  • kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk shit

  • Kitty:AGHH I HATE YOU COFFEE YOU TASTES AWFULL D: WHY CANT I BURY YOU?????????? D:

  • Why do cats scratch like that around their drink bowl? My cat does exactly the same thing. Never her food bowl... only her coffee bowl. *AHEM* I mean WATER bowl!

    Seriously though. Why?

  • So random.. Why did he do that?! :L Thank you for taking care of Oskar and Klaus, not a lot of people have your kindness..

  • This is one of the most frustrating situations for a cat..."I smell the poo, and see the poo, but there is no sand! It won't go away! This is so embarrassing...I tried...(TT_TT)."

  • LOL. he is trying to bury it like its poo. hahahaha.

  • ahahhaaa..... in claus's world : coffee = shit to be buried ! ;-)

  • There is a list of things that you aren't supposed to give to your cats and dogs. Warren Eckstein from The Pet Show has a list on his site or you can easily check this via a regular search on the internet. Anyway coffee is one of the things that is poisonous for cats and dogs - it should be kept completely away from them.

  • @LTL30 You are correct -- we don't even drink coffee any more, so there is almost no chance that the cats will drink it. Take care!

  • He is not scratching. He is performing a druid ritual of sealing to banish the evil spirits which dwell within the cup.

  • It's clear what the smell makes him think of....the box or sand! Come to think of it, coffee does have a very earthy smell.

  • aww Klaus XD he likes to clean dont he?

  • Is Klaus's damaged ear still able to hear? He's such a sweet kitty!

  • @mimixmin Thanks for the kind words! Klaus can still hear out of the ear. We just have to clean it once per week to get rid of excess wax and dirt. It's a quick job and it's easy to do because Klaus is mellow and doesn't mind the q-tips.

  • OMG my cat does this same thing when she smells coffee too! One time my mom spilled coffee then my cat came and did this as if she was helping to clean up! SO CUTE! Way to go, Klaus!

  • what does the scratching means?

  • @tseng616 It,s what they do in a litter box, or sand where certain....smells are....lol

  • We call this the "why did you put poo out on the table?" response. We get this sometimes even when we serve up treats. Our cats continue to wonder why we have poo all around the house, present it on plates to them, and eat it ourselves. If we aren't very careful, one of them will cover her treat plate (that day, considered poo) with some of the tissue paper we leave lying around on the floor for her amusement. Ah, yes, the old "poo response."

  • I have a cat that does the same thing to anything I am drinking especially coffee.

  • My daughter has a cat that had a hemotoma. it had to have a drain put in the ear flap to drain out blood. He has a ear that looks that way now.

  • I remember reading somewhere that the reason cats do this ( try to bury ) near coffee, is that coffee has some mixture(at a loss for a better word), that is also in cat pee. So cats are treating your coffee as their pee, and trying to bury it under litterbox sand.

  • sooooo cuuuuuuute :)

  • Well, that coffee sure smells like cat shit >_<

  • Hahaha, our cat does the same!!! She especially likes doing it on the wall... You guys have two wonderful cats and I have to say that you're great 'cat servents' :)

  • Hahahahaha! Bury it! LOL

I am with Klaus though-I don't like straight cups of coffee, only flavored in ice cream and such. I love Klaus. :)

  • is Klaus a Scottish Fold or his ear is just defects?

  • @dalusgembalus His ear was damaged when he was a stray, years ago. We suspect frostbite or excessive scratching due to really bad ear mites. Take care!

  • Your cat hates it? Cats aren't even supposed to have coffee, or tea for that matters, lol.

  • @HakuoYowane He's not drinking it. He doesnt like the smell of it, so his instincts say "Bury it in the sand". Theres no sand, but he doesnt care.

  • He says "That smells like Kaka!" lol

  • "This coffee smells like shit"

  • My cat sure this all the time. Lol. Cute.

  • "Yuk!" exclaims Klaus. "Dad, why on earth did you get it? Here," says klaus as he begins to bury the offending aroma,"let me take care of it for you."

  • it is because coffee smells like old cat pee.

  • @Diavna Lol! Maybe. I'm still addicted though.

  • @granolagirl8819 same here, coffee IS the drink of the gods. man when i make coffee and go to take a shower then get out and smell it, ick. lol i prefer to make it when my nostrils haven't been invaded by the smell of girly flower body wash lol.

  • what does that mean when they rub their paw on the table like that?

