His first appearance was in Sonic Adventure (for the Sega Dreamcast), and from what I remember his portions were still included in Director's Cut. It's been about 8 years since I had played the game...didn't he end up self destructing in his ending or something? One of the only worthwile characters to spawn from the point in time which Sega just started pulling out all these newfags who are more or less just recolors of the original crew and what have you.
@D00medNinja Not that characters in a video game meant for family fun really needed depth to their characters. Just look at Pac-Man- we only need to know he gobbles up dots and cartoony ghosts and we all love him.
@TheActionGameMaster I know that. But Pacman is a retro character so it's different. Video game characters aren't just simple pixels on a screen anymore, and video games aren't simple mini games anymore--video games nowadays are animated stories with depth and detail
@TheActionGameMaster Good point- but still a lot of games directed at younger players don't have any depth whatsoever (Rabbids, for example, are just moronic anthropomorphic bunnies but the kids still love em). And, there are a LOT of games directed at the younger demographics these days (especially on Wii) In fact, the only sort of game where depth is truly desirable is in genres where stories are emphasized and flesh out the experience such as the RPG.
Why did they kill him off so soon it seems he could have played a massive role in the sonic games and he was my child fav and still is
