  • The way JR handled the whole thing from this to saying that owen died reminds me of Walter Cronkite with JFK

  • @ACannoner yeah I suppose but they were sitting in the front row, Owen had fell feet away from them

  • Tragic.. :(

  • Props to both Jarrett and Debra for being able to do any kind of character promo at that very difficult moment. We've seen alot of wrestlers pass away since Owen but none of them broke my heart like when Owen died.

  • the fans mugging for the camera behind JR minutes after owen fell make me sick

  • @DR95FTW I Dont think they Understood.

  • If anyone deserves to be in the hall-of-fame it's owen hart R.I.P

  • Vince should have stopped the event... it's sad how someone like Vince ignored the fact that a wrestler died from a stunt of this caliber, no one deserved to die on that night and if Owen hadn't agreed to do this... he wouldn't have died. But this is not his fault... it is the WWE's fault for making that happen.

  • debra is fighting back the tears in that interview.

  • VAL VENIS

  • we love you owen

  • Jeff Jarret and Jerry Lawler the look on each of their faces show how much they loved Owen, I can't believe it's been 13 years. RIP Owen u will always be missed u don't need a made up hall of fame to show how amazing u were as a father, as a husband, as a man and as a wrestler

  • R.I.P. Owen Hart

  • Why go on if someone has died

R.I.P. Owen Hart you will be missed

  • @thestaringenemy bret hart said in an interview that he did not believe owen would want the show to go on and bret was very upset it did.

  • 8:55 debrah is crying. They are both terrified right now, this is insane... Jarret is being 100% professional right now absolutely amazing, you have to love the level of professionalism both of these people are showing...

  • If you guys have been watching through the era you'll notice that jerrett and own were best friends and tag partners. Its like Jeff was an honorary Hart.

  • JR looks scared, but he handle the situation very well

  • I kind of don't give two shits about the negative comments I've gotten, so :o

  • @everhartdaniel80 i agree, but to be honest, vince had nothing to gain by keeping this going, i think he just didnt want to dissapoint the fans who shelled out 50$ to buy the ppv

  • look on the good side people at least the blue blazer kept his blet

  • The sheer fact Owen Hart was never really given the chance to win the world title was a travesty

  • reeks vince russo

  • ending the show would just have pissed off a lot of fans that at that point didn´t understand what happened... I agree that it was on the best interest of all to continued the show, my condolences to all the wrestlers that had to continue that show regarding tha accident, many kids watch this show and it was better to keep it clear and discrete, instead of giving notice that a wreslter, a star, a legend, a dad, has died on the ring.

  • Must have been so tough for the wrestlers that went out after the incident! Jeff jarrett was struggling there in that interview.

  • i remember setting my tape recorder to tape this ppv but my recorder didnt tape it and i missed the ppv and if my recorder had taped i would of seen the fall. its just shocking something like this happened. and i dont know why they continued the ppv afte rthis happened they should of cancelled the show and gave everyones money back

  • imagine if there were camera phones back in '99!! if something like that happened now, we would of saw what actually happened! RIP Owen

  • You could tell that the other WWF wrestlers weren't into their matches as much as before after Owen fell.

  • The Jarrett/Debra Promo is tough to watch. There is NO reasonable explanation for why that show continued. 12 years later, I still can't believe that Vince allowed that show to continue.

  • r.i.p owen heart

  • the ppv should of stopped after owen dying

  • This Reeked Vince Russo, glad that guy left the WWE he is one heartless bastard

  • I don't see what stopping the PPV would have done. Stopping the show wouldn't have kept Owen alive. R.I.P. but the show must go on.

