, otherwise it makes you look ignorant. Therefore, you kinda have to experience it in order to know what it's like, and love is NOT like a battlefield, that was a very poor simile. Love is more complicated than a battlefield, so I think there needs to be a better simile or metaphor involved.