  • @heyheyparty the cat is trying to 'bury' the coffee cuz he/she doesnt like the smell. after cats use the litter box, they do this to cover up their "deposits" with litter so it doesnt smell. same idea here but, unfortunately for the cat, its not gunna work heh

  • @SuckMyKiss420 my kitty did the same thing only it was kitty puke aka hairball but still verry cute

  • @SuckMyKiss420 ah good to know, I was wondering because my cat does it while she eats her food...I guess she doesn't like it that much...

  • @heyheyparty both my kitties do this even after they cover up their poop/pee on the side of their litter box. i think they might also be trying to get any bits of litter out of their claws afterwards. anyone else notice this or have another explanation?

  • @heyheyparty when they do that move it is to try to cover it up. usually because it smells like some sort of waste to them. if you smell old cat pee and coffee it is roughly the same odor.

  • hahaha@ the cat trying to cover the "litterbox" coffee smell.

  • thats skill not knocking over the cup...lol

  • Comment removed

  • OMG! That coffee must smells like pee for Klaus.

  • I honestly expected Klaus to just knock over the coffee after a certain point lol

  • I do the "Litterbox" at you, foul coffee!

  • I am so glad that these two cats have a safe home where they can be free to play :] Once I have my own place I think I will adopt some cats with birth defects or that had been disowned

  • @hellmaster3000 That's a great idea - you will never be bored with a great animal or two around!

  • @hellmaster3000 You also might become internet famous. The thing that really matters!

  • @hellmaster3000 You will never be sorry. There are thousands of cats who are old, have FIV, are blind, have FELV, or are otherwise considered "not adoptable." Sometimes they are the most grateful to have a home. But, of course, any rescue cat is grateful to be given the one thing they all need, a permanent home. I bet you will be loved to pieces by any cat you adopt.

  • Must be a crappuccino :P

  • your cat is just beautiful!

his coat looks so shiny <3

  • @LunaRebane Thank you (on behalf of Klaus). He does spend hours grooming that fur, and his diet is good. Take care!

  • My cat does exactly the same when she doesn't like something. But we've never tried if she likes coffee or not...

    ...

    ...I like coffee...

  • You know the way cats bury their dirt...?

How'd the coffee taste after Klaus had been near it...? o.o

  • @ShivuTheWolf The coffee I grab is always terrible (I'm not sure why I always get it, but it's close and I need the caffeine). When Klaus gets done with it I can expect to find a couple "bonus" cat hairs floating on top.

  • @Mick12321kciM X3 That happens to me all the time! xD Plus, most of the time, you brush them everyday, and everyday there seems to be another cat coming out 0-o xD

  • @Mick12321kciM Glad to hear it! I wouldn't want to see a cat declawed but I was worried he was scratching up the table. Though I suppose you wouldn't stand idly recording if that was happening :)

@bricksquad9552: I'm well aware that declawing is a cruel thing to do. Our cat has all his claws and he shows his appreciation by giving his owners the occasional scratch.

  • Hahaha.. So cute! He wants to cover the coffee :))

  • Lawlz. . .

  • So funny!!!

  • Is Klaus declawed?

  • @aiabgold Nope. He has his claws (as does Oskar), but we carefully trim the sharp tips.

  • @aiabgold you can hear the claws scrapeing the wood. And its also mean to declaw your cat because it takes thier method of self defense away, and it also hurts them alot.

  • I like how accurately the cat aims the phantom dirt whilst at the same time, skillfully avoiding knocking the cup over.

  • Why does Klaus's ear look kinda funny?

  • @Shockwave474 His right ear was injured when he was a stray. It is possibly from frostbite or from excessive scratching due to really bad ear mites.

  • @Mick12321kciM Does it still work?

  • my cat does the same thing to his food. tries to bury it

  • Does Oskar learn some sort a sense of touch or something like that to know his way around?

  • @GuireGod I have never seen Oskar do anything like this, but he does scoop around in the litter box quite a bit (he must enjoy the sensation of the litter on his paws). I think he relies more on memory and sound for navigating around the house.

  • @Mick12321kciM

so what your saying is he realies the memory and sound of the litter box so he scratch? so does that mean the coffee is shit? :p

  • @GuireGod Cats and many pets can get around surprisingly well when blind. The key is not not move furniture around. I had a cat that started to go blind at 15 years old. He developed what we called the "cat swagger", he would sway back and forth as he walks, so his really long whiskers would sweep back and forth and detect objects. Even in his old age he would get too excited and start running around, but once he learned not to jump up on stuff he did great.