  • i find it ironic the ppv is called over the edge

  • if you watch the spanish version(which has been deleted) you can here owen hit the mat and the announcers screaming

  • @hatchetman42789 This is true, I remember that and they took it off youtube it got a few million views in such a short time

  • 0.96 Look at the titantron

  • "Unfortunately the show must go on"

    Indeed

  • Too sad =(

  • NO there is nothing disrespectful about goign on with the show u know dayum wel las meh this is there job this is what they do they risk there lifes they put them on the line just to entertain us the fans..the WWE fans.....that was a terrible thign to happen but...with all due respect...the show..must...go on ley by gones be by gones.....R.I.P Owen

  • @newman84newman owen wanted out when bret and davey boy left the wwf. vince would not let him go he was stuck in his contract after bret and the rest left owen was treated like shit eg made to do things he was against plus he refused to do the stunt and vine made him do it. there are documentrys about it find them and watch them none of them wanted the show to go on many of them have said them selves

  • @bigmath11

thats no suprise to meh but the fans and their money not everyone thinks the same...

n no thanks id rather not get depressed over this again ill take ur word for it

  • @bigmath11 he wasnt treated like shit he declined to do a storyline wit debra and double j about a love quarrel, because he was married so he woulda rather done this gimmick which he did.

  • I give JR all the credit in the world for being able to keep his professionalism about him.

  • You can tell that all the other superstars were trying to keep their composure afterwards, and I don't blame them. I still think they should have cancelled this show...

  • I can't imagine how his closest friends and family felt after watching this on live television or being there in person... R.I.P Owen Hart :(

  • This is why Jeff Jarret is a great wrestler and a great man.

  • You know people blaming McMahon for continuing the show, but he was caught on the spot. You have to put yourself in his shoes. I don' t think anybody was in the right state of mind then.

    Nobody that night was.

  • Honestly, continuing this PPV after he fell was the most disrespectful thing that they could have done. The rest of the matches could have easily taken place on Raw

  • @everhartdaniel80 dude ppl payed

  • @everhartdaniel80 the show must go on. if i died during any type of performance, i would feel disrespected for the performance to come to an end.

  • @sto0pidshit bullshit..u dont feel anything after dying..ur family feels it..and the hart family felt and should have felt disrespected by what happened..

  • @veiledvulture you know what i mean, asshat.

  • @everhartdaniel80 Owen Hart would have wanted it to continue. They did it for the fans. Not for the money, not because they wanted to, not because they needed to, but for the dedicated fans. I mean i know this is a very tragic event, but WWE only comes to town about twice or three times a year. The fans live paid money to see a show. WWE is not gonna send fans home, without a show, no matter what.

  • @TheStaringEnemy Oh ok, Owen wouldve wanted it to continue. right. is there any video footage of him saying to bret "hey bret. just for the record, if i die just carry on with the show" bullshit. you stop the show, apologise to the fans, refund reschedule or whatever. its all well and good to say they want to give the fans a show, but a guy just fucking DIED in the ring. the fans wouldve understood.

  • @antsman88 Owen was the nicest guy to ever pass through the wrestling business, you don't need him on video saying "hey bret just for the record, if i die just carry on with the show." You could tell what kind of guy he was. one that would never want a show stopped because of him, no matter what happened. Ask Bret, Vince, JR, ask anybody in the Hart family, ask anyone in the WWE or in TNA or ROH that knew Owen and i bet they would all say Owen would have wanted the WWE to carry on with the show.

  • @TheStaringEnemy im sorry but i just dont agree - that to me is the kind of thing Vince Mcmahon says to justify carrying on with the show and if u dont agree with him then 'ur not honouring Owen's memory'. personally i think that if Owen was as compassionate as everyone says he would know the effect something like this would cause on his co workers emotionally - can you imagine if someone went out to wrestle and was so upset and distraught they mistimed a move, slipped and broke their neck?

  • @TheStaringEnemy Oh and just for the record, I want it to be known from now that if I die at work- STOP! lol

  • @everhartdaniel80 I agree with you, but then again I think they were thinking about the fans more than Owen. It's extremely sad.

  • @everhartdaniel80 the show must go on

  • @everhartdaniel80 use your brain the fans would've wasted their money

  • @everhartdaniel80 The fans paid money to see the show, it's not what the superstars want to do, they do it for the fans, because that's how they get there money

  • @irage101 doesnt matter when benoit died all the fans were sent home so why not for owen

  • @GangGreen80 No one was sent home, Benoit didn't die during a show. He killed his wife on a Friday, then his son, did a house show that he was late for on Saturday, hung himself Sunday evening, the bodies were discovered the next day a few hours before Raw was start. Raw did a Benoit Tribute show, a retraction of the tribute was issued by Vince the next day when it came out that it was a double murder/suicide by Benoit.

