I had this problem until I did a consultation with Chris Kendell and now I eat more fruit less fat and feel better then ever.....Glad you are spreading the word harley
Harley I have to disagree about the weed and mushrooms. Both can give profound spiritual experiences with literally 0 side effects. They were put on earth for humans to enjoy, just like fruit and veg were.
i love watching your videos, only been watching for 3 days already feel wayyyyyy better the bags under my eyes are already going away, energy is waaay up and more stabalised, my vegan girlfriend who also has fibromyalgia and was also eating a high fat diet is ALREADY feeling better after 6 - 8 years of pain and fatique THANK YOU, keep up the rants man its all good
People generally feel 'better' when they consume omega 3 oils, that's just because they eat far too many omega 6 oils (most added oils are based on this). Consuming omega 3 just helps balance it out. It's far better just to stop eating all the excess omega 6 oils (+other fats), that will address the imbalance without consuming any added fats. On a whole food diet you can go 2 or 3 months with no fat foods at all. Perhaps occasionally have chia seeds or similar. There's enough fat in whole food!
My car is made of metal, yet I don't need to keep feeding it metal. The same goes with us and protein. We only actually need approx 5% of our calories from protein (even the world health organisation says so). Fruit has enough protein, greens has huge amounts, rice has lots, potatoes has not so much. Funnily enough, the less protein and fat I eat the better I feel.
If it's any help, I started eating cooked carb's because I couldn't get enough ripe fruit. This is FAR FAR better than eating any raw fat, nuts seeds etc. I still eat lots of greens and have a low fat diet (less than on 80 10 10). The other day I did an 80 mile bike ride carrying lots of gear in the hills. I had a FABULOUS day! I was fueled with bananas initially then lots of baked potatoes. I still had lots of energy at the end.
@werbelloff Yea, that's called bullying. Acting shocked to my questions about GI physiology in a very condescending way - THAT IS BULLYING. Implying my questions don't belong because they seek to "fool the vegan crowd" is bullying. You don't represent the "vegan crowd". You tried making my thoughts unwelcome in a community you don't govern, in a topic you are no authority on, and on a position you knew nothing about. I don't DESIRE to imagine you're a bully. Bullies suck! And always fail.
@werbelloff I'm examining the human physiology and you're just being an asshole. Who do you think you are bombarding me with questions as if I was the one to be offensive. I don't do blind faith and I don't go after people that want to do objective research. Don't you DARE try to tell me who I am or why I am. You don't know shit about me. Don't try to police thoughts and comments! You're no authority on this subject. So keep to yourself if you can't exchange information in a collaborative way.

I really would enjoy a rational argument against veganism, problem is there simply aren't any pro-meat arguments that aren't deceptive or relying on wild speculation and myths. All the data supports veganism; the only honest justifications for meat eating are 'i'm too lazy to be a vegan.' and 'i like the taste of meat and don't think animals are worthy of my compassion because i'm a human, therefore humans are #1!'

On the first of Jan, I went from being 80% raw vegan to 100%, and I LOVE IT! I love feeling and looking younger and trimmer. However, in the beginning, I was tired, and had lots of brain fog. Then I discovered your videos and began to experiment with adding more fruit. Within a day, mental clarity was restored, and life started feeling FUN again! I appreciate the work you do Harley. Peace
Dude, I'm amazed u reply to most comments here. First - ur awesome. Second, PLEASE make a video response to "SecretsOfLongevity" 's video titled "The Fruitarian Myth (Part 1 of 2)" and part 2 of 2. U are excellent in pausing in their videos and examining claims that u believe are false. His strongest argument is "our small intestines are >twice size of our large intestines." He attributes this to our evolution of diet from fruitarian to omnivore. Please watch at least pt 1 and tell what u think
@DreamStars21 Zak is a nice guy. He is just parroting the fat boyz anti fruit pro superfood sales paradigm. I mean if I have to convince people that eating fruit is healthy..LMAO! ;)
@durianriders Cool mate, I agree with fruit totally. I am curious about the large intestine/small intestine ratio he cited. Zak recites that large intestine are better for absorbing easy to digest calories, small intestine are better for absorbing hard to digest calories. He says we shifted from 70% L-Intestine, 30% small, to the reverse - 70% small 30% large. I don't millisecond dream that therefore we need heaps of fat. But maybe the ratio change means our system is designed for Some flesh???
It just seems to make sense - large intestines - larger bag - less chum touching intestinal wall. Smaller, thinner bag - more chum touching intestinal wall, & thus, more villi working to absorb the high density calories. Zak says all fruitivore apes, bonobos, chimps, etc. have mostly large intestines - larger bags that don't need to have all chum nose to nose with the intestinal walls because fruit chum is easily absorbed. See what I'm saying? I love 811, I just want to address this properly.;)
@DreamStars21 that dude zak is so mis-informed, I mean just look at the things he eats. He's like david wolfe and vitalis combined. Start looking at any info from jeff novick,dr.mcdougall,or dr.esselstyn and you will see right through all the shit that guy spews
@82Bdog I totally agree - that guy Zak even Looks "off"... He doesn't look like DR FL DTM or all the other amazing LFRV's... I just thought there might be something to why our GI physiology is seems more like that of faunivores than that of the frugivores. We thrive off of fruit, and I love it...but shouldn't our GI physiology be specialized for fruit? Hmm.. maybe it's that fruit is best, but our GI is designed for survival - we can eat junk for calories, but fruit is still best. aha! may be it
DR sounds like my DARE instructor(U.S. anti drug classroom propaganda that we get in the place actual academic study) For someone who doesn't recognize any marked difference between pot, ayahuasca, ecstacy etc he sure seems to have a lot of interest in the subject.
You're killing me with your anti-nut/nut butter comments. I love them both dearly and eat them everyday. Even nut butters are a whole food; just ground up nuts. We agree that refined oils are unnatural, dangerous, and should be avoided completely, but nuts are definitely edible and delicious in their raw state, unlike most grains.
I realize they're high in fat, but it's non-oxidized fat and it can't be all that bad for you. Add a little ground flax for omega 3's and you're good, brah...
@quicksilver3x3 Thank you. I eat them everyday and I haven't developed a weight problem, or a blood sugar problem. No problems here; been eating peanut butter, pecans, walnuts, almonds everyday for years... If we weren't supposed to eat them, they wouldn't taste so good.
@1imesub Some people like myself can't tolerate any extra fat tho. If I eat an avocado, I get sore gums and candida symptoms. A small amount of hemp seeds is usually fine, but pumpkin seeds gave me acne and candida and that was when I was a new raw fooder and calorie restricting and eating apple and spinach smoothies and 4 bananas/dates for desert thinking that was the only way (a few months). If nuts/seed work for you, cool. H has to give advice which works optimally for newbies tho. Peace :)
@natureasintended I crave fats. I crave avocados, hummus, nuts and nut butters. Gotta have some everyday. I've tried a few 100% raw days, but they always include either avocados or nuts. I try to eat lettuce or baby spinach salads everyday, but they're just not complete without a handful of pecans or walnuts.
Encouraging people to cut out meat is what's most important to me. If you tell people not to eat nuts and avocados, you're going to turn people away. It's counter-productive.
@1imesub Fair enough. A handful of nuts/seeds sounds right. Personally I jus dont seem to be able to tolerate it very well & hav to be careful. Ppl like yourself who hav been eating raw vegan for long enough find out what does/doesn't well for them. I guess these videos include targeting new people who often hav health/candida issues & need to start from square one and can then experiment with nuts/seeds once established. Hey, I think I've seen great, supportive vegan comments from you. Peace :)
