I lived in Rochester for 4 yrs, from 97 to 01, and when I moved away to Massachusetts the only thing that couldn't be replaced was the Wegmans experience. Then last summer we moved again to Northern VA, and voila, there are 2 Wegmans stores right by our house. I had forgotten how much I missed it.
I don't live anywhere near a Wegman's (I'm in Louisville, KY), but I love the whole "Big Dog promoting a Small Pond Hero" feel behind the Alec Baldwin commercials. However, I think it's LAME that they cut Alec's mom (who caused the whole scenario) out of the aired commercials!
Surely there is room out West for a Wegmans. Really miss Wegmans here in Arizona, Safeway & Frys don't come close. Plenty of room here to build here too.
The wonderful thing about Wegmans is that the people who work there actually lime their jobs and care about the customer. Whenever I have any questions they are always willing to help out above and beyond what is necessary. The prices are less, by far, than other stores an the food is better. I buy primarily organic which tends to be expensive but at Wegmans it is affordable so I can live the life style I want without going broke. I have no love for shopping but I do enjoy shopping there!

I take Wegmans for granted having lived in Monroe County and then watching the store sprwed inbto the surrounding counties. There are so many of my clients that come from the I95 corridor that have had a taste of Wegmans, that they actuallyt look forward to visiting while here. One woman told me she was going to buy everything up and her husband said "she will".
VERY anxious for Wegmans to creep further down the I-95 corridor into Florida. Moved to Jacksonville, FL and miss Wegmans terribly. But not the Rochester weather!
LOVE IT! I shop at the mother ship of Wegmans in Pittsford. The local phrase is "Danny made it" when one serves any of the prepared foods. We even "dress up" a b it to go to Wegmans as you ALWAYS run into someone that you know.
This is a really inspiring video. It would be wonderful if more corporations made videos like this for employees that really bring out the American spirit showed at the polls this week.

Loved shopping there when I lived in Buffalo NY. There store brand products was better than popular brands.