  • @milkbone69 and was anyone in the audience for a tribute show? no

  • @GangGreen80 I don't remember much about the tribute show, I only watched parts of it when it aired, that was during a period that I didn't watch wrestling much. As for a lot of the older raws & smackdowns I can re-watch them to refresh my memory because I taped a great many of them, with Owen they had decided to wrestle during the tribute, allegedly as a way for them to deal with grief, but they did cancel live events & house shows for the rest of the week and resumed the following Monday.

  • @everhartdaniel80 That's what the people paid for - to see a show. They couldn't just tell them to go home.

  • @TheFinalRiot54

    Exactly

  • @everhartdaniel80 They should have the PPV stopped after Owen's fall!!!

    ;(

  • There is actually a video. (same one but with the spanish commentary ) and you hear owen hit the ring and the spanish commentators freaking out......very disturbing

  • @mmike3000 whats it called

  • @mmike3000 where can find this video??

  • Comment removed

  • I was watching this PPV at home with my dad...and I invited one of my friends over. I remember right after Jim Ross made that "and we've got big problems out here" comment before they went to the pre-taped interview....I said to my dad and friend "that was a weird comment....I wonder what that meant". For some reason, it spooked me and gave me this bad feeling in the pit of my stomach.

  • the fans behind jr waving at the camera are evil and disturbing

how could you wave during a moment like that??

    rip owen

  • @randyHEADLOCKorton because they were on tv not because of the hart situation

  • I think the person I feel worst for is Jeff Jarrett, you can tell he has so much going through his head - professional vs personal.

Honestly though, I think Owen would have wanted the show to go on.

  • None of the fans knew that Owen suffered severe trauma; therefore, as hard as a decision as it must have been for Vince, he decided that it was best to continue the show for the fans. Whether it was right to do, I don't know, but it's the decision he made.

  • STOP THE FUCKING SHOW FOR FUCK SAKES... SOMEONE JUST DIED... How The Fuck Can You Even Wrestle After Hearing News Like That.... R.I.P Owen... One Of The GREATEST!...

  • had to comment the comment total was just sitting at 666

  • @Todd619fp i get your point

  • I laughed, not out of disrespect for Owen Hart but because of the humiliation that the WWE must have had because of this.

  • @Dumbodog4 it is not funny you sicko

  • I got home and ordered it right when Jim ROss said "This is not a wrestling angle"... And was devistated.

  • this is kinda depressing......

  • 8:40 u can see Debra holding back, very sad...smh.......RIP OWEN HART

  • @jpoe7 even undertaker was

  • i dont understand! someone pls tell me.. he never falled? or we never saw it? was the camra off or what?

  • @samhoe111 He was getting ready to come out and he fell, Im sure the camras saw him but can't film anything serious like this

  • @MrTheGreatOne1 ok but everyone saw that at the venue?

  • @samhoe111 everyone live saw, they were 100% right not to show the footage or him being treated in the ring, its so sad.

  • @OWLovethBL rip :(

  • @OWLovethBL on the "dont try this at home" on the WWE dvds from 2005-2007 it shows them lift him up on the stretcher

  • @187NewJack Actually, that was Droz being carried out when he was injured. If you look closely you can see the Smackdown banner on the apron.

  • @monarched from when he got hurt against d lo?

  • @187NewJack Yes.

  • @monarched i see it. i dont know what made me think it was Hart.

  • @187NewJack That's Droz not Owen Hart.

  • @JoeDawgJC yeah i realized the SmackDown apron on the side after i posted that

  • @samhoe111 No, they just had the common sense to not show the footage on television. Though, it was terribly heartbreaking that he died :(

  • First, Undertaker gave that speech on taking souls and 'your heroes', the owen dies.

  • I still can't believe they continued on after Owens fall. First off, wouldn't the ring be considered a crime scene, and second, like Bret said, if that had been Shane, the show definantly would have been cancelled.

  • It was hard for Jarrett to go out there because he was good friends with Owen Hart and you know he was not 100% in the match mentally. I don't like Jarrett but I praise him for still going out there.

  • You know, having the show continue could've caused more injury? The superstars weren't all there (mentally). One wrong move and they could've got injured, or injured their opponents.

