  • I started laughing out loud when i see his surname is Pun. lol

  • press #2: "no poopy" press #5: well, you know what they say, sleep with the dogs and you'll get fleas!

  • bahahaha

  • @sqwishi1 LOL

  • Does it come with a kilt?

  • I adopted a cat from a shelter that has straight ears. I thought she was just a regular American short hair. She doesn't shed as much as my other cat. She has a little pug face kind of like a scottish fold or british shorthair, and she tends to be chubby. She has a sweet, soft voice, I've heard her growl maybe 1x or 2x in 10 years! She has the sweetest personality and LOVES to be held, cuddled & petted. I wonder if she's a Scottish Fold? She has the BEST cat personality. SO lovable!

  • I was a scottish fold breeder in the 1990's. They are wonderful cats, unique personality, striking good looks, and great family pet. BUT, as Kera1980 points out, there are many cute and loving cats and kittens in shelters. Statistically, half of all Scottish Folds born will have normal, straight ears for their entire lives - and as the breed grows in popularity too many of these lovely babies are ending up in shelters. Get a scottie, but also adopt one of their siblings or save a shelter baby.

  • The folded ears for some reason give these cats a bitchy look. I like it!

  • @bcwlim It's Singlish and he is definitely not from here. We have a distinct accent.

  • the guy looks like a scottish fold

  • @sqwishi1 That can easily become a racistic comment but still funny.

  • Come on guys, he's talking about cats here..dont pick on him aite? anw, im from singapore, and i can tell, he is Not from here. lol..

  • I have a Scottish fold. His name is Scotty. Original...

  • Guy is speaking Senglish. (Singapore English)

  • Cheezeburgeh

  • I use to have a scottish fold. She was adorable, but really shy and she didn't have a connection with my two other cats (siamese and my other cat. She was very independent and quiet cat. But she loved to play with the shadow or the light and bite peopel nosesXD

  • the folded ears are due to a geneticist something to degenerate the cartilage in their ears... but other than that... very awesome cats

  • good with trildrens?

  • I WANT ONE!!

  • they r so cute... but one thing is bothering me... why this guy talks like he's planting a garden? i mean duh... hey u 4 eyed guy, u r talking about animals not about roses, u can have white, or red.. omfg... idk but it makes me feel mad n sad...

  • mushy

  • Sweethearts <3

  • HAH THAT DUDE'S LAST NAME IS PUN

  • I find them cute when they are a kitten. Then they look so sweet with folded ears. but when they are grown up it almost looks like they are angry cats or something but that's just my opinion

  • oh and they are terrible outside cats, they will get eaten by something if left out. ( they are ridiculous and have no instincts) apparently the lifespan of an outdoor scottish fold is only 4 years...soo....dont leave em outside, i guarantee they will try to make friends with the neighborhood dogs

  • tie,

your so right, my little fold is so loving & I would never let my fold outside. My little fold is 4 years old and so playful & curious. I would love to adopt another one.

I have a domestic to keep the little fold company.

    M

  • I love the look of the scottish folds, but what they do NOT tell you here is that the folded gene is a genetic DEFECT not just a mutation.

It negatively impacts the cartilage in the cat, which is why the ear folds. But cartilage is also what gives a cats joints and tail their flexibility. If you breed a fold to a fold, the condition is so pronounced the cat will be in pain with a stiff tail and joints. With just one, the effect is reduced, but still not good. =(

  • actually thats no true, scottish folds that are bred correctly they can live to 18 years of age. ear cartilege is already flexible and therefore the genetic disposition only affects the joints when it is fold to fold breeding, at that point you can get joint weakness and skeletal deformities. genetically however, scottish folds are biologicially normal and are not prone to health problems, although some of the more peke faced ones can have issues with brachycephalic skulls sometimes

  • @tiemedown haha Are you a vet student or a vet tech or something? ;)

  • lol naw i just love my scottish fold, and followed my best friend ( who is a vet tech) around for about a year before I got one, learning all this junk

  • sooo cuutee!!! i want a scottish fold and a somali!!!

  • sorry bout ya cats but i think i know why they left its because their outside cats

  • beautiful cat i cant wait to get mine!

  • i love the way the kittens look, they are so awesome, but wth the adults it looks like the ears stay the same size and the body grows lol

  • I love my scottish fold, these cats are so cute. My scottish fold has the trait but not the folded ears. These cats are lap funguses, playful and very sociable. They cant get enough of us humans.

  • haha true

  • in my opinion these cats are only good when they are kittens.

  • 1337Scuba says: in my opinion these cats are only good when they are kittens."

Huh?! You must've never owned one! Mine is 7 yrs. old & the best pet I've ever had. Incredibly smart, easy going, travels well, & very funny. Everybody says she's the cutest cat they've ever seen. My parents actually "borrow" her. On yahoogroups is a forum called Scottish Fold Fanciers & there are dozens of members, all of who wouldn't trade their Folds for the world.

  • I'm not that crazy about the folded ear look, but there are straight ear folds and they're adorable.