  • Lol, my cat does that too. If I leave a plate on the floor, even for a minute he will try to bury it. Damn that cat for trying to improve my habits

  • I was tearing up and waiting for the cat to pee in/on the cup..... Thats funny

  • my cat does that to hide the food under the bowl where the food is... oO

  • Dang .. that ... was ... horrible... needs... to... be... buried...

Hmmm.... youtube wont let me post it with just the comment above! lol

  • LOL it's not working bro.

  • I think Klaus is trying to bury the coffee because it smells bad to him. Lol. They do the same behaviors in the litter box, ha ha. ;)

  • My kitten Amelia does the same thing with her food!

  • Supermodel hair. I'm kinda jealous - I would love to be one of your cats. They seem to have a very good time.

  • He's burying it to save for later

  • Don't worry Klaus. I hate coffee too ; )

  • Maybe you should bring home tea next time.

  • Seriously, why do both of your cats do the cutest things?

  • Klaus: "I must cover this smelly poop before my owners think I took it!"

  • Oh my, he endeavours burrying the cup of coffee, i love it, thanx for posting!

  • hohoho < my laugh. ;))

  • I guess you could say that's some shitty coffee

  • Klaus doesn't hate coffee. it want an IPad :D

  • LOL! ! ! How old was that coffee? ;-D

  • he is cursing the coffee?

  • Comment removed

  • lol, that's hilarious! he obviously thinks the coffee smells like crap *giggle*

  • I actually laughed out loud while watching this

  • lololol my cat does this to various things.

  • That is one fat and happy cat! Is he etching runes of warding around the coffee to keep you away?

  • EEEEEEWWWWWWWW what's that stinky stuff? Dig a hole & bury it, QUICK!

  • dum human, dont drink it ,no more

  • Must be Starbucks.

  • LOL, Klaus is making a statement.

  • why do cats paw at the floor like that?

  • @punjabiqt08 He's trying to bury it because it's stinky, just like he buries his pee & poop in the catbox. Actually I think cats know they can't bury stuff in the table (or the floor - my parents' cat used to "bury" his bowl when he was done eating or if the food was old & dried out), but as @MmeBlay said, they do it anyway to make a statement.

  • @themadlolscientist No, there are scent glands that exist at the bottom of their claws. They are putting their scent down so they are marking that it is theirs. We can't smell it very well because our scent is undefined, to the point where it is almost useless to us. It probably smells really bad or smells like poop to them so they think it is their waste, so they are marking it.

Where did this, "bury" stuff come from? Someone highly uneducated I guess.

  • @themadlolscientist Honestly, cats are not as dumb as you think. If anyone is going to assume they are burying their food with a table, the cat might as well be smarter than you. The cat is also not burying the food either, he/she is marking it because it is obviously theirs. Have you ever heard someone say,"Watch my stuff while I do this."? If we had scent glands as strong as theirs we wouldn't be saying that, we would just mark it like they do and no one would mess with it.

  • @Nicro327 I had no idea, cheers for the info!

  • Comment removed

  • i liked this because my cat is also named Klaus

  • That poor table ...

  • Y'know how they say all pages on wikipedia eventually lead to philosophy? Well I think all youtube videos eventually lead you to cats. Just an observation.

  • @Soccerfan56 I think you've got that wrong, all wikipedia pages eventually lead to Adolf Hitler.

  • @Soccerfan56 I tried, i picked a random thing on the first page, it was RCA. Then i clicked the first link in every article and got to philosophy xD

  • @D3Lithium Fuck you man. I did that too, just as an experiment. It eventually led to philosophy. Freaky.

  • @Soccerfan56 +1000000

  • @Soccerfan56 Yep, i started out listening to a song by Periphery

  • @Soccerfan56 Soooo very true im always on youtube and i enjoy every video i watch i usually start with beauty, music and what not and i always end up watching cat videos.. theyre soooo adorable

  • @Soccerfan56 OMG , you're right. I shall bow down to your genius :)

  • Hahaha! He thinks it smells like a litter box and just wants to bury it!

  • i admire u guys for adopting and loving him! hugs from buenos aires! marcela.

  • CAFINE CAT!!

