  • Nice car man! What's the name of the song that you used in the video?

  • Nice!

  • I have a 91 LX hatch that same emerald green color... After seeing this video ima go get window tint and black wheels.. can't forget the blacked out tail lights.. sweet ride

  • i used an 84 crown vic 302 interceptor motor, trans for my project and i hope for the same performance

  • I hope you own stock in a tire company...

  • cool... burnouts...

  • I like it. Mines a 4cyl auto too. But building a 351W with a 5spd now :)

  • crazy driver!! we like it!!

  • I like it!!

  • Dumb ass people. Carbs have been kicking ass for decades. You don't have to run efi for a bad ass setup you just need hmmmm skills other them turning on a flash tuner

  • I Fucking love it! he must be my brother! or my other twin! oh hell he just loves his stang! fun isn't it,I have a 82 capri rs and 82 stang and it is my hell ride no easy miles on it! both 302 factory rs-4spd,gt-5spd rs stock gt roll bars, sub frame con,8.8,4:10 southside lift bars double adj uppers had my torqe boxes welded. did you weld yours? if not do it asap!

  • did you blow it up yet? or did you start treating it better?

  • @killa94z28 - it's meant to be driven, hard or otherwise. no it hasn't blown up. the motor now resides in a 1993 GT Convertible and runs awesome. the green notch is waiting patiently for a bigger small block along with a power adder so we can REALLY do some damage.

  • great results on your project. I just completed restorarion of my 93 notch. checkout video sometime. Craig

  • 140 mph +, carefull now!

  • great car im jelous that you got a dad that was willing to do this for you, kinda silly to run a carb on a car that was great with a efi but im not judgeing everyone does it with these conversions and yours seems to run good

  • @DIMEBAGJIMMY426 - trust me, it's not 'silly' at all to run carburetion on a motor like this. carburetors are simple, easy and inexpensive to work with and, if tuned right, will perfom just as well on as EFI...

average cost of setting up EFI is $2000+, average cost of setting up a carb is $450.

  • @pmm01532 But those of us who have EFI don't have to wait for our cars to warm up in the winter lol That's the only reason why I like fuel injected and not carb. Love the coupe by the way.

  • ffine fine. well stop talking about all this work on mine and finish yours!!!

  • wow never would have thought that my little green beater would have gotten so much positive feedback. thanks for all the comments guys and although my dad claims to turn all tje wrenches dont let him fool you im older and learned alot over the years lol. but for those who asked my plan is a t76 408.

  • hmmmm... you did the 5-lug conversion (which changes the looks), you did the lowering (which changes the looks) and you beat the crap out of it (which changes the looks). hmmmmm.

now let's see... I rebuilt the engine. I built the wiring harness. installed the linelocks, fixed the ignition how many times, installed new u-joints, fixed the problem with the clutch/shifting, converted from EFI to carburetor, lifted the transmission in/out how many times, bought you the black wheels for x-mas...

  • @pmm01532 haha :)

  • @ 0:30 car look so Fuckin Badass with the black rims. Stealthy fucker!

  • @GrantEvanGriffith - I built the motor and put the car together. my son did the lowering, the wheels and converted to black interior. and he did the driving.

  • @pmm01532 cars pretty dope, keep those black rims! I love the coupes, i'd trade my hatch for a coupe any day. Lopes pretty hard for an E cam too. Im expecting mine to run low 14's as well

  • im so jelous i swapped a 5.0 into my notchback but i am having a hard time on the water pump

  • damn :') thats BEAUTIFUL

  • how do you like the 3.73's? im thinking of getting some but im not sure if 4.10's would be better. do you know how much top speed would be affected from 3.73's to 4.10's?

  • 3.73s are the best choice for a mild street/strip combination... 4.10s are a better choice for a dedicated track machine...

depending on your cam/heads/intake/induction, you will see a slight improvement in E.T. with the 4.10s, although trap speed MAY be adversely affected. you can always try both ratios and see which one works better for your combo.

  • Im doing the same exact swap pretty much, Ive got a 91 coupe and I ripped out the 4 banger and auto and put in a 347 and WC T5. Just waiting to get her running... Did you have to cut about an inch and a half out of the tranny tunnel to fit a manual? I had to do that and put in a metal piece out of a V8 car luckily which I have

  • hey man i am lookin at swapping out my 2.3t for a 302. i got way to many problems with it as wireing ect ect, i like the carbed motors not that fuel injected shit. but i am lookin at doing it a cheap as possable but yet safe. how long did it take you to do the swap???

  • @dirtdog16 be careful with the carb swap you may live to regret it for a long time mass air is better for fine tuning and especially in the winter if you have to drive it mass air is the way to go TRUST ME i just did it check my vids i swapped just barely got it running switched a month ago

  • obviously you didn't watch the video close enough to see how well this car runs on a Holley 4150...

agreed, fuel injection is highly tunable, but so are carbs. you just have to know how and there's a great book put our by Holley showing all the tricks. I agree with the statement about cold weather driving, but, I have a nearly identical 5.0 to my sons', except I have a B303 cam, and I drove my '93 notchback through FOUR horrendous winters through temperatures that were down below 0 degrees F.

  • one word, excessive... bet it's fun though

  • excessive? it's nearly a stock motor, except for the cam.

