  • One of my favorite music of Pink Floyd. I find this very moving version .

  • at 1:46 lol ;-PPP

i've listened to this song hundred times and i like it every time i listen to it.

  • haha i always giggle with joy when he misses the lyrics

  • One Guitar.......One God..... One David Gilmour

  • the concert is from Venice, check similarity with cellphones recordings. I don't know why he released this mess, even if it must be on the 5cd edition: he really missed the lyrics AND he plays the worst solo in his career, trying to tune his strat all through the solo. Should have started it all over, just like Macca does. It must be the only fair performance in his life, he's so great, what a feeling what a voice.

  • @ridendo2003 Well considering this was the first time he'd played the song in over a decade, I'd say it's pretty good. The solo isn't his best, but cut him some slack. If I remember correctly from the behind the scenes look at this tour, it was rainy and humid that night. If you know anything about the guitar, you'd know that humidity absolutely kills your tuning.

  • 2 dislikes? wtf is wrong with you?

  • superb mate , great post , one slip. and down a hole we fall. not dave he is god, just a man with more talent than the rest of us,

  • Ten kawałek nie był na playliscie koncertu, gilmour zaśpiewał go pod wpływem chwili i trzeba było ciągnąć dalej :) Zagrany zupełnie bez przygotowania. Miazga

  • Merci pour ce vidéo.

  • I listen to this because of the laughter, and how he must have smiled at Rick, who was alive at the time. He is amazing, but not perfect. I wouldn't care if his broke voice all through a concert. I would totally pay for it regardless. I never noticed on my gdansk discs that the crowd clapped. Only a TRUE artist, and one that loves Rick Wright would add this to his album.

  • David Gilmour, to On

  • thanks for posting this, it sounds so human.... the little vocal imperfections, the emotion, everything.........

  • This is from Venice perfomance, not Paland...

  • @andrepompeu

""On the turning away" played by David Gilmour. The song is one of many others included in the "Live in Gdañsk" 5 disc box. Note: this song is not from the concert in Gdañsk, but from one of the other concerts David and his friends had on their tour.

Feauters also a tribute to Richard Wright"

See any interesting in the text? Read before you comment things..

  • @andrepompeu Poland***

  • Hello RIchard!

    It's 'just me.

So often do I see your face, even when they say it's not time for me to join all of you.

Someday as it seems so shall be, I saw Johnny the other day, as he was hoping for Chocolate Cake.

Seems as tomorrow will have to wait again.

And if you didn't hear me say so, "Thanks For Being Part Of the Magic!"

  • Is Rick in this with him?

  • @kennyscotten

    Rick was with him

  • He doesn't forget the lyrics, this is the rick wright tribute i think he crys because you can hear his voice at 1:05. Love Pink Floyd they're amazing !

  • rick was alive at that time

  • i say that for those who asked

  • @XxdolanxX123 rick wright was alive at that time

  • @XxdolanxX123

If you listen, you can hear Rick play as well. It's not crying. It's laughter.

  • @XxdolanxX123 its not a tribute, rick was there playing next to him, he laughs not cries

  • @XxdolanxX123

LOL! No it's not crying, and it's not a tribute. Richard Wright was still alive at the time, and he completely forgets the two lines; it's NOT intentional!

  • an from my favorites

  • PINK FLOYD NUNCA MORIRA.!!!!!

  • Lol some1 forgot the lyrics, hear the audience support them.

  • He always seems to forget the lyrics in this song, haha

    (Live versions)

  • 1:43 a 1:50 RULES!!!!!!!

    =D

  • ... però rick si può vivere senza e che caspita è troppo l'ovazione daltronde a tu tradisti il buon sangue 333 paradise.

  • Sorry Pink Floyd Fan, this is on the Live in Gdansk live discs.

  • David has not played On The Turning Away in Gdansk. This soundtrack is from the Venice concert.

  • 61 anni buona pensione EDEN ERI UN EDEN PER LE DONNE IN TUTTO CHE CAPELLI BIANCI MA X I FIGLI????.

  • Per i figli che suonano la chitarra un esempio da seguire!!! GRANDE DAVID!!!!! :-))))))

  • in your life you're god of music now you're possession in life do you remember games play off

  • listen to that guitar...epic!

  • That first photo with Rick is fantastic..great solo!!

  • Comment removed

  • that last photo of Rick makes me sad. RIP and SHINE ON. Great version, killer solo. =)

  • I love this version on Live in Gdansk. It shows that although David is not really God, he is still human. I love his laugh when he cracks and forgets the words.

  • HAHA it was so funny when he messed up and laughed :D

  • Rick will always live on in our memories, RIP without you there can be no floyd, we will miss you.

  • Gilmour didn't performe this song in Poland.

He did it probably in Venice.

  • yeah this is from the bonus disk with other songs performed on the tour, still awsome though

  • you are the best RICK and DG

  • This song missed hte female vocal choir at the end.. For me it was one of the greatest part of On The Turning AWay

  • Go out and watch/listen to other live takes of this song and you will see that Gilmour forgets the words to the song on that same part quite often. Goes to show that even for the artists remembering the words isn't always the easiest thing to do. The pure brilliance of Gilmour/Wright, Pink Floyd makes up for it though. Personally I could listen to Gilmour play his strat all day long and never get tired or bored.

  • @ccbunn19 Me too. I listened to this song about a million times when I was working out how to play the guitar solo and it still gives me goosebumps.

  • love the bit at 1:40 when they cus of struggling with the top notes, but even the crowd cheers as they recover.....pure brilliant talent!

  • haha it's even better than that... listen carefully, they forgot the lyrics! That's why Gilmour starts laughing!

  • We love you RICK!

    Take Care!

  • Quality .

  • we will miss you Rick.