  • Coffee is poisonous to cats. :(

  • My tiger tabby, Terry, buries everything in site. Every time he walks past his food bowl, no matter what time of day or nite, he works very hard at burying it; he paws at the linoleum, the wall, and cabinet doors. :D

  • my cat does this if he doesn't like his food. and sometimes just for fun i think. maybe he figures if he buries it he can save it for later, or keep it from getting stolen til he wants it? one day i had dropped a dishtowel on the floor so i just shoved it over in the corner since i was going to be rounding up the laundry anyways, and my cat proceeded to bury his food with it. i wish i'd gotten video of it, it was quite funny to see him concentrate so hard to get it 'just right'

  • Our cat does the same to his food once he is done eating or unhappy with the food served

  • 2 people have a coffeemachine with poo taste

  • Not certain that is the answer, I have a bobcat, Wicket, that constantly tries to cover every type of food he can find. Be it human, cat, rat or fish food, if I do not hide it, he will try to cover it as this one did.

  • @PandoorasBox same with my 2 cats who are 4yrs old each, they both will try to cover up Food that they do not like.

  • to him it smells like shit :P

  • LMAO Trying to cover up the bad smell..too cute

  • my cat dips his paw in the coffee grounds and eats them - search for "RODNEY DRINKING COFFEE.flv"

  • Your coffee is crap!

  • The scratching thing is instinctive behaviour. Well actually they are trying to dig. They do this for 2 reasons. 1, to bury their food from other hunters, or to cover up their own smell to protect themselfs of becoming prey themselves

  • maybe he wants to bury it???

  • I've woken up to coffee brewing and thought, "Man, why's it smell like cat $#!t in here?"

  • @wraukon o my gosh you're a cat arent you? o.O

  • aww i love how he bonks his head! poor lil guy! :P

  • "Don't worry guys, I got this."

  • My cat does the scratching on the floor like so around her food bowls. (In the kitchen in the morning we give her wet food, and she has dry food and water bowls in the basement where she sleeps and whatnot,) it is apparently to mark their territory (for females at least, perhaps not for a male... I am unsure,) they have scent glands in their 'paws' too.

  • lol

  • They probably just do it in attempt to cover up an odor they dislike.

  • I believe the cat thinks its poooo :pp

That's why he is diging xD

  • a normal cat doesnt earn as much vieuws as a blind one???

  • Does he think the coffee is a litter tray? My cat does that with a litter tray.

  • owwww hes such a cute cat i agree coffee is bad

  • you have two cute cats! :)

  • My cats do this around there food dish. Appearntly the bottom of cats pads are slightly scented, and they mark new territory with it.

  • I hate coffee, too...Well done, Klaus!!

  • Only half a cup? Maybe Klaus should try Folgers brand(c) coffee.

  • I agree with Klaus, I'd try to cover it up, too! :-D

  • This is how I feel about the coffee at work.

  • hahaha "klaus" holy christ what ann awsome name!! totally gonna name something after that..

  • Haha thumbs up if you think he thinks it smells like shit lol

  • lol this is hilarious :D

  • He's probably trying to cover it up. "Dammit, this thing again...Why won't you go away!"

  • Yeah he might think it is poop lol Smart cat.

  • My cat does this to ketchup.

  • Cmon people... that cat doesn't think the coffee is poop... They have scent glands in their paws and hes trying to mask the intruding smell with his own scent.

  • That is so funny. A cat editorial comment on the smell of coffee. I wonder what he is really thinking? : )

  • Don't edit the videos, he wanted a venti white chocolate mocha from Starbucks. Not this grande supermarket rip off. Give em hell Klaus.

  • My cat does this with his food bowl sometimes.

His Mother was feral, so I wondered if feral cats have an instinct to bury their food remains once they're done with them.

Or maybe he's just saying what it smells like! :)

  • My cat was a stray as a kitten and she does that scratching thing too but to any left over food she trys to bury it i think its just a habit thing because we've also found some of her treat "Burried" in our sheets, sofa and hamper lol

  • My cats do with when they're finished with their food; either they're trying to hide it, or tidy it up, i don't know which

  • He doesn't think it's poop, coffee is the single strongest most recognizable smell the human nose can analyze, cats have a very refined nose, not quite like dogs, but still better than us, this cat is blind though, right? he sees with his nose, the room, and everything in it, that cup of coffee covers everything, it's like for a human trying to turn off a very bright unnecessary lamp, most animals have the habit of hiding stuff under other stuff, it's the simplest way of doing so

  • He was trying to FLIP THE TABLE (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

  • I've always thought coffee smells like poo too! lol

  • My cat Brutus does this to
