Like hell Ares I is getting canceled, under the new Obama administration I doubt it, Barack Obama really supports the Space Program, but congress doesn't.

Don't get too excited: Ares I is dying, if not already dead. The only open question is whether it will be canceled before or after Ares I-X.
And, FWIW, Ares I-X has nothing in common with Ares I except appearance: completely different first stage (even the propellant is not the same), no second stage, different structural elements, different RCS and avionics...
This is kinda boring and kinda cool at the same time.

Augustine commission ruled the LV replicated existing capabilities for double the cost.
Why build this when a Delta IV-H will do the same thing and cost less?
I was expecting this program to be cancelled as far back as 2007 as that's when all the serious technical bugs started cropping up .
Really they should have scrapped it when the SSME upper stage was dropped in 2006.
The J2X just does not have to performance to make it work.
But Orion getting cancelled as well was a surprise.
