Great trailer you made here^^ I just finished the anime yesterday.It's very good :D and as for character development, it's one of the bests up tillnow in my opinion :P I love the emotion in it <3

This show is one reason I'm glad I'm an anime fan. Take the premise presented; everyone is born female and at age 17 must choose their permanent gender (not everyone chooses since other societies go about it differently). Simoun makes it clear it's advantageous to choose to become male. Men hold positions of power and inheritance. Otherwise, through inaction or complacency, most would choose to remain female. That would mean the end of the species right quick. Great stuff.

@SeleneHazelEyes It's a great series, and IMHO, one of the best. The creators took great care to craft a world that's believable, intriguing, and beautiful. However, Simoun is not for everyone. Anyone looking for non-stop action best go elsewhere. Simoun is character driven, and uses war, politics, religion and personal relationships extremely well to showcase each one's development. It's a testament that each one get's equal time. It's bitter-sweet, but well worth your time.

I don't get it. So these girls when they turn 17 they have to choose a gender or they could be exempt and fly these Simouns (why do I always think of Simba when I say that?). But nearly all of them turn into guys, soo I guess it's not really a choice... or am I missing something?

@immigranter - it's a choice. Maybe they just wanted to be guys? These girls areo nly exempt because of the war - they get to wait a bit longer before they decide on gender, (because that means they'd be no longer allowed to fly the simoun.) Hope that helped. And I used to think of Simba too :D

Oh. Well then, that makes sence. All the yuri really makes it cute, very cute. But it's just a bit too mush echi adding Seras Victorias 30 mm Harkonnen cannon on one of the Simouns would make it more exciting to watch...

I saw the whole thing, and I was largely disappointed by it's ending.

Unique? Yeah. I'll give you that, but the ending really just spoiled the whole thing for me. :\

And sometimes the music was really out of place of the mood.

not really........the lesbian content is irrelevant to the quality and originality of the show, the soundtrack for instance is quite beautiful.

Strawberry panic is definitely one of my favorites, as well as Kannazuki no Miko. I plan to see Maria-sama ga Miteru sometime soon, hopefully. ^.^

I haven't watched it, but the character study of the show is supposed to be amazing, but I heard not to mind the first episode of it cause of the kissing scenes, they say that grows afterwards.

about a war between 3 countries. For diferent reasons. Also each country has it's own religion, and the girls who fly are priestesses forced to take part in the war. Best yuri anime out there because it has a really good story.

really? i have watched all yuri out there. Second best for me would be kannazuki no miko (even though sometimes it extremelly stupid it made cry at the end). Other famous are utena, which tries to be too deep. Then.. also strawberry panic, which is a mexican soap opera. Candy boy, cuteness overload, but not story whatsoever. Etc etc etc