  • R.I.P owen

  • The look on Lawlers face @7:26 is just the look of complete shock

  • R.I.P Owen we still miss you.

  • 1:09

  • ewwwww nicole bass!

  • Who would of thought that when Jim Ross said ''we've got big problems out here'' we'd think that it would be quite this serious.

    R.I.P Owen.

  • if u have the vid of owen falling whitch one is it

  • @munkyjunior16 your retarded.

  • But Jeff Jarrett's words were well put...

As best he could, he went on with all he had, although no one would know until after the show.

  • I don't know about what you, Vince, or the WWE employees would've done, but... I would've stopped the show.

  • He moved his leg* Excuse me...

  • I was there When it happened. It was my first time going to see wrestling... I remember when his neck hit the ropes. He died IN THE RING. He went rather fast too... I moved his lag for a min and just left... It was sad... I remember jeff telling Debra to pull it together and they had a show to do in the middle of the match cause debra was about to break down. It was sad... :/ I was like 9 years old... Sad times...

  • i remember crying like a baby ehwn this happened

  • @odihjiohzd

    fucking pussy

did you actually know him? no!!!!!

    must be a virgin

  • @Nappy1987 May I ask why? You don't know how old he was when this happened. Maybe he was 8 years old. I was there when I was 3. Had nightmares for weeks. Fuck off.

  • 'OVER THE EDGE'

Wake up, the title is a clue that it was a live sacrifice

    fuck the illuminati

  • @Nappy1987 dumbest fucking comment ive ever read

  • @Nappy1987 You are a retard

  • @Nappy1987 If that was the case, Vince Russo(the person who wrote Owen to descent) would be dead right now for carrying around valuable info about 'the sacrifice'. It was an accident, nothing more.

  • I FEEL FOR THE PEOPLE WHO WERE THERE LIVE AND WATCHED HIM FALL TO HIS DEATH. MY CONDOLENCES REMAIN WITH HIS FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND FANS WHO WERE PRESENT TO ENDURE SUCH A TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE. MY HEART IS WITH ALL OF YOU! =[

  • I am so mad after 12 years. The WWE or then-WWF really are responsible. They are required to properly plan these stunts and are not permitted to allow the NON-USE of the safety back-up latches. He was apparently nervous about doing it. Someone should have talked him out of it. Vince is responsible for this. Either the back-up latches are to be used or the stunt should not have been permitted. It is their responsibility and I'm glad they paid out the 18 million bc they screwed up! =[

  • Rip Owen.

  • RIP Owen,, you are Missed.... an personally,, I Don't care much for Vince!!!!

  • God, Debra trying to talk really got me - She clearly didn't want to do that interview because she was so upset.

  • When The King speaks like that.....you know he is not fucking around.

  • i wanna see him fall

  • @cae202 Fuck you.

  • i will always take my vitamins say my prayers and drink my milk...R.I.P owen

  • take your vitamins say your paryers drink your milk....where they making fun of H.Hogan?

  • "Well ladies and gentlemen, unfortunately, the...the..ee..show must go on."

I understand Kayfabe and everything, but HOLY SHIT!...someone just fuckin' Died!!!

  • @mecully They hadn't found out yet.

  • Comment removed

  • @mecully You know I gotta agree with this. You can even see that the wrestlers weren't in it at all after this incident. Watch Billy Gunn after he beats Road Dogg, puts his head down, and walks out of the ring. Look at Undertakers face immediately after Austin's music hits...he looks down at the spot Owen fell and has this look that can only be described when in that moment...it's really tragic, and the fact that his closest peers outside family saw it live makes it even the more heartbreaking.

  • It's weird that they didn't show his intro i mean when you do something like that (coming from the rafters) they usually show it.

  • @mossfreak7 EXACTLY SO ITS LIKE WHAT WAS THE POINT OF HIM EVEN DOIN IT IF THEY WERE NOT GOINT TO SHOW IT

  • @purplecity2714 yeah so true but I guess it was timing though.

