Explanation: What's happening above those clouds? In the past few years, videos have appeared on the web detailing an unusual but little known phenomenon: rapid light changes over clouds. Upon inspection and contemplation, a leading hypothesis for its cause has now emerged. In sum, this hypothesis holds that a lightning discharge in a thundercloud can temporarily change the electric field above the cloud where charged ice crystals were reflecting sunlight.

So what you are seeing is sunlight reflecting off ice crystal faces that are constantly being oriented by the developing electric field just above the [cumulonimbus] top. Then there is a discharge in the cloud, and the field collapses momentarily, and the crystals begin to realign again. Then this just keeps happening over and over.

I agree with your assessment, but it's obvious that the electric field is being intentionlly manipulated. Weather control and manipulation is the single biggest pursuit right now.

AFAIK its the pileus clouds (tiny ice particles above cumulonimbus cloud) that aligns itself to the changing magnetic field cause they're really sensitive to magnetic fields (microteslas) and this causes refraction of the light which in turns create some really funny shapes... oh nature you so scary!

You're seeing clouds moving (in the wind...it's obviously very windy, yes??)....the clouds in the background are partially obscured by the bigger one in the foreground. The "flashes" are just sunlight catching the moving clouds, behind....as you view them through the "holes" that allow you to see what's going on in background.

BTW....wind currents can be very, very different at varying altitudes, and even locations. Thus, the larger foreground cloud doesn't move much, others do.

Further, the flashes could additionally be lightning that you can't see directly, reflecting off the clouds you do see.

That is very interesting. I've seen video from Nasa where thunder clouds emit plasma bursts from the top of the cloud. This is a very rapid phenomenon. It is more than just refraction. I am wondering if electrical activity (as in lighting) is vaporizing the thin whispy cloud and thus changing the property of the light refracting through it? Thanks for posting.