  • hmmmm ive never seen one b4

  • Yep, it's an important part in breeding Scottish Folds. You have to have one straight ear to breed. Two folded ears should never be bred together or the offspring can carry a genetic defect that causes damage to their forelegs. That's why everyone should make sure the breeder is reputable before you consider buying one.

  • You obviously don't know any. They are far from boring. I'm telling you they have exceptional little personalities and are extremely intelligent. Rosie is right, they love to play and love people. Most of all they're funny. They're just plain goofy. Mine is more like a dog. She travels with me, rides in the car & walks on a leash. If you met one you'd love it.

  • But they LOOK boring. Atleast compared to normal scottish folds. Im sure I would love it if i met it.

  • haha....mine too...i used to think if she was a dog but trapped in a cat body...lol

    but they r just adorable

  • lol normal cats with no ears.. haha .. i agree

everyone go adopt some cats from you humane society or local animal shelter...you will do much more good.

  • I have a straight ear Scottish Fold female Pebbles. These cats are genius like...no joke. They have some very funny traits. They like to "buddah sit", which is where they sit laid back & on their butt like a person. They also like to sleep flat on their backs. Their coats are extra soft. They travel extremely well. They are easy to train and teach tricks. They love toys and to play. They just act goofy. People always say she's the cutest cat they've ever seen.

  • ahahaha, "Buddah sit"

  • they are soooo cute ohhmygod!

  • These cats are super fuzzy when they are kittens, but as adults they look like fluffy retards

  • Lol, funny looking cats...they have such round faces.

  • Its too bad you can't just go to a shelter and find one. I would love to have one of these!

  • Yeah, I agree... sorta. I volunteer at a shelter and omg, if I saw one there, I'd run out the door with them! LOL

but also... it's a good thing you dont see them. I think you get what I mean, lol

  • uhhhhhhggggrrrrr.... too CUTE!!!!

  • 1:13 !!!! Oh my God!

  • TRILDRENS

  • I must have one of these cats!

  • This is my favorite video on youtube! Thanks for posting!!!

  • I WANT ONE

  • Thank you sooo much for all the info! I def. want one of these kitties! ^_^

  • im getting 1

  • You are a major lover of Scottish Fold cats. I may consider one in the near future. Thank you for sharing your knowldge

  • scottish fold kittys are the most cutest kittys iv ever seen!!! :3

  • omg, i need one!!

  • is it coincidence that all scottish folds have big, cute and expressive eyes? i'm not kidding, this is a real question.

  • no its not.... their eyes are part of the breeds characteristics

round head is another. great companions. the BEST!

  • thanks! now i need to get a scottish fold from a shelter...i never see them there =(

  • scottish folds are not your average shelter cat. usually called fancier's cats because their an elite special breed.

you get them from finding a local breeder. not a shelter, and most if not all need to be registered to keep track of their ancestory.

  • Google Scottish Fold Rescue.. EVERY pedigreed cat breed has dedicated people who rescue cats, vet them, etc. and want to find homes flor them. If you want to save a life this is the next best thing to going to a shelter. Some of these cats are from BAD breeders. They need homes.

  • i want one of these cats so bad

  • does anyone know where i can find one? i have been looking all over the place

  • on google look for scottish fold and add your state name

  • i dont live in a state though and i cant find a breeder in canada

  • The message is the same. Type down ''scottish fold canada'' and you will get a breeder. In Ontario for ex. you have Kinross Breeder. I have a 5 year old female

cat that is a love. Good luck searching.

  • thanks

  • Try FBRL ... it's an online source for finding breeders in your area. They sort by breed and location. They also often have retired breeding cats available. If you can take an adult, please consider adopting one.

  • ahahaha i like it

  • i like the ears of a cat, why would you mutate them like that?

  • They didn't. In the same way that they didn't make the cat orange, or make it's nose pink.

  • Did you listen? They´re not mutated, their ears fold naturally...

  • yeah but the folding is caused by a mutation. its natural though, so its all good

  • Thanks for all the info. and for letting us view those beautiful, adorable MacKitties!

  • I have a Cool Grey Tabby. Her name is Charlie.I'd like to get her a frind to hang with.Would a Scottish Fold be a good choice.since Chux ownes the house?

  • I dont know who is cuter him talkig your the kittys

  • Yes they are cute, but lots of cuties who need homes are at shelters. Until the cat population's under control, consider giving a home to a shelter cat. They're just as loving. :)

  • Shelter animals need homes, but if a person gets a purebred, do not fault them for that. Spay and neuter and give your animal a forever home. Whether they be from a shelter or a breeder.

  • We actually got our two scottish folds from the shelter. I don't know why they were there but we lucked out. I had never heard of a scottish fold before we got our two. They are brother and sister and really are the best cats. They are very quiet. They hardly ever meow.. even when they are wanting fed. Usually when they want fed, they will find something close to you and make noise with it like a piece of paper or whatever.

  • @Kera1980 yeah ur right! i got my cat from a foster home, and im getting a cat today! im reallky excited! his name is simon and the 1 ive had is named duke! theyre both really sweet :)

  • I Love scottish fold, they are the best breed, i have it at home, he is such a good kitty :)