  • @mossfreak7 i think he sould have not been doin this anyway like come on owen heart flying threw the sky like a super hero ???? he should have been in the main event with undertaker an austin triple threat or in a match with the rock or hhh hell even kane i always wanted to see that fued owen vs kane for some reason

  • @purplecity2714 I know that does sound perfect for him he was so underrated he could of been a main eventer so much earlier. Instead they have him feuding with godfather for the ic title under a ridiculous gimmick I mean really he should at the time already won the title a few times got into some feuds with taker and kane hhh or the rock. I mean those guys were only there half the time owen was at the time and they were stars but man "what about Owen" they were being idiots.

  • @mossfreak7 exactly it wouldnt have hurt the company to give him a push but hey they always do that with great talent look at ken shamrock he could have been a wwf champion at least once thats why their in the position that their in now fuckin up the talent for the money dont they realize we are the money smh at vince he really fucked up

  • @purplecity2714 I know his dad gave him a gold mine and all he had to do was run it right but he keeps making idiotic moves. He has had so much talent come into his arsenal just to let it go to waste. I mean some of the wcw guys he got weren't half bad but since they werent breed in wwe since the beginning a lot are gone now. Also he uses his main eventers to there breaking points i mean if he just used more guys like owen he wouldn't have run down austin edge hbk, etc to the point of retirement

  • @mossfreak7 thats what im saying that it he has to use his talent if not all he is goint to do is jus break down the ones he keeps usuing over an over again example john cena is going to get so injured by the time he's in his 30's look at hhh an undertaker yea takers old but he shouldnt be as brittle or fragile as he is an yea wcw an ecw had superstars that could have went all the way like rvd eddie gurrero chris benoit none of them got tittle shots until they were at the ends of there time

  • @purplecity2714 I know right they wait entirely to long then expect wrestlers who are old or getting up there to do this on a regular basis. He should see the guys with the talent and raise them to championship status early on so they won't be all worn out when they are older. John Cena isn't gonna be around much long at the pace he's going he's getting up in age and soon there will be nothing left. Taker is on his last leg basically and there wont be many more wrestlemania's for him.

  • @mossfreak7 takers out man he was still injured at this years wrestle mania that match was alrite but wasnt what it was hyped up to be beacuse of his injury we wont see him for a long time then when we do see him it probably will be his last run i hope he goes 20 an 0 though these young guys have alot of potential like ted debiase u cant tell me he dosent remind you of randy orton a lil lol push the young guys but wach how u do it i still dont see the point of giving the belt to jack swagger tho

  • @purplecity2714 I know and they didnt want that match to outshine shawn michaels it didnt anyways but still and man 20-0 and would be epic I bet there gonna ask if he wants to hang up his boots there. Jack Swagger shouldnt have been champ I think he needed to be more up there for that they should give other ppl a try like john morrison he's overlooked to be champ and has potential and I know what u mean by dibiase man and I feel the same with rhodes they should be up there fighting for the gold.

  • @mossfreak7 i bet they never get a shot or if they do its going to be a gimmick so they wont win but how do you feel about the miz an his tittle run ???

  • @purplecity2714 I think he deserved it but I think he should of been fighting for the belt with other guys that deserved it and not John Cena who's involved in everything. the Miz he has a good gimmick he really sells but he should of feuded with other guys like morrison dibiase rhodes maybe even give dh smith a chance idk they need to shake it up a bit bring some guys who've been there a while but never got a chance they should actually get chances get the belt they need new blood .

  • @mossfreak7 yea i agree with you on that one another thing that i dont agree with is that some guys that were in the company for a while an worked for a tittle shot like the rock austin etc but swagger on the other hand got the shot only after what one year how is that fair lol

  • @purplecity2714 I know and another thing is shamus I mean come on that guy was there less than a year I'm sorry but that's bullshit plain and simple. What the hell is there problem are they freaking allergic to success to giving those who truly deserve it a shot.

  • People lost a friend, a hero, a father, a brother, a son, and husband and so much more you really don't realize what you have till its gone away...

  • I bet that had to be hard for Jim Ross to have to be the one to have to say what happened to Owen.

  • Wow a lot of you are starting arguments we all miss Owen that's a given and we all know that its crazy with what happened but you all need to stop beating each other up verbally about it.

  • I don't get it so they had stopped it as he fell or what and I didn't know there match was next.

  • Also, look at the guy behind JR at 1:17
