  • @MyMoppet52 Thanks for the reply, and for trying. I've been curious about the Cajun French in there for a long time, definitely mixed with English.

  • Can anyone give a translation of the intro (besides "Let me call this little girl one time")? Please?

  • @brennalaus I've got a New Orleans friend. He's into Fess so let me check with him. Wish me luck. Thanks for listening & I appreciate your comment. Moppet

  • @brennalaus This isn't going to help much. I know a life long music lover from the New Orleans area. This is his take on the intro & talking that Fess is doing...

"I don't know what he's sayin' in "Hey Little Girl". I thought I heard "coupe" and Chevrolet" mentioned. Fess just sort of made stuff up & mixed it in French & English. There's also the use of Mardi Gras Indian chanting too.

  • I definitely agree with you. His music and his life testify his very talent and the fact that Professor Longhair is a milestone in music history.

  • @bartolo77pt Thank you. I appreciate the fact that you took the time to comment. Take care and come back for a listen whenever you want. My best, Barbara