  • @pmm01532 yea manz fo real...excessive my azz....jus a stock block 302 showin wat its worth iz all...need to convert mah 87 T-Bird sport to carb and 5 spd...mass air fuel injection wit aod wit stage 1 shift kit and 4:10's an 70 mm edelbrock tb and spacer and bbk equal length shorties an flowmaster 40's right now...tryna go for tht torqe monsta 390 FE...u kno...lookin for tht 420 ft pnds tq at 2500 rpm ;p and how much did you spend in the 5 lug conversion???

  • whats the rims size on of the black rims? 18?

  • Rim size front and rear are 17 x 9...

  • Besides the obvious v8 engine and if possible 5 speed tranny, what are the other major components needed to convert a 4cyl a/t to a v8 5spd. I bought a lil red 4cyl a/t for a few hundred bucks that runs great, just needs body work, I saw the pottential and couldn't pass it up. Is it expensive to do the conversion, and is it very difficult?? I know I can find a decent engine and tranny at a used parts yard for a decent price, its the other parts I'm not sure about. All info appreciated greatly.

  • Its not that its hard its just theres SO much stuff to do... I just did this swap and I changed front brakes, spindles, struts, rearend, motor, tranny... The absolute WORST thing is switching pedals... It took me 10 hours to remove them from a wrecked V8 car and remove the auto pedals and install the V8 ones and Im no dummy when it comes to cars. It absolutely SUCKS but once thats done, everything else is fairly easy

  • the best way I've found to do a pedal swap, is to do it blind... trust your fingertips. keeping my head out of the way reduces my stress and gives me more room to work... having an air ratchet and long extensions also makes it easier. one more tip, looking at the pedal assy., the top-left nut on the firewall is the most difficult. what I do, is position my socket on the nut and feed the extensions through the bracket until it seats into the socket. using a bit of prying force always helps.

  • im doing the exact same thing to my 87. nice job. what did you do for suspension?

  • Eibach lowering springs (2" drop) and Tokico struts and shocks.

  • How do you lock the front wheels but not the rears? Excellent job :)

  • locking the front wheels is done by installing an electrically controlled valve that holds fluid pressure to the front wheels when the brake pedal is released, known as "line locks" or "roll control". you can buy complete kit from JEGS or Summitt Racing.

  • Very nice! I have a 2.3 notch that i will soon be pullin the 4 cyl out in prep for a 302. Videos like this inspire me to do it faster.

  • trust me, it'll be well worth it when it's done!

  • as far as engine swaps go how hard is it to change from a 2.3 to a v8 and whats some good engine choices to do it i have a 93 lx hatchback

  • honestly, it's a very easy swap, but you'll need the parts and the tools to make it flow easy. the logical choice is a 5.0 or 5.8 motor, cheapest choice. but with the right kit, you can install a BB 460 or any modular motor...

  • @robert42082

If your planning on a rebuild like that your better off changing everything you will need a new rear end if it does not have the 8.8 or 9 inch also depends on trans go with a 5 speed if possible or install a shift kit with a 3400 stall :D thats what i did.

  • notchbacks are awesome. i would like to get one and throw a 347 in it. foxbodies r so light, theyre like big go carts!

  • man i hate the bodies of these 5.0 stangs but i gotta admit. this is the nicest one ive seen on here. so much power too the way it swings that tail end around towards the end of the video. great job!

  • All of the v8 fox body's can do that!!!

  • well i wouldnt know. personally im a chevy guy but i will gladly admit when i see a nice car. the way this car spins those tires so easily is admirable. my uncle has a retired fox body with the police chip K&N air filter and dual flowmasters. ive been in it but he's never really gotten on it.

  • Yeah these mustangs are so light and with a v8 they slide all over the place!

  • Good to see the owner putting in the wrench time. I looked at your other videos and I see you in all of them....Awesome work! Sounds like you did a good job on the rebuild...where do you guys hail from? I'd like to see it in person and run for fun....later

  • my son and I are from Massachusetts... thanks for the positive feedback...

  • those black 18s? any chance u could send me a good pick with those wheels on it?

  • thats a bad mustang. Great job

  • thanks.

  • nice video thats a sexy ass mustang!!!!

    good job on the conversion

  • hey thanks

  • sick video! what song did you use?

  • Puritania by Dimmu Borgir. I have an .mp3 copy if you want it.

  • this vid goes off

  • what do you mean?

  • i have a 91 4 cylinder ex !! and i have a carbureted 302 boss i want to put in it what drivetrain parts do i need besides a new rearend and rotors and brakes !! any help would be appreciated thanx!!!

  • I think you mean 91 "LX"! LOL

Engine, Trans, Bell housing, Drive shaft, Rear End, Brakes, Sub Frame Connectors(weak frame), Front Suspension, Rear Suspension, Radiator, Recommend Gear Box or at least Rack and Pinion. All the little stuff to with all of this!

  • it's a '93, trust me.

  • LOL I was referring to the guy asking about his 91 EX mustang! I believe you!

  • gotcha, sorry.

  • really nice car man. got anymore plans for it?

  • thanks. my son takes all the credit for the looks, I just twist the wrenches. he's got a 351 that will end up in it eventually. he's always looking at new wheels, I never know what he's gonna do next.

  • ill bet she loves playing in that cold weather.. nice job man

  • works very well up to 6000 rpm. not so much low end torque.

  • Nice job! Thanks for the vid response looks like you did a damn good job on the swap congrats! I'll race ya..... Hehe
