  • It sucks knowing were all here from school :/

  • @v10xDzQn

What if I'm watching this as a sort of recap on the play for my exam, based upon my own free will?

  • i just watched this at school. in miss ward classroom

  • Macbeth has murdered sleep no more!

  • a montage of greusomely killing animals for a feast while cheereful joyful music plays . . . lol

  • In the play, it was Donalbain who went to Ireland, and Malcolm who went to England. Couldn't help noticing.

  • @FHPandeathtrapfilms Suck it up, Maverick. Shakespeare is awesome. I guess you're one of those kids that love twilight and stuff.

  • @FHPandeathtrapfilms Loving Macbeth doesn't make you mad. You are lucky to study Macbeth, I wish I had studied it at school. "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "Romeo and Juliet", which we did study, are O.K., but Macbeth is simply the best play Shakespeare ever wrote.

  • poor animals :'(

  • Macbeth was a real person, Shakespeare just added onto the story

  • shortest play ever written by shakespeare in honour of king James I. I find the storyline quite interesting (: never thought shakespeare was that AWESOME!

  • @Marachii LMFAO

  • ok so at my school in my afterschool drama production group we r doing this play and my teacher still says the name and so does everyone else we've performed it once (we r gonna do it 3 times total). nothing bad has happened but like evryone says 'macbeth'the really important line is when macbeth says he feels uneasy and wants to talk to banquo.but banquo leaves, but if he had stayed and talked to macbeth and convince him not to kill the king. thats a big reason for macbeth killing the king.

  • Macbeth is commonly preferred to as 'The Cursed Play' based on an idea that Shakespeare based the witches of the tale from real witches he encountered. Enraged, they cursed the play's name. The characters in this play did exist. You can even visit Macbeth's castle today. Shakespeare wrote the play for James VI King of England when he visited Elizabeth I. As Banquo's lineage of Kings would reach 8 generations, James VI was thrilled by the play due to he was 8th in his own line of power.

  • whenever this play is performed, the director for this play dies!

  • macbeth is being controlled by his wife -____________-

  • i am doing Macbeth at School

  • @KieranMckenna789 lol me too man, I hope I get to be the character with the least lines in the play haha :)

  • Macbeth is cruel and heart rending in way you think of it. When we see the King, who has twice now laid his trust on his "loyal subject", new "loyal subject" I might say, we feel compassion for his will to trust. He trusts Macbeth and is kind to his wife. Macbeth, who has doubts anyway is not inticed by the witches but his own wife, who forces him to do the deed. Its her that should of stopped HIM, as a woman she should of had compassion, but that, is taken away by her begs to the Devil.

  • Hey! The weird sisters like in Harry Potter! =D Maybe that's where J.K. got the idea!

  • oaky, now the corpse ghost thing scared the crap out of me

  • Japanimation is fairly famous, but I no C classic literature made into a japanimation.

  • you can say that again !!!!

  • @iluvfreeonlinegames: women in all of Britain are well stacked, even in the cartoons ;D.

  • @iluvfreeonlinegames: by the way, whenever I come across a swarthy woman of Brit extraction, I resolve to make a night of it on general principle! big, dark eyes and big dark tits are indeed a winning combination hahah.

  • @MithrasAtDusk BAHAHAHAHHAHAA

  • @iluvfreeonlinegames its like they put a spell over macbeth to kill duncan... weird right?

  • i would've never thought they would show a bit of cartoon animal gory violence ( 4:49 ) but thats alright by me lol

  • weird how donalbain looks older and stronger than his bro.. 0_o

you don't get cartoons like this anymore :D

  • check out my macbeth rap, it's pretty funny and informational

  • Who does Lady Macbeths voice?

  • wooo, the bit with banquo's ghost is so creepy!

  • baby

  • Are people so highly uninterested in Shakespeare that they need blood and violence to keep their attention? What is with the celebratory music playing while seeing the cartoonish killing of animals?

  • Well, Shakespeare's not for kids in the first place.

