  • very good tutorial! Thank you

  • This is going on the list for a rainy day project. The kids and I really loved this video. Thanks!

  • you can mix sand in while mixxing the two compounds, you owuld still have to paint it.... or right after as soon as you can throw sand on it,

  • and what it does

  • SALUDOS DESDE barcelona, me ha gustado mucho este video, no entiendo nada de lo que dice pero ... me da ideas, jejej

    quizas nos veamos .

    salud y caches.

  • you could also make fake dog poop out of this too.

  • Hi Triple H i love Your videos. I followed this one and it actually looked really good. Except for the part where i used indoor paint but i fixed that quickly. I had idea about making a birdhouse geocache. It is actually a real bird house just with a false bottom with a hole drilled in for a bison tube. Thumbs up to get H3 to read this and make this video.

  • splendid collection

  • HOW TO MAIKE VIBRATOR)))or pinis

  • I began watching your videos when i started in January, and now I've watched prettymuch all of them! I love every single one because your FUN! This video made me want to have even more creativity than simple ammo cans in the woods. Thanks for all the time you had on making these for everyone!!

  • hmmm wonder how much epoxy would take to do a quart sized container lol...a couple quarts?

  • Your an evil genius

  • Can you tell me that chemical name, because I try to make an old spice can to camo that it would be fake tree stick.

I would love to try this chemical, silicone doesnt dry that fast as this :)

  • Do You Try To Make Your Videos Look Like Bill Nine The Science Guy?

  • @vidman228 I love Bill Nye :) I am actually a big fan. I really try to have a Mike Roe from Dirty Jobs and Alton Brown from Good Eats feel to them. The simpler the props the better. Course we have zero budget which does dictate some creative ideas.

    Thanks for watching.

    -HHH

  • @headhardhat You just named my 2 favorite hosts!

  • @headhardhat yay Bill Nye is Awesome!

  • Hello Mr HeadHardHat,

Have been checking out your vids & enjoy them - have even made your Candy Cane with great success, what I want to know is...what is the equivialent to 'bondo' if you know in Australia? an ant hill cache here would be great

    Cheers Ms Wig

  • good but where could you hide it without getting it trashed

  • @redbaron447 You take that chance with any geocache you put out. I do admit I placed one of these in an area where muggles were less likely to step on it accidentally.

    -HHH

  • might even be better with a large cache

  • @lespaulgtars By all means, let me know what you come up with.. That would be interesting with a larger geocache.

    -HHH

  • very good Geocach

  • @momo4236 Why thank you, I and apparently a whole lot of other people agree with you.

    -HHH

  • Where is the hide?

What will i see around it?

I assume you will hide it in an area out in the open where it will blend in well to the landscape.

  • @tomwmloppe This particular hide you would want to do like you suggested. Paint it to blend in with the surrounding ground cover so it doesn't stick out. Thanks for watching!

    -HHH

  • There are no ant hills in Wa. state, so that wouldn't work.

But we do have these huge slugs that NOBODY wants to touch.

    You might google search

    'banana slugs'.

They are big, and ugly, and the only thing a person could do, is pour a pound of salt on it, or walk away.

That would by default make GeoCache not found.

    You should try it.

Maybe get some of that rubber that is used in making flexible fishing lures.

  • @tomwmloppe A banana slug geocache. Hmmm, that is pretty local but I could see making one and using a nano. Very cool idea.

    -HHH

  • Ok., you tricked me.But I cannot imagine an ant ,thinking to himself, 'ah, ha!, an ant hill.'

perhaps he would think, 'I don't see George, or Jim, or Mary. Come to think of it ,I don't see anybody. Maybe someone is trying to trick me.'

  • I just made mine It turned out amazeing! im 14 a did it no problem it looks very real thanks HHH

  • @rcman098 Awesome! Congrats. -HHH

  • @rcman098 you can pick up the film canisters at a local film development store. Wal-mart, Kroger, etc... for the activation paste I'm sure you can pick that up at any General Hardware store.

  • @muttinc02 Try asking the people at Wolfe Camera stores too. I have recieved tons of 35mm containers from them as well... The activation paste comes with the bondo.

    -HHH

  • Kind of looks like a dookie to me.

  • were do I get the film canisters and the activation stuff?

  • two things 1 .were can I find 35mm film anisters like this?

    2. When you guy the bondo dose the activation paste come with it ?

    thanks

  • can anyone translate the items you need for this cache into german or just spell it i dont know what these items are... i try to google the words i hear but i think its spelled false :(

  • if you used just a bit of clay arround the area of the lid you would not have to carve out the lid area, just clean out the clay. This would likely give a cleaner edge arround the opening area.

  • I like the guy, but that shirt is a crime

  • I went into Sports Authority In North Dallas Last week. On closeout they had 3 explorist 100's for 30.00 A couple of other Magellins for 40.00 If you need a starter GPS just keep your eyes open, check for closeout , look on craigslist.Good Luck!!

  • Thanks for the tip!

  • My dad has a tomtom, kind of lowline road-navagation gps. Which I have proceeded to attempt to go geocaching with. I have no options, and no hope in sight of a real woodsy gps anytime soon. Is this a viable way of geocaching?

  • Greetings nawby. The first 100 geocaches or so that I found were with a Garmin Nuvi so absolutely you can go geocaching with the TomTom. Just remember to put the setting to pedestrian instead of automobile.

  • how in the world are you supposed to find that out in the woods? again im a newbie

  • I would make this particular hide a good 4 or even a 4.5 depending on it's placement. It is not familiar and blends right into the environment. Good luck geocachers.

  • Nice job Headhardhat. I realy like the paint job.

  • It looks more like a crawdad hole entrance then a fire ant hill we have around here! But that is cool too.

  • Ya know, now that you mention it. I have seen crawdad holes just like that and usually the primer grey. Great idea. -HHH

  • It's really cool. Great job HHH. Thanks

  • Really glad you liked it.. -HHH

  • Nice Job! You living n the south must see ant hills that look like that. Where I live they are just mounds of dirt, not as steep as you show here. Very neat application of materials!

    Chris (CPINE)

  • Much thanks. We get mounds of different sizes down here in NC. I can see this just as easily being a mound of dirt too ;)

  • Can't believe it! Never thought about how some of these things are made.....BONDO!

Ya done it again HH. Thanks for the lesson. Autioning that one at FF ;-). I'll bid on it! CYA then.

    zuni

  • Why thank you Zuni. Thats high praise and I appreciate it.

    -HHH

  • Another great video!!! Thanks H3 (and crew) for all your hard work1

  • Thank ya, Thank ya.

We had a lot of fun and learned a lot of things making this video. Thanks to you for watching... -HHH

  • HHH

I love you your videos when you make a cache as you show how to make them in simple ways.

In fact I'm going to have a go at making my own ant hill I think soon.

Keep up the good work and I can't wait for your next one.

  • Why thank you. I like showing videos the way I like to see them and for me simple is always the better way to go. I am very glad you like GeoSnippits cuz I like making them just as much. See ya out on the trails....

    -HHH

  • hey triple H, does that shirt come with a dimmer switch...LOL Nice ant hill

  • ROFL, hey that was my old FADED shirt. You should see the new ones I just bought. Thanks for the morning laugh! - HHH

  • Nice! Thanks for the video!

  • Why thank you... I am really excited on how well this EVIL geocache is being received.

    -HHH
