  • Thats a sweet running little motor.I have a 1957 7.5 and runs strong.

  • @1957evinrude Yes there a nice old little motor alright

    I too had a 57 evinrude but in a 5.5hp

    Cheers..........

  • What fuel pump did you use in your conversion?

  • @paleriderken The same one as on my 5.5 evinrude, you can buy them on ebay for $20

Go to toms outboard forums for more detail

  • I have the same one, 1954 7.5 Fleetwin. It is one of my most prized possessions.

I love my little Evinrude for several reasons. Lightweight, tote it anywhere. Has forward, neutral and reverse, rare in a motor this size and is one of the nicest looking vintage motors out there. Put one behind a small wooden boat and it's pure beauty. Purrs like a kitten all day on very little fuel. You won't water ski behind one but it gets me around well in a 12' alum. They don't build them like that anymore.

  • @DanOblacksmith Yes the 7.5 fleetwin is so light weight and a real nice runner too. We all seem to marvel at how clever we are in this day and age but seriously these 50 year old motors are just as reliable as the hi tech ones of today.

Outboard motors are pretty slick and perfect looking these days, but lack the character these old antiques seem have.

  • Yeah Im in australia now LOL

  • Hey you took the Ohio registration tag off?