  • babies

  • @h2dennis ..mmm. yes =P

  • @h2dennis Oh COME ON. You're talking about a man whose most celebrated plays involve all or most of the characters dead onstage, and who frequently indulges in on-stage stabbings, eyeball gougings, mutilation, and even being mauled by a bear. Violence is an inherent part of Shakespeare.

But to the issue you're referring to - the main theme of the animation is the terrible nature of Macbeth's deeds; slaughtering the animals symbolises how easily he slaughtered those who should be dear to him.

  • @h2dennis So what if there's gore. It's not about trying to keep people's attention with violence. It sets the whole mood of the play which is all about blood and murder.

  • extremely creepy

  • baby

  • My favourite Shakespeare play.

  • its not a true story (im learining macbet at skool) but did u no in scotland they call this story the Unlucky play

  • Didn't they think it used to be cursed? When they performed it unfortunate things were supposed to happen, I think.

  • In theatre when you say the play's name bad things are supposed to happen. In theatre in the USA they call it the Scottish play well mainly the actors.

  • It is based on a true figure in Scottish history ... and indeed, there is a superstition that one does not say "Macbeth" in a theatre -- rather, one calls the play "The Scottish Play".

  • Legend says that the play is cursed, and that is what caused the superstition to come to pass.

However, what I personally think is closer to the truth is the fact that "Macbeth", being a play with many scenes of violence, has always been somewhat dangerous for actors to perform. Moreover, there is always room for mishap in live theatre -- much more than TV or film. Many things can and *do* go wrong. Hence, live theatre people are by nature and by tradition very supersitious.

  • im wondering what bad luck (if any) happend upon the animators? Or did they follow the same caution as the actors?

  • @shakespeareanimated

bacsilly they say that when the witches say macbeth 3 times someone near by gets hurt.

  • @shakespeareanimated i believe that. this whole play creeps me out.

  • @shakespeareanimated things still happen. If you say macbeth before a play is about to start. prepare for hell. why? well my drama teacher had the curse happen to him. when he was in his first professional play one of the guys said macbeth and a famous shakesperian actor who was in the play refused to be in it. he did the right thing because later on in the play my drama teacher got his rib cage broken, his friend got his finger cut of and it was hanging by a piece of skin and the theater closed

  • @shakespeareanimated actually the characters supposed to be playing macbeth died in some places, and a dead butterfly was found at every play at which it happened.

  • @shakespeareanimated Macbeth was said to be cursed because at the time when it was becoming acceptable for women to perform on stage, and a LOT of women who played the role of Lady Macbeth either died or got very sick. Nobody ever spoke the play name because they thought it was cursed, whenever they said "Macbeth" it was in reference to the character. To reference the play, it was called "The Scottish play." I hope that helps :D

  • @shakespeareanimated they called it the scottish play

  • Macbeth, as written by Shakespeare, is not completely true, but it is based in the life of King Macbeth of Scotland (who did indeed exist), also, Duncan, Malcolm Canmore and Donalbain. These are all historical characters that did exists.

  • @hsm2and3 nah, in England they call it (or atleast back then they did) the cursed play and believed if you said the name you too would be cursed, but in scotland we just call it Macbeth, the play didn't reach Scotland for years and when it did, it was just called it Macbeth. it is actualy based on real events, but being written in the 16th century news was hard to come by so Shakespear had to improvise and use what very little he knew of the events.

  • @hsm2and3 yes, indeed, im doing this play for my school play and we are not allowed to say it's name because a curse. here is were i got all my info. is preatty scary if you think about it for aminute lol

  • @hsm2and3 It's bad luck to say the name "Macbeth" on a stage. The player that was supposed to play Lady Macbeth died on the day of the play when william shakespear did it. So shakespear had to play lady Macbeth.

  • @hsm2and3 you are an idiot, its school not skool you idiot, its you know not u no, your spelling is worst than a 8 years old boy

  • @hsm2and3 they called it the scottish play

  • Fucking disturbing but good play

  • you no this is a true story

  • scary

  • lol, i love how cheery the music sounds as their killing the animals! XD

  • Hahaha! I thought I was the only one who finds that funny!

  • I love these animated shakespeares! First saw this when I was 3 years old!!!
