Somali president's stand is understandable. The point is, Kenya has the intention of creating a state in the greater Jubba region that neighbours Kenya led by a few warlords that do not represent the people of Jubbaland. This will create more tribal conflict and wars after the departure of Alshabaab. Thus, Kenya wants to destroy one enemy and create another for the Somalis which = STATUS QUO. As much as we hate alshabaab, we also hate those who create division among us.

My guess is that the Somali president is backing away from the agreement (unofficially) so that when Al-Shabaab falls, he can't be seen as a weak leader by anybody who wants to challenge him politically. The TFG and AMISOM can't even hold the capital as it is. Hilarious.
